Magical

Could not have been a more perfect setting! This cute rustic cabin is peaceful and private and has everything you need. Located right by the ocean, we were lucky enough to see whales and seals and birds every day! We also saw some northern lights! Great beach walking with lots of cool driftwood and rocks. Sam, our host, was exceptional!! Very personable and available to answer any questions and offer great suggestions. We hope she will have us back next year but I know she will book up fast!

Wonderful place on Quadra Island

This is a great place with wonderful views of the sea and mountains. The house is right on the beach and access to hiking is very close by. We really enjoyed our time here.

There aren't enough superlatives!

One of the most incredible vacations my wife and I have had. A magical 8 days of perfect weather, kayaking, hiking and whale watching [from the cottage deck]. Two days in a row we saw pods of Orca swim by and five days of constant sightings of minke and humpback whales. On multiple occasions we saw humpback breaching and tail slapping constantly. Dozens of songbirds and several bald eagles and herons added to the experience. The cottage is in a breathtaking location and had everything we needed. Everything went really smoothly and helps make for a great vacation experience when you don't have to worry about anything. Thanks to the great weather we had every meal on the deck and BBQ'd almost every night. A very comfortable cottage that is ideal to get away from everything and give your mind a vacation as well. An amazing location to relax and read a few books [between whale watching]. Highly recommended and I can't wait to go back.

Peaceful paradise

Great Stay

HUMPBACK AND ORCA WHALES OUT THE WINDOW!

A beautiful little cottage on the ocean's edge. Eagles above, deer in the forest right out the door and whales, seals and otters swimming by. A wonderful immersion in nature. Sam was lovely and available to answer any questions. Guests should be aware that the beach is rocky and full of driftwood, so be sure to have water shoes.

A True Gem

Perfect place from which to launch your Discovery Islands adventure or to find peace and tranquility with a stunning view of mountains and sunrises. We were entertained by eagles, herons, harbour seals, dolphins and even a couple of humpback whales, all from the comfort of our deck! The property location, accommodations and host were wonderful. The well maintained beach house has what you need for 2. Sam provides extensive information Q on local attractions and can tell you anything you need to know about Quadra Island and area. She was very welcoming and considerate during our much needed getaway. The islands are beautiful and the locals treat you like one of their own. We will be back!

Sunny Sea & Sky Sanctuary

We had high expectations of this seaside cottage—and we were not disappointed! We were blessed with 6 days of crystal clear skies, outstanding mountain views, and parades of seabirds, including harlequin ducks, various loons and lots of gulls. A sea otter rested on a nearby rock and devoured a big hunk of fish. Herons squawked at us as they flew overhead. An eagle hung out nearby occasionally. Walking a nearby trail, we saw (and heard) whales spouting. The cottage was clean, cozy, comfortable and quiet. When we weren’t out hiking (or enjoying the pub at Heriot Bay), we spent hours on the deck just gazing. We enjoyed evenings playing Scrabble. Our host, Sam, was super hospitable. She brought us tomatoes from her garden, and even some cod cheeks that we cooked for dinner one evening. We were thoroughly delighted by our stay at the cottage—highly recommended!

Stunning.

Hi this holiday home was awesome. I would recommend it to anyone. The host Sam was so lovely and kind. There were whales going by every day, the first morning sitting outside at 5am listening to the whales calling to one and other it was awesome. There is so much to do in this area. Thanks Sam for letting us stay in your wonderful cottage.

The beach house was everything we had hoped for. Super clean and the bed was very comfortable.

I would highly recommend this very private beach front getaway. We saw dolphins and sea lions from the deck. Hope we can come back some day. Dig out your old CD collection to bring along and you will be set.

Most relaxing vacation ever

Everything about this cottage was perfect. Located steps from ocean, if it rains there are big glass windows facing ocean and comfortable seating, we enjoyed just looking at the awesome scenery, private, quiet, lots of places for hiking and kayaking on the island. Everything you need is in the cabin, the host was helpful and not intrusive, but follow her directions and don’t trust gps or you will end up in her driveway confused. lol Hot water comes from tap after just a few moments and the water pressure is great. Perfect patio for whale and eagle watching. I could not find a single fault and had the most relaxing holiday ever.

The cabin of my dreams

This cabin is better than the pics can show. The view is breathtaking. The bed is super comfy with a light and puffy comforter. Kitchen is very clean, large new fridge, good cooking pots, pans, cutlery.... The host lives nearby and is super nice and very attentive to whatever the needs may be, without being intrusive. We saw whales, dolphins, the resident eagles, purple starfish, and the beautiful anemones at April point. Enjoyed it so much that we already booked for next year. Wonderful experience!

Sam's cabin was such a treat after a multi-day kayaking trip. We were surrounded by breathtaking mountain and ocean views complete with eagles and humpbacks playing in the foreground. It was truly a wonderful experience and stay.

Best of the Best

With ease and friendliness, a personal welcome email, and directions, we found our paradise. Lots to do and lots of ways to relax. Comfortable and clean, quiet and no need to travel for great hiking, biking, kayaking, beachcombing and sightseeing. And yes, we did sit on our deck and watch the whales! Thank you, Sam. Resident for 40+ years. Came to Quadra from Vancouver to enjoy the rural life. Property is 1 1/2 acres with main house on bluff with Beach House accessible by private road.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

This Beach House was built in the 80's as a Vacation Rental. Went to long term rental with two tenants residing for eight years each. Renovated in 2008 with Vacation Rentals starting in 2010.
