My wife and I really enjoyed our trip here. The location was great. Host was very easy to work with. The rental is as advertised. Based on all our rental experience the cleanliness was good. The only real downside is you can hear street noise. Early morning trucks making deliveries. And late night cars/motorcycles especially on the weekend. That being said, we would stay here again.
An excellent location to the beach and Diamond Head. No surprises, the condo is exactly how it is shown online. Ensure you check out the sunset on the 10th floor. It is excellent! Had no issues and was able to contact Alexei via phone immediately.
My mom and I stayed her for a few nights and it was just what we needed. Amazing location and comfortable room. Keypad entrance was nice and we felt very safe.
My partner and I have stayed in this property about 6 times, so goes without saying that this is our condo of choice. Serene views up to Diamond Head, a block from the beach, high enough to not hear the road noise. Our perfect stay.
Loved our stay at this property. Gracious attentive hosts. Friendly desk staff. Easy walk to everything. Awesome view, could even see the flamingos at the zoo. Spotlessly clean. Would definitely book this property again!
We loved our Vrbo! The staff at WaikÄ«kÄ« Grand were so kind and helpful. It was the perfect location since we were able to find free parking for our car only a block away but weâre able to walk to most places in the area. Alexei was a great host and very communicative!
This vrbo is excellent. The location is perfect. Just a block off the beach. Our room had great views of Diamondhead and the ocean. Lots to eat and do nearby. Try teddys burgers just off the lobby.
The owner Alexei is very attentive and responds immediately. Would definitely there again.
I've stayed in this part of Waikiki before and wish I had known about this place! It had everything we needed, was very clean, has a nice kitchen and bathroom - fully stocked, and a very comfortable bed. The view of Diamond Head and the beach from the patio is incredible! Front desk staff were friendly and the owner Alexei was great to deal with as well. I read some of the reviews about the noise level from the bar below, but as this rental is on the 6th floor, we didn't hear anything. Would highly recommend staying here and definitely plan to book my future vacations in Oahu there!
I lived in the Waikiki jungle back in the 1960âs. Itâs so very different now, but when I stay at the Waikiki Grand and look over the park and ocean, I can forget about the concrete jungle behind me. Alexeiâs unit has everything you need and I was able to cook my own meals for 2 weeks with no trouble. Safeway is just a nice long walk or bus ride away. Queens Surf beach is right there out your window! This unit is lovely with upscale lighting, comfy bed, great cable and WiFi, and amazing view.
Great location and cute place with incredible views!
We loved this place for a short stay in Waikiki! We picked this place for the proximity to the beach, but mostly because it was convenient for us because we were there for a friend's wedding and the wedding events were close by, but once we were there we thought it was a great location in general. We thought the view would be good, the view is gorgeous (especially when you're sitting on the balcony because you can see views in both directions. The place itself is pretty small, but really all you need for a short stay for 2 (we were there 4 nights). The bed is firm but comfortable, also a bit small, but depends on what you're used to (we have a King at home). The condo building itself is nothing special, but the location can't be beat if you want to be in Waikiki. Lots of stuff near by for food, beach is literally steps away across the street. We were so happy we booked this instead of the hotel room we were going to book at the Park Shore literally next door... for less money then their no view, tiny room... this condo has an incredible view and I'm sure more space, as well as a kitchen that has all you really need. The pool at this condo's building is probably the only con, but we didn't need it or even think about using a pool at all since we'd rather be at the beach. Thanks again, Alexei and Matthew!
Great location along the edge of the hotels next to the zoo. Easy beach access. Walking trails, groceries, restaurants nearby. We found free parking near zoo and park within walking distance. Expect city noise. Kitchenette very handy. Great views from the balcony-beach/ocean in one direction and Diamondhead in the other.
Absolutely fabulous - perfect for a couple to enjoy the quiet(er) side of Waikiki!
Pros:
- The view is stunning - from Diamond Head to the beach, with very few hotels in the distance. We were there in November and we could watch both the sunrise over Diamond Head and the sunset over the beach from the Lanai.
- The room had a perfect little kitchen for those that want to cook breakfast or a light meal and then get to the beach. They had everything you would need for cooking right there!
- The beach! This location is super close to the beach and snorkeling. My husband and I snorkeled almost every day! We even saw an octopus on the reef right by our VRBO!
- The bed is SUPER comfortable, and I loved the pillows.
- The A/C was strong and consistent.
- The lanai is such a treat, whether it's to dry your towels or enjoy a cocktail, or just enjoy the evening. We sat on it every morning and night. It is fabulous.
- Convenience overall is wonderful. There are ABC stores all over, there are a couple of great bars and food joints right around the corner as well. (We liked Lulu's for lunch and beverages, and the "Deck." is a must for dinner.)
- This location is on the quiet side of Waikiki because it is kind of at the "end" of the strip. The zoo is right next door, and parkland makes up most of the view. If you like a little people watching but not so much the crowds, this is for you.
- The staff at the desk was very friendly and welcoming. Elevators worked well. The lobby was very well maintained. Check out the 10th floor!
- Free parking nearby!
- The owners, Alexei, checking in on us a couple times. Super nice!!
Not Cons! But some realities of a week in this VRBO - the unit needs a little TLC.
- The shower water takes a while to get hot, so let it run, but not close to the door because the seal to the floor doesn't work properly and will get the bathroom soaked.
- The closet doors aren't super friendly to open/shut, but they work. We found we didn't like to use it because of the door.
- There is not a lot of room for your luggage. If you are staying over a week, it will take some thinking for how to use the unit while accessing all your stuff. We had floaties and two huge suitcases and backpacks. We made it work.
- There are fabulous lounge chairs in the room (we thought they were super comfy), but they are shedding their leather horribly on the armrests. I'm not sure this is fixable, so they might just need to be replaced.
Overall, we think this was the PERFECT place to stay for our first trip to Hawaii.
We're a couple of Seattle transplants, that just recently started to grow our Hawaiian roots. It has been our favorite vacation spot for over 15 years, now we can finally call it our home. This charming studio is our second acquisition on the island, and we are happy to share it with visitors to the beautiful Hawaii.
Only steps away from the most famous beach in the world, it offers an a amazing, incomparable view of the Ocean, and Diamond Head at the same time. On the edge of the Kapiolani Park, this view is preserved forever. It offers the best of the both worlds: hotel amenities, plus convenience of your own kitchen, at small fraction of the price, that a comparable hotel suite with the similar view would charge.
We fell in love with the view, it still has that old charm of beautiful Hawaiian nature, long lost elsewhere in the hustle and bustle of the major tourism mecca of Waikiki.
