Connect with the whole family at this peaceful home in a lakeside community bordering Green Mountain National Forest. There is EVERYTHING to do here for nature and outdoor recreational enthusiasts.

SUMMER: fishing, swimming, kayaking, and paddle boarding on Big Pond just a few minutes walk from the house. Or visit nearby Woodford State Park - beautiful lake, hikes, and boat rentals. Motorboat and jet skis rentals are available at another nearby lake. Or visit Somerset Reservoir loved by anglers. Be surrounded by endless hiking and biking opportunities including a nearby trailhead that connects to the Long and the Appalachian Trails.

Go West and enjoy the nearby city/town of Bennington, VT (Hey history buffs - visit the Bennington Battlefield (1777) Monument ). Go East and visit Wilmington, quintessential Vermont with antique shops, farm-to-table restaurants, local spas, historic Inns, and Vermont wares (think Maple Syrup and lots of crafts.

First Vrbo booking

First time booking a Vrbo. The area was the best! Lots to do with short driving distances. House was super clean very comfortable and cozy stay. Amenities were top tier! I would absolutely recommend staying here!

Great cottage in a great location

had a wonderful stay at this cottage! The location is fantastic, with easy access to a nearby lake and the town. The rooms and the entire cottage were exceptionally clean, making for a comfortable and pleasant experience. The amenities were a highlight, especially the paddle boards and bikes, which added to the fun and relaxation.

We had a great stay at this cute cottage nestled in the woods. It is comfortable and nicely decorated. There is a country store nearby as well as lakes and hiking trails. We will definitely rent this again if we are ever back in the area. It was my first time in Vermont and I loved it!

I really liked the house. It was very clean. They provided the bedding and towels. The washer and dryer was a plus. We all had fun with the kids playing Yahtzee and Apples to Apples. There’s lots of games for my kids to play. Lots of laughs. The front deck has an amazing view. Lots of mature plants and beautiful flowers. I brought my own sheets to cover the couch bc of my dog. This cabin is dog friendly.

After working many years in the SF Bay area media start-up and events world, Gypsy Rentals is my new adventure. Our goal is to create warm, affordable, interesting, and inviting spaces to share with you. We try to stay true to the home and surrounding nature by using local materials, crafts, "second life" furnishings, and homemade and local art for decor. Each short-term rental property has games, books, outdoor toys, art supplies, and a guitar.
