This updated 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with private canal lot is located in the heart of The Florida Keys in Marathon at Mile Marker 48.5. Convenient to all of the Keys! Our new 50â seawall allows dockage of vessels up to 40â - and, yes (!) we have PLENTY OF SPACE to park your boat trailer! No need to pay off site storage! Our new 14â x 8âx 4' Swimspa pool completes the ideal Keys Oasis for your tropical getaway! Located at the end of a quiet, dead end, residential street just off US 1, The Overseas Highway, âBoot Key Bungalowâ offers canal access and dockage on our private beach lot directly across the (very narrow and quiet) street from the home. Our front balcony and screen porch overlook the lot and canal so you can always have an eye on your boat! Spend your afternoons waterside under our sail shade, fishing from the dock, or tanning from our loungers at our private canal lot.
Boot Key Bungalowâs water access is a 50â new dock and seawall on a wide, deep water canal less than 200 yards from Boot Key Harbour, home to the ever popular Dockside Grill, Burdines and Chiki Tiki Grill, and just around the corner by water from the beginning of the famous Seven Mile Bridge. Sombrero Reef, with its crystal clear water, is a snorklers and divers delight which can be reached in a very short boat ride! You can be in the wide open Atlantic or the Gulf in a matter of minutes from the house. Bring your own boat, rent one here or charter a fishing or dive/snorkel trip. The options are truly endless! Beautiful Sombrero Beach is just a kayak paddle away through Boot Key Harbor in one of the 3 provided kayaks or explore the endless mangrove trails! You're also within walking distance of our favorite restaurant, coffee shop, art gallery, dive shop, bar, and even The Turtle Hospital!
Closer to home, you can clean your day's catch waterside at our fish cleaning station, wash away the heat and salt of the day in our private outdoor shower and settle in for some relaxation or swimming in our 14' heated (or not!), jetted swimming pool spa. Our screen porch is a perfect setting to enjoy your morning coffee, your nightcap, and everything in between! Our outside entertainment area on the ground level is set up with teak dining tables, a large gas grill, and a television with DishTV programming. For the more energetic, you can drop the provided kayaks in the water and explore Boot Key and the surrounding canals. You're likely to see Manatee, Dolphin and a wide range of fish and other wildlife!
Indoors, you'll find Boot Key Bungalow very accommodating for your vacation needs and comfort. The amply supplied kitchen provides everything you should require for preparing the simplest to the extravagant meal. With an open floor plan that keeps everyone together, youâre never left out when on "kitchen duty"! Our indoor dining table seats 6 as well as another dining table on the screen porch. The living area with our large sectional sofa is perfect for air conditioned relaxation or television viewing with our internet capable and DishTV programmed television. We have 2 bedrooms which feature queen size beds and one bedroom with a full bed. Thereâs plenty of closet and drawer space in all! The master bedroom (with TV) has its own bathroom with shower and the other 2 bedrooms (one with TV), share a totally renovated bath with tub/shower combination. The washer and dryer allow you to pack less and return home with clean clothes! And rest assured, the home has central air conditioning for reprieve from your tropical vacation!

We are ensuring the health and well being of each future guest by following CDC guidelines to thoroughly disinfect and sanitize with an EPA Approved Disinfectant all hard surfaces, door knobs, remote controls, faucets, cabinet pulls and other areas in order to protect against COVID 19 and itâs variants. Unlike a hotel or resort, this is our personal home and we take pride in our high standard of hygiene for ourselves and our guests.
We're in the perfect spot for walking or bicycling as we're less than a mile from Publix, West Marine, a variety of bait and tackle shops, the 33rd Street Public Boat Ramp, The Turtle Hospital, Walgreens, Home Depot, and a large variety of restaurants, including ocean front grills and bars! Boot Key Bungalow, and our 2 bedroom sister home across the street, Twin Dolphin, truly couldn't be in a more convenient location by land or water. Come explore the Florida Keys at your home away from home, Boot Key Bungalow!
Please note, our home is a well constructed single family home with a large yard and trees! Be sure to do your homework as many listings in the area are mobile homes situated on concrete slabs with no yard and the next mobile home just an arms length away. There will be no unpleasant surprises if you decide to vacation at Boot Key Bungalow! Please note, the street level is for parking and one of our entertainment areas; however, access to the living area is up one flight of wide stairs with rails on both sides. We've owned the home across the street, VRBO # 1027392, since 2010 and decided to offer it as a vacation rental in 2017. We received so much enjoyment from opening our home to others that we followed that vacation rental with 4 others: one in central FL (VRBO #1090075) and three in the Smoky Mountains of Western NC (VRBO #'s 1110772; 7935707 and 9453752). We are a VRBO Premier Partner on all of our homes which are all rated 4.98-5.0 on a 5.0 scale! Our original love is the Keys so when we had the opportunity to purchase this home from our beloved neighbor in July, 2021, we felt we could create another idyllic tropical getaway for our family, and yours, to enjoy!
