Welcome to Almost Paradise, a 3 bedroom 2 bath tropical home tucked away onFlamingo Island. This tiny ocean side island is off the beaten path yet minutes from charter boats, grocery stores, pharmacy, airport, Crane Point Nature Center, the famous Turtle Hospital, cafes, shopping, library, and picturesque Sombrero Beach, with its white sand and graceful coconut palms. For the more adventuresome, Key West is only an hour away.

The house has French doors opening onto a second floor screened porch and wraparound walkway. Furnished with one king bed, two queens, washer/dryer, TV/WiFi, fully equipped kitchen, barbeque grill, central air and more.

Tie up at our 28 ft dock on a deep water canal that connects to Sisters Creek. East Sisters entrance gives ocean access to offshore fishing for sailfish and marlin, or diving at Sombrero Lighthouse.

Take West Sisters entrance and slip under the Seven Mile Bridge into the Gulf of Mexico. Try your luck at back country fly fishing for tarpon, bonefish and permit. Surrounded by endless sea and sky, kayak, paddle board, snorkel, wade or explore. Share the solitude of quieter waters with cavorting dolphins, soaring eagles, ospreys, man-o-war birds, clownish pelicans, and majestic wading birds.

At home, enjoy morning coffee at eye level with hummingbirds sipping nectar in the orange geiger blossoms. Watch white ibis foraging in the garden. The house, designed to catch the tradwinds, has ceiling fans in every room, making air conditioning an option. Fall asleep to rustling palms and tarpon splashng off the dock. Our full moon is so bright it casts shadows and on moonless nights, the dark sky is sequined with constellations and planets. Occasionally, you'll catch a satellite moving through the heavens. Best time to see the Internationl Space Station is 45 to 60 minutes after sunset or 45 to 60 minutes before sunrise. Liven up those dark nights with stargazing and a little romance.

Come and discover the Florida Keys, an archipelago of more than 1,000 tropical islands. Swim, dive, fish, shop, golf, dine, kayak, birdwatch, read, nap in a hammock, simply work on your tan, or maybe even fall in love.

Please note that if you plan on bringing or renting a boat, jet skis or other water crafts, we can only guarantee that one will fit at the dock. Maximum boat length will be 25 feet. Please make sure to confirm the dock size, space for trailer parking, and if more than one vessel is allowed. This property allows ONE boat & ONE trailer only. No dishwasher in this unit.

This property is dog friendly so you are required to select the pet fee option when booking if you are bringing a dog. All dogs must be approved prior to booking - dogs under 50lbs only. There are breed restrictions due to insurance reasons. Pet fee is non refundable & taxable. If you are booking on Airbnb ~ the pet fee will be asked for after booking as it will not be included in total cost. The fee is based on the breed & size. Dog friendly only - NO cats or other animals. Max allowed is 2. Failure to disclose the dog and pay the pet fee will result in a charge up to $500 and asked to vacate without a refund. No cats or other animals allowed at this property.
