I'm always happy to see that a guest enjoyed their stay! The banner (heading) for the condo reads "Oceanfront Prop - Garden Vw! 1bd/1bth" I do my utmost to make sure we are accurate as I really don't want any disappointed guests! Lynda is correct that this is a casual oceanfront condo, decorated to suite the tastes of the owner who likes to stay as often as she can. Thrilled to see she found all the local favorites!

I am happy that Jane enjoyed her stay overall. A few points that are not accurate in her review: Nowhere does it say on the listing that this is Maui Sands rather than Maui Sands Seaside. I would like to say that they are sister properties, and a search of Honokowai, or Maui Sands will bring up many properties not just at Maui Sands but neighboring properties as well. I am very happy to provide exact location information to any potential guest before booking. There is a light positioned directly above the lockbox, but I appreciate this info and will look at a better solution. There is indeed ocean access from MS Seaside through the neighboring Maui Sands property. I am truly sorry the guest did not bring this issue to my attention, I could have directed them to the ocean access. There are directions in the Guest Guide and on the community bulletin board to the ocean stairs. The lanai overlooks the garden as advertised. The ground in front of the lanai is indeed a mix of grass and mossy ground, with mature greenery and plants towered over by a very tall Cook pine tree. The king size bed is to the owners taste. It was purchased as moderately firm. This unit is not advertised with a washer and dryer. Our past reviews speak for themselves and I am very sorry the guest did not approach me in their 28 night stay about some of these issues. We want all our guests to feel comfortable.

I enjoyed hosting you and your family Sarah! We always check the tide tables for low to mid tides for the best snorkeling off the shore at Maui Sands. I am sorry your husband didn't make it in the water, we get tons of turtles off the shore here! Happy to have you back again.

Mahalo for taking the time to write a review, and for taking such good care of the condo! One of my favorite things about Maui Sands is the pure peaceful feeling watching the horizon over the ocean brings. Glad you were able to tap into that happy spot as well!

Normally if I would not go into such detail regarding a review such as this one. Our good reviews speak for themselves, and I wonder at a guest that would complete her reservation under such conditions, and not follow up from the start with myself or the cleaning service. We are never happy when a guest has issues. However, our contract reads: "If the premises appear dirty or damaged upon Check-in, Guest shall inform Homeowner or her property manager immediately. " Sandra stayed at the property one month and did not let me know she felt the condo was in need of maintenance, or was not clean until a few days before check out. During her stay she requested and paid for weekly cleaning from our cleaning service. At no time did she express any issues with the cleanliness, or that anything in the unit needed extra attention to the cleaning service. The bed is about 1 year old, and receives regular compliments. As demonstrated by many of our other reviews. The curtains are about 6 months old, and also cleaned regularly. We check all the light fixtures for working bulbs between stays. We also keep on hand extra bulbs. The fan in the bedroom was 2 months old. The fan blades are also cleaned between every guest. There are both king size and queen size sheets in the condo. The queen size sheets are for the pullout, but there are extra king size sheets. The cleaning service changed the towels and put clean sheets on the bed weekly for these guests. I'm not sure what is meant by a courtyard, but this property does not have a pool, nor do we advertise that we have one. I take guest feedback very seriously, and when she emailed me 5 days before her departure that she was unhappy with several items, I did what I could to take care of the situation then, as well as thank her for the feedback, and check in with the cleaner who was doing her mid-stay cleanings. I would also like to note that the lighting issue was due to an electrical problem with the walkway lighting that was resolved very early in her stay. It was not anything in my or the owners control. It was not an ongoing issue.
