Le Daguerre : Classic French Apartment on Trendy Rue Daguerre

This classic French apartment is nestled in the very historical, stimulating area named Montparnasse, which hosted some of the greatest artists like Picasso, Chagall and Gauguin.
In the neighborhood's zenith, cafés like Le DÎme, La Closerie des Lilas, La Coupole - all of which are still in business - were a lifeline to the struggling artists and writers who populated Montparnasse.

Le Daguerre is located between the avenues of General Leclerc and Maine, it has an almost French village atmosphere.
Strolling the Rue Daguerre, you'll pass by shops, café terraces, wine shops, bakeries and food shops.
At number 63, behind a carriage entrance, is the Cité artisanal, a former working-class town located in a cobbled and flowery cul-de-sac.
At number 86, we notice the little pink house, where the director AgnĂšs Varda lived.
Partly pedestrianized, between rue Boulard and avenue du Général Leclerc, the street becomes entirely reserved for pedestrians on Sundays and public holidays from 10 am to 6pm.
In the evening and on weekends, it is the meeting place for all the locals.

The apartment is 4 floors up with a modern elevator.
You enter the apartment into a light and expansive foyer, with a large walk-in closet and window overlooking roof tops.
The living room is spacious, with 2 full length windows overlooking the Rue Daguerre.
There is a dining area, 2 sofas, one of which converts into a small double (120 cm wide).
The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances - electric stove top, full sized oven, microwave, and dishwasher - and large window.
There is another full length window in the bedroom, which has a comfortable double bed, 2 closets, one of which features a full sized washer and dryer.
The bright and spacious bathroom has an additional window, a heated towel rack, lots of storage and bathtub/shower.

The RER B train station, to and from the CDG Airport, is at the end of the street, Place Denfert-Rochereau, as well as main Metro lines, numbers 4 & 6, and numerous buses - easy access to all of Paris and the Airport. 

The apartment has all the modern amenities, like fiber optic, high-speed WiFi, cable/Smart TV, Free Long-Distance phone calls, but without losing its original charm -- beautiful parquet floors and classic features.
You'll feel artistically and intellectually inspired during your time in this bright, spacious apartment, or while strolling the amazing and Oh-so Parisian Rue Daguerre, lined with fresh food markets, cheese shops, bakeries, restaurants and cafes!

This is a comfortable apartment in the heart of the 14th, perfect for a couple. This is 4th floor apartment with a great elevator for easy access. The kitchen is fully stocked, the bed is very comfortable and everything you need is right at your doorstep. The rue Daguerre is itself a neat little community that lets you feel part of Paris and not just a tourist. The apartment is easy walking distance from Gare Montparnasse and local buses. Steven replied quickly to our questions and was very helpful. We loved our stay!

Property was clean and well appointed. The apartment was pleasantly larger than expected. The street below the apartment was a wonderful experience all on its own with several restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores, and fresh food vendors. Great time at the Olympics

The stay at the apt definitely added to our experience. The local restaurants and shops were an added bonus that added to our Olympic experience in Paris. Transportation was super easy, and the local neighborhood was great. Steve and team were great host and were very helpful before our arrival.

Fantastic Location

If you are a tourist location is everything. Fantastic street with everything you can want.M4 Subway 1 block away, PER train slightly more. Two Cafes on the block and more on the next street, even a Mc Donald’s on the corner. Best Croissants I have ever had right out the door. Kitchen looked good but we never used it. Very safe building.

A Must Stay

We could not found a better location, outstanding accomodations, gracious and very responsive host, Steven. Located on a bustling street with local markets, restaurants, groceries and mere steps to the Metro. If we every return to Paris, we would definitely stay here again. Great Budget-Friendly Apartment Except During a Heatwave

A practical option for a budget-conscious couple who needs more space than most hotels provide. And it’s very convenient for public transportation (bus and line 4 metro are very close). Steven is a great host who provides all the essentials and detailed instructions. The listing is as depicted and described. Appliances and appointments are high quality, but not luxury. The luxury is the added space. The apartment is very secure and convenient, but there are things that some may not be used to. Foremost, there is no air conditioning, which is only a problem during a heatwave, such as the one we were unlucky enough to encounter. The windows and fans helped, but it was very uncomfortable on hot afternoons and evenings. Also, the water closet has no sink and is on the other side of the apartment from the bedroom and bathroom. As mentioned in other reviews, the market scene on the street is vibrant, with many shops and cafes. But it is very loud when the windows are open, and for us, they had to be. Still, I would book it again at a different time of year. Nothing in budget was going to be better.

Exceptionally clean and well stocked apartment. And it was well appointed, with real art on the walls. Great location, with transit, good restaurants, drug stores, chocolatiers, boulangeries, food markets, and everything else a traveller needs within footsteps. The host was exceptionally responsive and has good taste in decor. We had a great visit in Paris.

Lovely, well located apartment

The apartment at 19 Rue Daguerre is very comfortable and well thought out. The location above a market street was convenient for finding dinner supplies from the local shops. The fans helped keep the place cool at the end of August, and the windows could be opened, although there was noise from garbage trucks one morning. We stayed during the Para Olympics, and we were glad to be in this neighborhood away from the crowds in the center of Paris.

Great place in excellent location.

This is a real gem in Paris. It is conveniently located near two metro lines and a good bus route. It is on a pedestrianized section of Rue Daguerre which has every type of food shop and cafe. The flat is on the 4th floor (with elevator) and is light and quiet. The rooms are comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, and there is a manual which provided information on everything a guest might need to know. The bed is comfortable and there is plenty of storage space. This would be our top choice when we return to Paris!

Lovely apartment in a great area.

Comfortable, tastefully decorated, roomy and warm, this place felt like home. ( We lived in Paris, 5eme arrondissement for 5 years, a while ago). The rue Daguerre is a feast for the eyes and the tastebuds, specially around Xmas...Do not attempt to diet while staying there. The check in and check out were easy, we got our second keys very quickly and settled in without problem. Highly recommended.

Such a gem!

This spot on Rue Daguerre could not have been more ideal! Minutes from Metro lines 4,6, and RER B it is easily accessible. The portion of the street it is located on has a bustling line-up of food and beverage purveyors, meaning easy access to fresh foods daily and limited street traffic. There are also two grocery markets and a pharmacy within the same stretch for convenience. The apartment itself is on the 4th floor (elevator accessible) and is plenty comfortable for an adult couple or small family. It overlooks the street with a pleasant market street murmur when the windows are open. The inside is pleasantly furnished and utilitarian. We were there a month and having a kitchen (with a dishwasher!) and washer/dryer made our lives easier. The host, Steven, is an excellent communicator which took the stress out of interactions. He also supplied a guide for the appliances (with pictures) and neighborhood tips along with copies of published travel guides and spare convertor plugs to use during our stay. All of this added an element of comfort to our stay. Could not recommend enough and we hope to stay again!

Highly recommend!

This apartment is perfectly Parisian! I would totally live here. It's a vibrant but quiet neighbourhood, meaning once the shops close at 8 pm, all is serene. But it's not so busy in the day that you can't enjoy the atmosphere. Perfect combination! The location is excellent - with access to local restaurants, cafes, groceries, wine, cheese, fresh veggie stands, the best bakeries - all located just on the street below. The RER/metro is seriously 5 minutes away on foot and we felt very safe, like part of the community. The building is secure, clean and quiet with a lift and the apartment is spacious and exactly as portrayed. It was actually much bigger than I expected. The apartment is super clean with WiFi, plenty of bedding, towels, a fully stocked kitchen, washer&dryer, and a large bathtub/shower. We enjoyed breakfast each morning with fresh pastry from the boulangerie across the street and relaxed each evening with local wine/cheese. (Sufficient TP too! My pet peeve is finding only one roll) The only issue was the sofabed - it's ideal for a couple of kids but not so much for my very tall adult son. There is an extra long couch though so he switched to that with no complaints. Steven is a wonderful, thoughtful host. Communicative, accommodating, and proactive. My favorite Paris apartment ever!

Steven was an incredible host! Every detail from check-in to the apartment itself was perfect and spot-on! Anytime we needed anything, we just reached out to the ever-dependable and courteous Steven. The neighborhood is darling! Lots of families and locals, lots of restaurants and gastronomy and lots of shopping. It is a market street after all. You can close the windows if you need quiet or open them if you want all the liveliness of the market street. Every little details was so well thought out in the apartment. The apartment is so darling and cozy and spacious too! They supplied TP, spices, teas and coffee to get you started. Guess what? You only need to walk out the front door to get what you need for the day. We walked to Luxembourg gardens almost everyday and with handy access to the 4, 6 and RER B lines, you can be in any part of Paris you wish. My hubby and I will stay again! We have been traveling to for Paris for 20 years and stayed in many apartments, but this one was our favorite. Merci Beaucoup Steven.

This is a wonderful, beautiful apartment in a safe and fun area. We loved everything about the apartment. We could walk to the best groceries, restaurants, and cafes. Metro was close by. We plan to come again next year. The pattiserie right in front of the apartment has amazing tarts.
