Downstairs there are 2 bedrooms-- one has a tempurpedic queen and twin bed; the other a twin bed with ensuite bathroom. There is a laundry room downstairs. There are multiple outdoor seating areas: a lawn with hammock, a grill and firepit. Blithedale Canyon trails lead to hiking and biking trails up Mt. Tamalpais and to the beach. Muir Woods is a 15 min. drive and multiple beaches are 30 minutes or less. Take the ferry to San Francisco from Sausalito or Tiburon (the neighboring towns) or a convenient bus from downtown Mill Valley.
We used this beautiful home as the base for our family reunion with children living nearby and children coming in from elsewhere. It was a hugh success! They loved gathering at the house during the day and sometimes for dinner and then all of us off together for biking and hiking up Mount Tamalpais. The adult grand children took the ferry to San Fran to stay and party with their cousins all weekend. It is a wonderful home and it makes you wish you knew the people who lived there. Especially loved their books and their bed room. Sleeping there was like living in a tree house. WE would do it again for sure. Marge Gordon
The house was great for our week-long stay in Mill Valley. Plenty of room for 5 adults and everything was as presented in the listing. Perfect location for anything you want to do while visiting the Bay Area.
This was the perfect house for our family Christmas reunion.
The superb location allowed for easy, beautiful trail walks to the town centre of Mill Valley, and the property itself was a little "Eden" of terraces, gardens, fabulous trees and foliage and views. The house accommodated us all very well and the large family style kitchen/dining room and large living room were particularly well suited to be the heart of activity - furnished for maximum comfort and people flow. Most impressively was the atmosphere of the house: it exuded well being and happiness and generosity from the owners.
We would definitely return for another holiday here!
We purchased the property because we loved the town and setting. The house is on a gentle south facing slope with flat land, a nice stroll across a creek and through the redwoods to the town-- a great market, theaters (movie, playhouse and music venues) and coffee houses. And very safe for kids. The house is in a very quiet neighborhood, full of light filtered through trees and surrounded by nature. We can walk or mountain bile from the house on to trails leading to Mt. Tam and as far as the beach. Or we can ride a bike along the bike path to Sausalito for more restaurants with bay views and take the bikes to San Francisco.
