Ship’s Light parcourt Cross Street depuis Chatham Village Centre depuis plus de 180 ans. Construit et occupé par certains des résidents les plus éminents de Chatham depuis 1825, il a été converti en quatre appartements d'entretien ménager pour les visiteurs d'été vers 1945. Restaurée avec amour par les propriétaires actuels de longue date, cette gracieuse maison antique offre un confort et une commodité modernes avec le caractère et le charme d'une époque révolue.

Nommé pour ma grand-mère, l'appartement «Lena Coleman» est un joyau de trois pièces, une chambre, récemment rénové. Aérée et lumineuse, la cuisine dînatoire possède une baie vitrée, avec une table et des chaises rondes en chêne et un lustre en vitrail; le salon accueillant a construit des armoires et un siège de fenêtre confortable, deux chaises confortables et une télévision à écran plat. Une connexion Wi-Fi est disponible dans toute la maison. Parfait pour un couple, la chambre a un lit queen confortable et un plafond en lambris naturel avec poutres apparentes. Le bain est joliment carrelé avec un lavabo en marbre et une lumière du ciel. Profitez de votre café du matin sur le toit-terrasse privé avec votre bien-aimé ou regardez le coucher du soleil tout en sirotant un verre de vin. Le charme de l'appartement est encore renforcé par la lueur chaleureuse des planchers anciens en pin magnifiquement remis à neuf et posés à la main. Il est également très confortable en basse saison, avec une merveilleuse chaleur rayonnante.

Idéalement située à une courte distance de marche d'excellents restaurants, boutiques et concerts de groupes de Chatham, la maison est à trois pâtés de maisons de la plage d'eau salée de la ville sur Oyster Pond et à 1,6 km de la plage de la Garde côtière, une grande étendue de l'océan Atlantique et des dunes. De nombreux individus, couples et familles élargies considèrent Ship’s Light comme leur maison de vacances. Nous vous invitons à les rejoindre pour faire de vos vacances quelque chose de spécial.

L'appartement Lena Coleman au Ship’s Light est disponible pour les séjours de 3 nuits et plus pendant l'été et les saisons intermédiaires et les séjours de 2 nuits et plus pendant la morte-saison. Fantastic place!

I had a wonderful time in the Lena Coleman unit at Ship's Light. It is beautifully renovated and well appointed with everything I needed including a very comfortable bed and a balcony to watch the passers-by and sip my tea. The location couldn't be better: it's a short walk to the Chatham shops in one direction, to a salt water pond (and swimming) in another, and (my favorite) to Lighthouse Beach, where I started and ended many of my days with a long beach walk. Allison is a wonderful host, easy to reach and very helpful. I'll be returning here. Highly recommend!

Chatham town

Great location—Chatham is an exceptionally charming town on the cape—very good bed, walking distance to shops and restaurants. Good for a couple. Some minor details that could be improved (need new microwave, kitchen cold water tap groaning). Chatham is a great location for exploring the national seashore (Eastham) and also enjoying historic Chatham itself.

The property was cute and as described on the listing. The only complaint we would have is that it is extremely dark at night and since we checked in much later than expected it was a little rough to find the actual entrance. Overall very happy with our stay here.

5th year in Chatham at Ship's Light!

Allison and her team have created a unique sanctuary with all the comforts of home in an affordable, well-located apartment in the beautiful town of Chatham. This is our fifth year in the Lena Coleman suite and for the first time, stayed for two weeks to have the time to enjoy all that Cape Cod has to offer. I highly recommend Ship's Light and specifically, the Lena Coleman apartment for couples or small families.

This was my second year at this location. It is just perfect and I looked forward to returning all year. Very clean and very well appointed - everything you could need is there. Neighborhood is so quiet and peaceful with pleasant walks in every direction.

This is our 4th time staying in the Lena Coleman apt. It is clean and has everything two people need for an enjoyable stay. It is two blocks from Main St and many dining options and a pleasant walk to the lighthouse and beach. We keep coming back because it has everything needed for a relaxing vacation in Chatham.

Cutest getaway

This is the second time we have stayed at this property, first time in the off season and we loved it just as much as the first time! It’s in the best neighborhood and we were able to walk downtown each day. Very clean, all the amenities matched our needs. It was really nice to have towels and sheets available that we didn’t have to bring. The bed was also very comfortable. Can’t wait to return!

Historic Chatham Gem

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Ship's Light, in the Lena Coleman suite. It was very nice! The bed was comfortable, and the living area and kitchen were great. The apartment was beautifully decorated, with painted walls in pretty sea glass tones, and lovely artwork. A beautiful stained glass chandelier hangs over the dining table. All of the kitchenware we needed to make meals for ourselves ensuite was available. We especially enjoyed sitting on the rooftop deck, accessible from the bedroom. It was a fabulous spot to enjoy our evening cocktails. There is a pull curtain that separates the bathroom from the bedroom area, and that was fine. It does provide adequate privacy. We will definitely stay here again!

Excellent Location, tough for tall people

Overall, this stay and host were incredible! We were in town for a wedding and the location could not be beat. Unfortunately, we are both over 6' and the ceilings made it difficult to stand up straight when navigating bedroom, bathroom and shower. I would not recommend for anyone over 5'8" but overall, good experience.

Great place near center of town.

This is the second time we've stayed in the Lena Coleman apartment and hope to stay there again the next time we're in Chatham. Overall, the apartment is comfortable and close to Main Street and the beach. It's in a nice quiet neighborhood and if the weather is good, I'd recommend sitting out on the balcony. Allison, the owner, is very responsive. We don't have any major complaints. The microwave could be updated.

This is the third time we’ve rented the Lena Coleman suite with Allison. The unit has everything we need to feel at home within this beautiful town. The check-in process is simple, the apartment is very clean, well-stocked and in the best location in Chatham. We walk everywhere - the beach, downtown, the fish pier, and to Chatham Bars Inn for evening cocktails. We look forward to this relaxing vacation every year!

Ship’s Light -Lena Coleman Apartment in Chatham, MA

My sister and I took a sister vacation and came upon the ship’s Light home in Vrbo and wanted to try the quaint historic little place. The apartment for 2 people was a great place to stay. This upstairs homey place has a window seat that you can sit and read a book or just relax. Also there is a great balcony that looks out over the front street in this quiet neighborhood, which I think is the best outside place to sit out of all 4 apartments. It is walking distance to Main Street shopping and eating and a short drive to the beach and fish market where your can see the seals waiting for fish scraps when the fishermen clean their boats after turning in their catch of the day. If you are looking for a place in Chatham, MA. I would recommend any of the apartments in this lovely house.

My family has owned and loved Ship's Light since the mid-1970s. In the early 1990s, my partner and I renovated the Lena Coleman apartment and have spent many weeks and weekends fixing it up and finally after a few years, relaxing in it! It has been a labor of love to work on this lovely house over the decades and it evokes in me strong childhood memories of my grandmother. She looked forward to the summers when her long-time renters would return to visit, bringing with them stories of their winter months and great friendships built over many years.

In 2010 we bought another house in Chatham and are busy fixing it up. Though we can hardly bear to rent out our beautiful apartment, we do take great pleasure in knowing that others will get to build their memories in our dear Ship's Light.

Located on a quiet street just off Main Street, Ship's Light is perfectly located and convenient to everything. You can walk downtown to shop in Chatham's great stores, enjoy a meal at a great restaurant, get ice cream and attend Friday night Band Concerts; it’s a short walk to the public library and Methodist, Episcopal and Congregational churches; other churches are also nearby. Chase Park and the grist mill are right around the corner; Oyster Pond (a nice swimming beach) is a short 1/4 mile stroll; the Atlantic Ocean is about 1 mile away. Visitors love to sit and read on the porches and decks overlooking Cross Street and Shattuck Place; from these private perches you can put your feet up and watch the world go by.
