We were right next to the pool. It was nice to sit on the patio of our condo and watch the kids in the pool. The spot along the river was adventurous. We will for sure book again.

Don’t stay with this property. They take pride and pleasure in fines, fees, predatory towing practices and they do not have any interest in taking care of their patrons.

Craig, Thank you for your review. We are sorry that your parking pass slipped down and was not visible. There is nothing we can or could have done about that, we are the property management company for the specific unit you rented out. The HOA has a contract with Will Tow, and unfortunately, your vehicle having a non-visible parking tag made you in violation of the parking requirements. We understand that in the heat of the moment, feelings and blame are hot and heavy, but it’s very disheartening that you left a review stating we offered no assistance. Not only did we call Will Tow multiple times for you, but, we also immediately filed a complaint with the HOA company regarding your specific towing situation. We also didn't immediately evict you on Sunday after we found that you had brought an unapproved/unauthorized pet in the unit and had it on the furniture. On top of that, we gave you a late checkout (2pm instead of 11am) at no additional fee for you to sort out your vehicle situation. We advise that you leave a review for Will Tow on their business page, stating your frustrations regarding the fact that they were not on site, nor answering their phones. We appreciated your notification to our company that you had to contact the San Marcos PD to get Will Tow to respond to your phone calls to reclaim your vehicle. We wish you the best and are disappointed with the outcome of your stay.

It’s very quiet now but might change once warmer weather comes. The pool is always clean. Their response to maintenance request was fast. Some utinsels were lacking as was cleaning supplies. Not a big deal.

The place was clean and the AC good . Pool was nice and over all not bad . Due to the beds we would most likely not stay back at this # but other than that it was nice . The only other thing is it need better window covers , the light outside at night was so bright it was hard to sleep you felt like it was daylight .

Even though the deer wandered around it didn’t seem to bother her. The stained carpet, from previous dogs, offered her a lot of sniffing and back rubbing. We are within walking distance of many restaurants and within two miles of many grocery stores and the tourist town of Gruen. Our disappointment, not their fault, was the lack of fish in the river at the back of the property and the chilly, rainy weather. I guess it was the reasonable price that lured us here. It’s no Florida, thankfully.

Our Two Month Escape

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed Water Wheel properties. The grounds were well maintained. The pool was immaculate. Unfortunately, the river had no fish which was one of our favorite pastimes. Everything was within two to three miles. You could walk to the downtown. Lots of restaurants. I walked the dog daily through the old grave yards reading the stones and eventually reading the history. The unit was very comfortable for our stay. Because it was a dog friendly unit the carpet was stained and our small dog enjoyed rubbing her back on it to pick up the scents. I will say she was very respectful and did not have any accidents while there. The beds were comfortable and there was adequate storage for clothes. Management was very quick to respond to needs. We are going back next year to the same unit.

EXTREMELY disappointing foe price paid!!!!!

Other than access to the river, the experience was terrible… where do I begin…the only “ greeting that we received when we arrived was that our car was going to be towed away if we didn’t hurry up snd get parking tag in car; the outdoor patio glass top table that was literally on its last legs, afraid to use it as its going to collapse at any time; cigarette butts sitting by pool steps left sitting over weekend; - disgusting; broken rusty gate with jagged edges at larger pool which potentially could have been much worse for my 6 yr old granddaughter than “just” a painful cracked toenail, a dryer inside that took three cycles to dry a few towels, loud partying past midnight outside on premises;; both towel racks in bathrooms not securely fastened to wall, so unusable, but most bothersome were Teflon pots and pans whose Teflon coating was more scratched off than on - a true safety hazard for cooking and the terribly dirty coffee pot - these latter things made the whole condo seem unclean and certainly not comfortable cooking there. For what we paid, you could afford to have clean usable cooking items., efficient appliance and furnishings. So terribly disappointing!

We appreciate honest reviews as they help us to enhance our services to both the guests and to the owners. The HOA of Waterwheel has implemented a strong parking policy on the property as many people that do not belong on the property try to enjoy it. There have been numerous cars towed that the guests had not displayed their parking tags and the property management companies and security are very much trying to keep the guests informed about the display of the parking tags. We will send your concerns of the cigarette butts and the gate to the HOA property management company (which is not us) to have them addressed. Forhe remaining concerns we are sending maintenance out to evaluate. Had the guest called us during their reservation we would have addressed it immediately..

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First, let me say that the management company was excellent. They were super nice people, and very accommodating of us. Unfortunately, the property itself just wasn't a good match for us. I took my wife, 2 kids, and 2 of their friends for a short trip before school started. I had a tough time finding anything, and ultimately had to rent this property. We pulled in to find apartments that had been converted to "condos". There were tons of construction right next to us, but the worst was just the partying that went on at night - people grilling off of their patios, security guards walking up and down the parking lots, cars driving through with their stereos cranked up... I sound old, but it was miserable. This would have been great 20 years ago. But, not for families with kids.
