À propos de cet hébergement
Strathill Villa Marigot, Dominica
Bask in comfort and serenity while you're away from home. The panoramic view alone will bring peace and comfort to your soul. This gorgeous property features 2 bedrooms with a comfortable queen in one, and two(2) full size beds in the other. Perfect for a single person, couple or group of guests. Its location is only FIVE(5) minutes from the Douglas-Charles Airport. It's a two story concrete building, and you would be occupying the lower floor.
The home comes equipped with fridge, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, blender for nature's fresh smoothies, pots and pans, plates, cups, glasses, eating utensils, clothes washer and dryer, iron and ironing board, books, board and card games. Once you've gotten your groceries, you may not want to leave the premises.
This house is completely SOLAR powered, thus lessening the imprint on the environment.
Enjoy the amenities, like an oversized living room with large comfy couches, T.V, WiFi, ceiling fans. Sit back, lay back with the doors open because its a safe environment. Just relax and enjoy Nature Island's natural breezes flowing thru the house. Most of your time will probably be spent on the porch overlooking the breathtaking view of the Atlantic sea. You can watch planes come and leave, and depending on season, you may be lucky to see whales, yes whales, swimming, and frolicking from that very same porch. There are chartered boats(75 minutes away) that can give you a closer view of them. Best to make reservations before you come, cause they only go out on certain days.
There are a few local takeout spots about 10 minutes drive or sit down dining, 25 minutes drive. Here are a few places of interest besides the front porch. Beaches : Sand Bay and Middle Bay (10 minutes) in Marigot, Batibou beach in Calibishie(25 minutes). Most of the beaches on the island tend to be black sand beaches. A unique feature of the island. If you're going to Batibou beach, you must stop by and get a quick tour of The Chocolate Factory in Calibishie . And the views from Red Rock, in close proximity, with it's majestic views are second only to the porch. Hope you have a sense of humor eh. Life is short.
There's a short but cooling river rafting 15 minutes away. There's Emerald Pool(40 minutes) which involves a little bit of hiking and all natural pool with a waterfall helping to form it. Indian River Nature Tour in Portsmouth(55 minutes), where you're introduced to nature's flora from a small canoe, and see where portion of "Pirates of the Caribbean" was filmed.
The Cabrits(65 minutes) is an old fort and museum, in the vicinity of the Indian River tour, so you can do both the same day.
The capital, Roseau, is about 50 minutes from Marigot, where you can get your main shopping done. There are a few stores in Marigot, but you'll get a much larger selection in Roseau. The market in the capital is open Monday to Saturday, but you'll get the freshest veggies on Friday and Saturday. Just come very early(7ish). While in town, visit the Botanic Gardens, where there are plants and trees that can't be found in other parts of the world. You MUST visit the Sulfur Springs in Wattan Waven(Screws, 15 minutes from Roseau). Also Trafalgar Falls, which requires some hiking to get there.
That is just a few of the places you should visit while on this lovely island. The people are friendly and helpful, so feel free to ask questions. Enjoy all that Dominica has to offer, starting with Strathill Villa. Expect to hear birds chirping, roosters crowing, neighbors passing and waving, and if you're lucky, whales swimming. Any questions you have , I'll try to answer as best as I can.
All that I would ask of you is to be considerate with the use of all items there, and try to leave it as clean as you met it. Please avoid using too many electrical appliances at the same time. That could cause solar batteries to drain faster than they should.

Qui vous reçoit ?
Vous êtes reçu par Richworth Philip

I was born on this beautiful island called Dominica. Spent most of my life in New York however. Whenever I'm home(Dominica), I enjoy just relaxing and getting away from the hustle and bustle of the rat race.
Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?
This location, has been handed down from generation to generation, first belonging to my grandfather. I spent many a day and night relaxing, reading and playing cards on the porch with friends and family. It's still ideal for doing just that.
Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?
It probably has one of the best unobstructed views of the ocean in Marigot. On clear days, you can see Guadeloupe and Marie Galante.
