This is a great complex. The pools are wonderful and the apartment was perfect for 4 adults. The panoramic view from the balcony is priceless. The only complaint is the location at the top of a fairly steep hill. If you have mobility issues this will be a challenge. We resolved this by renting a golf cart. La Cruz is a great little community with plenty of dining options

beautiful property, well stocked with everything you could need!

This was a great condo - with great views and privacy because the way the balcony is situated, no other condos can see in like some of the others. Everything is there that you need and you feel right at home. The TV has lots of channels in English, so we were able to watch some TV at night!

Amazing condo, location & amenities

Chuck's condo far exceeded our expectations! It is a beautiful, well equipped 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo with the most amazing views of Banderas Bay in the tranquil setting of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle. The infinity pool at the condo and the beach club are both amazing! It is a short drive to Bucerias or Sayulita and there is much to explore in the area. We rented a car so that we could enjoy the experiences of the area. We rented Chuck's condo for the month of October 2018 for me to recover after having hip replacement surgery. The condo is so well appointed I did not have any problems moving around or being comfortable while recovering. In fact, for the first few days while I was spending time in bed, I had this amazing view of Banderas Bay and it is so quiet and peaceful. Chuck was amazing to rent from and his property manager, Nancy, quickly answered any questions we had. We are already looking forward to our next vacation here :) Thank you so much for sharing your piece of paradise with us!

Beautiful property in beautiful location!

Such a beautiful place with everything you could need for a great vacation. Nancy was so nice and helpful. We stayed with another couple and had a wonderful time. This place is a perfect base from which to explore the area. Would highly recommend renting a car if you have any mobility issues as the hill is very steep to get down to the bus stop. Also having a car gave us the freedom to explore north to Sayulita (a definite must visit). Another tip Nancy gave us was the fruit and vegetable co-op across the street from the entrance to the property. Very fresh and cheap! Overall great experience.

A little bit of paradise

My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks and it was amazing. The condo had everything we needed and more. We were happy to leave 2 chairs and an umbrella behind for the next lucky people who stay here. The view is amazing as were the 2 pools and the beach, we hated to leave. Nancy was very helpful and a wealth of knowledge. The people, the food the beaches were great. You cannot miss the Sunday market at the marina---you have to go to the food vendor area and taste the local food. We rented a Rav 4 (form Gecko's) so we could explore and found a private beach (Lugar Beach) and we went during the week and had the whole area to ourselves. Bucerias was fun as was Punta Mita and Sayulita. Went on the Ally Cat Snorkeling tour and saw so many whales as well as being with an amazing crew. Thank you both for renting to us and we hope to return in the future as I cannot say enough about this area---retirement idea comes to mind. Deb and Steve

Absolutely wonderful week!

We absolutely loved our stay at Chuck and Jill's beautiful home in La Cruz. The view from the patio was amazing. The furnishing and decor were just perfect. We never did get the TV to work beyond one sports station but didn't come all the way to Mexico to watch TV ;) The property includes 2 pools, one with an infinity pool and a view out to the ocean, the other with the added bonus of a private beach. We also had easy access to a gym but I must admit, we never used it. The walk up and down the property, to the beach, and into town provided all of the exercise we needed ;) La Cruz is a nice area with friendly locals and expats, good food, beautiful marina, and a fabulous market. (The fish market every day converts to a huge Sunday market with artisan crafts, street food, jewelry, live music, clothing, etc.) I love to cook, so a vacation without a kitchen is no vacation for me. The condo includes a great kitchen with all of the necessities. Combine that with the fresh fish market, the fruit and vegetable market just down the hill from the property, and a patio with a grill and an amazing view - I was in Heaven. La Cruz is a great jumping off point for so many things to see and do around Riviera Nayarit. We enjoyed a day with Vallarta Adventures, Puerto Vallarta's El Malecon, the La Cruz Sunday market, Bucerias, Punta de Mita, and many hours relaxing by the beach and the pool. We did not rent a car and found we didn't need it. Taxis are easily secured and inexpensive. The real bargain though are the buses that come in all shapes and sizes and provide an opportunity to get to know some of the locals that call La Cruz home. (Example - a bus ride from La Cruz to Puerto Vallarta - a 45 mins ride - cost just over $1 USD per person!) Can't wait to return!

Fabulous amenities and location!

Our family of four spent a wonderful week at this lovely condo. The infinity pool is spectacular and overlooks Banderas Bay--so lovely! And I'm not an early riser, but I woke up every morning to watch the sun rise over the Sierra Madre mountains and the bay. What a gorgeous sight. The condo is perfectly located, too. You can walk to the private Beach Club (loved the pool and cabanas), to a nearby hotel for dinner (great pizza and cocktails!), and even to the seafood market and many other restaurants. Easy cab ride to supermarkets, gorgeous beaches, multiple restaurants. And one of the best parts: the condo was wonderfully stocked. Not just linens, towels, etc., but the fridge was stocked with essentials (even coffee, tea and beer), the freezer with some welcome alcohol for cocktails, and the bathrooms all had shampoo, lotions, sunblock, etc. Made life so easy! Being able to wash and dry clothes was great, and we grilled on the patio, enjoying the view, more than once. My son and daughter loved the gym downstairs and worked out every day. I just relaxed with a book--so peaceful! This is a great area, a little away from all the tourist craziness, but easy to get there if you want to do so. We hired a car, but you honestly don't need to do so. The security guards will call up a cab for you in minutes and they are cheap. We felt very safe the entire time and found getting around very easy. Great folder of things to do at the condo, too. Thanks so much to Roberto, who was very responsive, and to the owners for one of the best vacations! Go there: you'll love it!

Fantastic views and location, loved our stay

Chuck and Jill's condo was perfect for us. The views are fantastic and we made great use of the balcony and grill. We appreciated the extras in the kitchen like condiments and spices, not to mention the liquor cabinet. Like previous guests, we also left something behind, and it was nice to have some variety. We rented a car, so the secure parking and location were ideal. Both pools are awesome, and it was nice to be able to walk down into town. Chuck and Jill recommended Tacos on the Street in La Cruz and it was delicious. And the fresh fish (and other goods) at the Sunday market in La Cruz should not be missed. We hope to be back!

Great Place, with everything you need. Awesome location

If you haven't explored the area North of PV, you need to start googling. This area is not a reflection of what you see and feel in PV. The area is incredible, and the further north you go, the more amazing it gets. The trinkets and trash you buy are replaced by more hand crafts. The pushy vendors of PV are replaced by a wonderful people who just want to make a living, with less pressure. The landscape starts to resemble Hawaii the further north you go, with bigger waves and small towns lend themselves to great food and good times. The condo could not be located better. You have the ability to go to Punta Mita in 10 minutes. Sayulita in 12 minutes, (if you drive the same speed as most do here) More towns north of Sayulita . If you don't know Sayulita, google it....I have second thoughts about promoting it , in hopes it stays exactly the way it is!!! Rent a car. Don't listen to crazies who tell you not to drive here. The car gives you ultimate freedom to drive anywhere at a whim. Rent from Gecko. About the condo there isn't much to say except that this condo is beautiful. Great view, good security, great beds.....all was perfect. We cooked meals a lot, and then went for nice dinners. Really nice restaurant in La Cruz. Bucerious also has some nice places to eat. Bucerious is nicer than PV too. 10 minutes from Condo. The Mega Store the has everything you need for groceries, at great prices. Great pool at the building and also at the beach. There is a huge gorgeous long beach West of the condo, towards Punta Mita, called Disilerados. Extremely nice beach to get the best sunset shots with Marietta Islands in view. One thing is wasn't totally sure about was the distance to the beach, but once you are there, you realize just how close you really are. the walk to the beach is less than 5 minutes, once you find the shortest route on foot. I have nothing bad to say about the place. Very comfortable. Chuck was very timely in his responses and Sally as well. Great place, great people. Wonderful holiday. :) would recommend to anybody, but again, most important for a trip to this area...be willing and courageous enough to rent a car. It will change your vacation dramatically. Great view

Nous sommes demeurés un mois dans ce magnifique condominium avec une vue imprenable sur la baie de Banderas et sur la marina de La Cruz. Nous avons été impressionnés par la propreté et l'entretien des lieux. Les deux piscines à débordement sont situées à des endroits stratégiques avec une vue sur la baie. Le beach club avec ses petits salons et son restaurant est l'endroit idéal pour relaxer sur le bord de la mer. L'accès au village de La Cruz est seulement à quelques minutes de marche et on y trouve tout ce dont on a besoin, incluant restaurants, bars et épicerie. Le dimanche, nous avons droit au marché de la marina ou nous pouvons découvrir l'artisanat local et la nourriture de différentes régions et les produits du terroir. Nous avons aussi dégusté du poisson frais et des fruits de mer achetés au marché de poisson de La Cruz. Nous avons passé des vacances inoubliables. What a wonderfull place to spend an unforgettable month! Thank you Chuck and Jill Great place and great service.

Scenic Compfort

We are a family of four and were looking for a change from the "all inclusive" default holiday. Chuck and Jill chose a terrific location for their second home. The view never gets old, and such a relaxed atmosphere in La Cruz. The condo is spacious and well equipped. We were able to fly with carry-on luggage only, knowing we had the washer and dryer - a first for us and so much easier for travel and stay. The condo was most appreciated when we had a rare string of rainy days. We never waited more than five minutes for a bus right outside the condo - about $2 per person gets you to most places. The grounds and pools were clean. The staff and locals were helpful and friendly. There are many places to adventure out to, or the relaxing pools and beach are just a few steps out the door. What a view!

This property is beautiful with the plantinds, walkways and infinity pool. I liked the pool for the shalliw areas to sit and cool off and the deeper section fir swim. The Palapa and restrooms are clean and relaxing. The view from the pool area is awesome. The light lunch and snacks are great poolside fare. There is a second pool and clubhouse right on the beach! Big planters with trees are scattered in the pool that provide a bit of shade here and there. The planting are lush with nook built in for a bit more privacy rather than laying in rows on the pool deck. There are plenty of umbrellas, full service bar, small restaurant with snacks and pool side service. I would say it has an upscale resort feel. The unit itself is as described, again with great views. I would not suggest this building for families with small children as the railing around the deck is glass and the bridges from the elevator to the unit door are glass and open to the all other floors. The pool area has a play structure and the pool has lots of shallow areas for kids to play in the water. The owners are great and went out of there way to resolve our challenges gaining entry to the property.

Nice Way to Spend A Month

We were lucky to have found this condo to rent in La Cruz. Walking into the unit, the view out the lanai was outstanding. Looking across the town at the Marina & the bay, you can look at it all day. The unit itself was clean, well appointed, lots of utensils, pots, dishes. If you so wished you could cook all your meals. The owners are very understanding and take care of your questions & concerns. A pleasure to deal with! The complex comes with a beach club a short walk down the hill, has an infinity pool, beach bar, and a reasonable beach. The upper complex also has an infinity pool with a large deck. The town has a variety of restaurants, eateries, marina, Sunday market for veggies, fresh fish and stuff! All in all a good place to hang your hat for a vacation.. We are returning!!

Another Great Stay

We love the La Cruz area and our stay this time was a real treat. This was our second time in this unit and the new ownership really has helped in the small details that make this unit a great place to stay. You can't beat the wholesale fruit market 50 meters from the property gate and that combined with the fish market in town makes this a special find. The sunrise every morning is something to behold, for me a real treat. Our kids loved trading time between the pools and the beach and we loved the great people we meet here every year. It is hard to beat this winter get away! Thanks Chuck and Jill!

Incredible View, Great Amenities, Beautiful Condo

It was a pleasure to be one of Chuck and Jill's first guests at their "Dream Come True" home in La Cruz. This Condo is certainly the most "swish" rental we have stayed in, with the best feature being the floor to ceiling windows across the entire front wall, including the master bedroom, which looked out over Banderas Bay. The balcony was a wonderful space to have breakfast, afternoon happy hour or BBQ dinner. The furniture and beds were all very comfortable and if you have travelled to Mexico often, you will appreciate this rarity. The amenities connected to the Alamar provide options for you whether you prefer the safety of the infinity pool (and again comfortable lounge chairs to sit in), or the beach club where you can choose ocean or pool swimming. The beach club is a bit of a hike--about 15 minutes down and 20 back, but it was an excellent opportunity to wear off some of the Cervezas and tortillas we overindulged in. La Cruz is a quaint town. However, we prefer Bucerias, just because of the wider selection of restaurants and night time activity -- but it is only a short cab ride away. Overall, we would recommend this VRBO to anyone. Those with small children or with mobility issues do need to be aware of the distance to the beach and even to the gate where you can get a taxi. We highly recommend having Sally Porter arrange airport pickup for you and to stop at Mega on the way, for your groceries and drinks. (Don't expect to buy your supplies in La Cruz.) Dream Come True is a fabulous place (even in the rain).

Luxury and Views!

This is like staying at a 5 star luxury hotel but without all the hustle and bustle. The two pool areas are always spotless and peaceful. We felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The unit itself is fresh and clean and beautifully appointed. It's obvious the owners are trying their hardest to make it perfect. It's so nice and new when so many places are worn or dated. It was an easy walk to the town of La Cruz for the weekly market and restaurants (don't miss Tacos on the Street!). The town not a tourist zone so it's not overrun with any souvenir shops, just little markets and cute little restaurants. We did not have one bad meal. The locals are so nice and everyone would say "Hola" to you. If you want a quiet place away from the crowded resorts and tourist towns, this is it. Oh, and they weren't kidding about the views. Watching the sunrise over the bay and the marina is amazing but I could sit there all day and just enjoy it. So glad we ventured to this end of the bay.

Chuck and Jill live in a farmhouse in northern Colorado. They love the simple life - and even more, they love the simple, relaxing life in the Puerto Vallarta, Mexico area. It's a dream come true for them to have a place of their own in Mexico and they are so happy to share it with you!

They are animal lovers (they have four Golden Retrievers and two cats) and love travel, reading, and a great relaxing meal with a glass or two (or three) of wine. Chuck enjoys the occasional tri-atholon and as he says, 'digging in the dirt', and Jill loves photography, daffodils, and creating all sorts of art.

We love Alamar! We literally looked at dozens and dozens of properties all over Banderas Bay. We had just about given up when our fabulous Realtor suggested one more property... Alamar. When we saw the property and the natural surroundings, the mountains, the mango trees, the marina, the bay... we were in love. The pools and beach and amenities are amazing. Then, when we saw the actual condo we knew we had found what we were seeking. Paradise! The mountain breeze flows through even in the deep of summer and the pools invite cunningly... and then there's the private beach with private cabanas, hammocks, palapas, delicious restaurant, friendly staff, jacuzzis, pools... pure bliss.

Alamar's logo is 'Different by Nature...' because the developer is a Biologist who desires to maintain the natural surroundings and incorporate them into its overall design. There is a mile long hiking/walking trail through the lush hillside on site with plans for more. Under-cover parking, weight/work out room, community center, proximity to the Marina and the famous La Cruz Market and an exclusive, private beach. No other resort has that! Our home is on the 8th floor where the view is so stunning it leaves you breathless. The furnishings are luxurious and comfortable. It truly is home in Paradise!
