Opportunité de location très unique qui offre "Le meilleur des deux mondes"! Votre propre maison de location totalement privée sur les contreforts de la chaîne Squam et votre propre quai sur une partie isolée du lac Big Squam. "Blue Gate" comme on l'appelle est une maison de style lodge entourée de centaines d'acres de terrain offrant le summum de l'intimité. Réveillez-vous avec votre tasse de café du matin tout en admirant votre propre étang privé et regardez l'abondance de la faune commencer leur journée. Prenez un canoë ou un kayak et partez pour une pagaie. Si vous avez un bateau à moteur, prenez un court trajet en voiture jusqu'à votre propre quai privé sur Big Squam et passez la journée sur le lac. Terminez la journée avec un barbecue sur la grande terrasse enveloppante, puis passez la soirée assis et profitez d'une nuit remplie d'étoiles tout en écoutant l'appel des huards. Si cela ressemble au paradis, c'est ici et au cœur de la région des lacs.

Amazing location

This house is exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful view off the deck. So peaceful and quiet. So many amazing hiking trails.. our dog especially enjoyed them. Looking forward to coming back again soon!!

Too many Things

all the reviews that I had read nobody spoke too much about the house focused on the property outside the pond, walking trails things like that the first thing that was frustrating was that there were no instructions whatsoever on how anything worked in the house or trails Wifi nothing in writing explaining what’s going on cleanliness in the bureau main bedroom. The bottom two drawers were filled with mouse droppings. The sink in the master bedroom was completely clogged I will say that was addressed very quickly but still…the washing machine when was completely filled with old soggy, smelly towels that I had to take out and put on the side pretty gross. How are they not seein In the bathroom we had to go and take a quarter of a roll that was left in the other bathroom and put in the main bathroom go back out to the store to get toilet paper. We had already shopped to get supplies left two tiny fans for the house and it was unfortunately extremely hot absolutely, no Internet access after signing into the Wi-Fi both on our iPhones, which are up-to-date and a two-year-old laptop that I’ve never had any problems with access in the Internet on all three devices so literally had no access to the Internet, which really messed us up because my wife’s position did she have to check in even on vacation and we had to drive to a place to get Wi-Fi to do that every single day just not a good experience Explanation for Internet access was well it can be funky at times really😦

So private a mountain and pond all to ourselves

I really enjoyed this property, close to Holderness, Squam, and Sandwich notch. Its a great location and yet totally private. No one around you and lots of interesting walking trails. We were glad, considering the current times, to bring our own linens and towels. I had missed that in the description or forgot as we booked 10 months in advance. So note you will need your own bedding and towels. Also the main bathroom shower is only a handheld but if that is an issue there is also a second full bath. If you stay here, evenings on the deck looking at the Squam range with cocktail and snack ends a perfect day in the lakes region.

Peaceful Secluded Nature Retreat

We loved our stay in this beautiful hidden wonderland. The trees, pond, and sunrise view were spectacular. We were close to the rest of our family down on the lake in another rental, but just far enough away to enjoy “some space in our togetherness” and maintain our own allergy-safe kitchen. Hoping to make it a yearly tradition!

Secluded cabin with path around the lake

Location is A+. Walking path around the lake for quick dog walks. Hikes to Mt Morgan and Mt Percival only a 1/4 mile down the road towards Holderness - totally walkable if parking is tight at the trailhead. Walk along the road in opposite direction past the Holderness sign 1/2 mile maybe. To the left is a parking lot. Hike from there to Mt. Double Head or from the other side of street via Col trail to the Rattlesnake Trails. Cabin is nice. Could use some more kitchen stuff like more baking sheets. Going to the washer and dryer in the basement is quite an adventure, and whoever wired the light switches and outlets - I don’t know what they were thinking - but such quirks are part of the experience of being so secluded. Definitely check out the boat dock that comes with the house - ideal to go kayaking there.

A peaceful retreat

Initial reaction? Stunned by the quiet and the beauty of the place. Longer reaction? Rapt. What a beautiful place, and the sounds of bird and frog, the wind in the trees, the ever-changing vista of water and mountain and cloud: thoroughly restorative and captivating. Hard to contemplate leaving even for groceries. We have every hope of returning as time and opportunity permit.

A beautiful secluded cabin in Holderness.

Our week at Blue Gate was great. It was perfect for two couples, as we each had our own bedroom and bath on either side of the beautiful main room with huge windows looking out over a private pond. It is set back off the main road, no neighbors, you have total privacy. The dirt road that surrounded the pond was perfect for walking our dog. From our home base here we explored Sandwich, Center Harbor, Meredith and took an awesome boat tour to see the loons on Squam Lake. We also hiked in the Chapman/Visny Woods, climbed Red Hill and made our way up the the notch further into the White Mountains. There is no AC or ceiling fans, so bring your own fans if you expect a stretch of hot weather (usually not an issue in NH, but this summer was unusually hot at times). That said,we were fine the week we were there. I am happy to recommend this property as a fine rental from which to enjoy beautiful NH!
