This older coastal home was a hit with our family! The home had amazing ocean views and was conveniently located a short drive from several San Diego attractions. The living areas were clean and well kept. We would definitely recommend this property and would not hesitate to stay again if we get the opportunity.

Jasmine, those ocean views really do set the tone for the whole stay, and having San Diego's attractions a short drive away makes it an easy base for a family trip. Glad the clean, well kept living areas rounded it out. The coast will be here whenever you want to return.

The host was very attentive and communicated clearly. I would not recommend the property for someone with children younger than 6, some of the furniture was very delicate and there were multiple levels (small steps) to navigate. Near grocery stores and beach but you cannot walk in the neighborhood at all due to windy narrow streets.

This was a stunning fairy cottage with a gorgeous view of La Jolla cove! It was all of the vibes I wanted for my cozy girls trip! Would be incredible to sit and read here all week.

The Porter House was as advertised & in a location that made it convenient to access both shops and restaurants. The kitchen was well appointed with almost everything you would need to cook any meal. Any questions we had were answered in a prompt and efficient manner by the host, which made everything from booking to checking out an easy process. We would definitely book again if staying in La Jolla.

A very charming coastal property with amazing views. The front courtyard feels like you are sitting at a private European bistro with the table, chairs, umbrella and colorful flowers everywhere! Watching butterflies floating by and gazing at the purple flowering Jacaranda tree and palm trees. The master bedroom is a marvelous retreat after spending the day at the gorgeous beach nearby. We loved the quaintness of the living room with comfy seating, gorgeous views, beautiful light fixtures and basket full of blankets. The hot tub was enjoyed tremendously by all! You are so close to the best restaraunts, cafes and shops.

Our stay was wonderful! Our group had plenty of room and enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor spaces. The views were beautiful and home was well appointed with everything you would want for a vacation stay. We were very happy with the property.

We enjoyed our time at Porter House. Although an older property it had plenty of room for our family of 9. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and equipped with everything we needed. The outside dining table was a lovely place to have dinner. The kitchen was small but well-appointed. We had everything we needed to prepare and serve meals. Everybody was charmed by the decor. The grandkids loved the hot tub. And there were chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, boogie boards for us to use at the beach! We were close to the beach, close to dining and shopping, close to the sea lions at the Cove. I think our favorite parts of the location were the views of the ocean and the cool ocean breezes. Eric was a responsive host also.

Great place to stay! Beautifully landscaped, charming hour, with a grey view of the ocean. Very conveniently located to get to all the beautiviful spots along the coast while located in a quiet, lovely neighborhood. Great service from the host. We had a minor issue in heat g the hot tub and they were available right away and sent someone over who fixed it. Highly recommended!

Our group of five adults absolutely loved our visit to the Porter House, a charming hillside cottage in La Jolla. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the clear attention to detail and the thoughtful amenities throughout the home. The design perfectly captured that classic old California charm while still feeling comfortable and well-appointed.The home was freshly cleaned without a dust-bunny or stained glass to be found, the kitchen was exceptionally well stocked with everything we needed, the bedding was pristine white and fluffy, and the ocean view was simply stunning — the kind you never get tired of waking up to or winding down with in the evening.One particularly special feature was the front garden, enclosed with the most lovely flowers and greenery against the surrounding brick walls, providing a picturesque experience for al fresco dining and camaraderie among the hummingbirds and honeybees. Notable inclusions were the working gas grill, various ocean-view deck seating, hot tub and private en suite lower quarters for those needing additional privacy.The location was another huge highlight. It was perfectly situated between the beach and Mt. Soledad Park National Veterans Memorial, with convenient access to shopping, restaurants, and everything La Jolla has to offer.This home made our stay relaxing, memorable, and effortless. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy, beautiful coastal CA experience

Visited Porter house with a family of 5 (3 kids over 21) and it was absolutely perfect. Extremely clean, fully functioning updated kitchen, enough seating in the living room, and plenty of sleeping space. Views from the back porch can't be beat. There is such charming character in the home, a nice departure from the typical boring, grey modern look. Not having a TV in the living room is a great touch - lead to so much quality time and fun. Only a short drive from the beach, Torrey Pines, & other great spots. Easy for Ubers to navigate! Parking spot fit our large car. The host was very responsive and thorough without being overbearing. Truly a perfect cozy get away in La Jolla!

We had a 3 night stay at this home in LaJolla. Let me start by saying the owner was very responsive overall.This home is tired and old. We appreciated the charm and overall it was clean. The kitchen and shared bath are very old and outdated. The shared bath has an old tub that is very slippery. The owner did get us a rubber mat to help however, then the drain didn’t work. My parents used this bath, so failed to tell me but it was clearly a problem prior to our arrival. One of the bedrooms and laundry are downstairs which is only accessed by going outside. The brick driveway/road is at such a pitch, you don’t dare let go of your suitcase. Parking is very tight and because of the pitch in the driveway, you bottom out no matter what, so much so that it pulled the front of our minivan off. The outdoor furniture is filthy and the railing on the deck is very low. I wouldn’t bring children here. It’s also had patch work repairs when it needs to be rebuilt. This home presents much better in pictures than in person. I had my elderly parents with me and it was cumbersome for them. There is no air conditioning. The windows are very old and most of the screens are ripped so fly/bugs etc are a problem at night when the lights attract them. Downs the extra money and stay somewhere else. I would not stay here again.

The views of this home are amazing! This is a great house with character. All the photos are accurate to what the house looks like and communication from the host was timely. We would absolutely stay here again.
