Finally back at home

After being gone for 4 years it was so nice to finally come back home & bring our kids to visit their brother. The room was as described in the post. I appreciated the beach stuff, sun screen, & laundry pods left at the room for us to use. Love that check in was so convenient. I enjoyed not having to check in at the desk, especially since we get in until 10:30 PM. The room was nice & clean. We will definitely be back again!

Great Spot!

This place was centrally located on the island which makes a huge
 difference! It never took overly long to get to any location no matter what direction we wanted to travel. I also loved that it was a short walk away from the ocean and that it had a pool and hot tub that you could use. You can hear traffic a little bit from inside the apartment but it wasn’t a problem even for the country girl that I am.

Good location to visit the island

2 week stay with my adult daughter, the unit was well appointed with 2 double beds and a split bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped with a basic pantry. We did appreciate the AC and the cable tv. The beds were comfy but the pillows were a bit lumpy. Some basic beach items would have been appreciated, we ended up buying a chair and snorkel (which we left behind) as well as a couple of insulated bags. We have stayed I’m in Poipu and Princeville before and found that Kapa’a’s central location made visiting the island easy.

Loved it!

We absolutely loved the location! It was close to everything we needed and we really enjoyed the bike path just down the road. Great supply of cooking items and towels. The only draw back we encountered was prior to booking I contacted property management to ask if this property had beach chairs. I was told they did. When we arrived, they ended up being camp chairs. It still gave us somewhere to sit, so it wasn’t a big problem, just not what we were hoping for. Overall great property with an easy check in/out process, and easy to work with!

It is on the second floor and away from the trafficked areas of the complex. It has a beautiful view over trimmed vegetation at the Sleeping Giant (Nouno). The only drawback of the location is highway noise, which the vegetation doesn't screen well.

Clean, cozy and convenient

I have stayed in Kauai a number of times and I like the convenience of Plantation Hale. The condo was fantastic and the layout was perfect for 1 or 2 people. The condo was clean and the furniture was relatively new. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedroom was away from any noise in the hall. Previous reviews talked about highway noise. There was some but it wasn’t so much that it distributed my sleep. The air conditioning units were quiet and worked well. I enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings after big hikes on the island.

Although it states mountain view, please note that you cannot see anything but the trees and flower bushes in front of your balcony which was a disappointment. Tons of towels. Our only complaint was that we had to purchase a $10 laundry card to find out that we had to load another $10 to the card to actually do laundry. There should not be a card to buy a plastic card. Other than that, we were very happy with our choice.

First of all, the 4/5 star rating misguided me. My stay was thoroughly disappointing. We stayed at B-13 Plantation Hale. Pros: ease of checkin, friendly staff at concierge desk. Cons: the property at B-13 was not managed by the front desk as it is independently owned. The unit built in 1931 is in need of lot of updates. We noticed bugs that seemed like mosquitoes upon checkin and thought it was something to find in a humid weather. But the next day, the gnats or something like that were all over the kitchen, I. Bathroom and in bedroom. I requested pest control - and it was done. But there were dead gnats on towels - I requested new towels. My email was never answered, till another repeat request a few days later. Horrible stay. Don’t stay here. Stay at a hotel or other condominiums.

Having stayed at Plantation Hale before, B13 is a great unit. Coastal theme decor sets the mood for relaxation. Furniture is comfortable and the unit was spacious for three adults. Unit owner shows thoughtfulness in the little touches in the unit. Kitchen supplies and gadgets are well stocked and in good quality and condition. Linens fresh and towels fluffy! Unit also comes with beach accessories from towels, chairs coolers and an umbrella. A mini shoe rack by the door helps minimize shoe clutter. We appreciated the efforts made by the owner to make the unit clean and cozy and wanted to maintain its condition. We purchased house flip flops to change into to minimize tracking in dirt from hikes or sand from the beach. Looking forward to returning!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of four adults stayed a week, Saturday-Saturday. The unit was exceptionally clean and well supplied, included beach chairs, boogie boards, variety of coolers,beach towels, shopping bag plus full kitchen, cleaning and a few laundry supplies, two large fans, extra bedding. Queen size sofa bed was very comfortable with a memory foam mattress. We knew there was no direct beach access but you can walk to the beach. East side of island so great sunrise views. Very close to Coconut Marketplace - shops, free hula show by local students twice a week plus hula lessons, ABC Store - food, coffee shop, a few groceries and lots of island kitsch. We knew from description we would not have beach view and from a previous visit to the island would be close to the gets a bit noisy in the early morning when road crews put out cones for the traffic contra-flow and there seemed to be accidents every day so lots of emergency vehicles. The AC unit drains onto lanai which has outdoor carpet so it is wet if AC is used. It is a second floor unit so you must use stairs, no elevator. We did not use pools or hot tubs so can’t speak to that. The staff were wonderful. They worked with us on additional time the last day of our trip. Our outgoing flights left several hours after checkout and it was worth it to us to pay a little more for 8 addl hours. We were able to kayak the Wailua River, make a final trip thru Kapa’a and get showers before our 12 hour trip home. I would stay here again.
