We are located just above Hulas Bar & Lei stand at The Waikiki Grand Hotel - Being a bar this unit will hear bar noise etc. and has been priced accordingly.
great stay Perfect location best value you will find in the area . Clean , and in the best location . The view is first class . not quite , you in the middle of it all at the beach life !
I enjoyed staying at this place, a little small for the price but loved the location, a couple things to fix at the condo, shower water knob loose, needs adjusting, dirty ceiling fan, everything else was great!
Great property, close to the beach and stores and restaurants. It is above Hula's bar which can be loud some nights and really nice music or open mikes some nights. Our room was a VRBO and had everything we needed for 8 days except the microwave didn't work but we managed with pots and pans. Also, we only got a towel exchange once which was fine for the bathroom towels but beach towels every other day would have been better. View of the zoo and the ocean. Busy road out front but always entertaining to people watch and it quites down by 10:30pm.would stay in this building again.
Great stay! It had a beautiful view (its facing the zoo), easy check in/check out, less than a block from the beach, tons of shopping and restaurants close by, comfy bed, had everything we needed! We knew from reading reviews that it was over a bar, but with the ac running, it wasnt a big deal. Really enjoyed our stay!
The studio/property is close to the beach, the zoo, and all the shops and restaurants in Waikiki. And it was a great price, clean and had all the amenities that we needed for our stay.
As a fellow host I feel it's important to list pros and cons fairly to inform fellow travelers.Pros:- amazing location, right by some great surf spots- free parking very close by- well stocked apartment with plenty of towels and all the necessary amenities (including some very necessary ear plugs!)Cons:- very tired property, in desperate need of renovation. That goes for both the common areas (lobby, corridors etc) and the apartment itself (bath tub and curtains badly stained etc)- very noisy apartment, on the third floor just above a loud bar that has regular entertainment until late night and a noisy parking lot and street..- very small room, ideal for singles or intimate couples, as you won't get much privacy from each other - wall ac unit is quite old and very badly placed right next to your head when you're in bedHaving said that we still had a great time on the island, the apartment was a good enough base to explore the rest of the island.
This little slice of heaven was just what mu husband and i needed. The check in process was easy, the apartment was clean and cute. It has a gorgeous view of the ocean and the zoo right off the balcony. We stayed for a week and were able to see so much due to its convenient location to everything! Wonderful stay, would do it again!
Great location. East Waikiki. From balcony could see Dimondhead behind zoo and to right beach / beautiful water. Enjoyed Hulus gay bay in hotel. All kinds of restaurants in area.
The only issue was the bar which was one floor below the room. The issue will not stop me from staying at this location again. I recommend this hotel for anyone
We absolutely loved our stay. The room was perfect for the two of us, and the location just couldnât be beat. We were able to walk to diamond head, the beach, and anywhere in Waikiki without problem. The noise other reviews have stated was never too bad or an issue, but that could also be us just being young haha! The property manager was so kind and helpful as well. Totally recommend!
The listing was very accurate. The bar downstairs is a little noisy but I just turned the TV on until I fell asleep. The bar is only open til 11 on week days so not that bad. The bed was comfortable and the location was great. If you have a vehicle be sure to reserve the parking garage spot or you'll be searching for a parking spot. The zoo is a great place to park after 8 pm. I'd definitely book this spot again.
Really nice place. Clean, great location, and nice staff. The room was smaller then anticipated and the noise from the nightclub was overwhelming most nights for a few hours. We will stay here again, but not above the club. Even with good earplugs, the noise kept us awake.
Weâre right above a bar played music loud from 8 AM yesterday morning on a Sunday till 2 AM.
We had a brush her teeth in the kitchen sink because thereâs no filter and no water pressure in the so-called bathroom.
Overall was a decent place to sleep. Very clean. As advertised in the listing it is directly above a popular bar that is rowdy until 2am. Thursday seemed to be the quiet night. However, I was not bothered by the noise from the bar I was more so bothered by the very thing sliding glass windows that did no justice in blocking out the city noise or the noise from those walking the sidewalk below the room. If quiet is your thing this place is not for you. The kitchen sink backed up several times while I was there and it was brought to the hosts attention.
Our first impression was how dirty the unit was. As soon as we walked in we could see the lack of cleaning. Between the cupboards, vents, floors, shower, and AC unit, it was noticeably dirty. It definitely needs more extensive cleaning. It was hard to relax and be comfortable with how dirty everything looked and felt. It was also very run down. The chairs on the patio they provided for us were fragile and broken when we arrived, so we had to bring the chairs from inside outside to sit on the patio and enjoy the view. The inside bar was also broken, couldnât even be used really. The host responded to all my questions/concerns in a timely manner. Even sent up help when requested. No complaints there. The nightclub located under us really didnât bother us at all, and we knew of it before hand. They even provided earplugs for those who need them. But with the TV on, we could hardly even tell. Overall not a terrible place to stay, it served its purpose for us. But we definitely wonât be coming back.
Iâll start by saying Mark was very communicative and kind. However, this listing was not an enjoyable stay for my girlfriend and I. The unit is very loud with street noise all night, as well as being directly above a bar that plays loud music until 2:00 am. You can hear patrons and bass bumping all night. While we knew the unit would be small, we were surprised by the actual size compared to the photos, and the bed was very hard. Parking is also very difficult, as you must either pay $30 a day for the small lot they have ( if youâre lucky) or find street parking (if youâre lucky). If you want to be in the heart of the bustling downtown energy this is for you, but if you are looking to relax it might be a little bit tough at this place. We ended up booking a different hotel, even though we had payed for 2 more nights here.
This was accurate to the listing except there is actually more street noise that was more irritating than the bar noise below!
The unit did not feel super clean and the floor on the balcony was very dirty.
We were told our key code but the unit did not have a keypad and we had to check in at the desk to get a card. That was confusing! Parking is tight and I was glad I booked us a space for the stay.
Lastly we had a couple walk into our unit with a key card on the second to last day. They had been assigned the same room that we had for one more night. I left message with the manager but never heard back. I realize We should have had the inside lock on. But we were also concerned if we had not been in the unit if someone could have taken anything they wanted!!
We would not stay here again if we came back but it was a convenient location for getting around the island.
Mark was a good host and was very quick at responding! We enjoyed the location as it is close to the quieter end of the beach so you could get a great spot at any time of the day. They had some fun additions such as beach chairs and decorations for the room that added a nice touch.
We wish it had been more clear in the ad the volume and amount of noise that we would hear from the street and the bar, as the street noise was loud at all times of the day, and the bar noise was very loud every night until 2am, starting at 11am on Saturday. This was extremely disruptive and made it hard to enjoy the stay. The place seemed relatively clean, but we noticed dried food on the cutlery and the sinks backed up and filled with dirt throughout our stay, which was concerning and seemed unsanitary as we were drinking the tap water which did not taste good (expect to buy bottled!). The suite was supposed to come with an iron and ironing board, and when I requested one I was told someone would bring one up which they never did. The check in process was also confusing as we were given a code to use for the suite door even though there was no keypad, and you had to use the keys the hotel provided.
The place was alright at the end of the day and got us through our trip, but we wouldnât stay here again.
