A little more than an hour's drive from G.R. brings you to this dune-top beach house overlooking Lake Michigan. (The cottage is not on the lakefront) Have your meals out on the deck or inside the screened-in porch. Watch the variety of boats including the occasional barge navigating the lake in the distance. Lounge on the comfy couch with the cooling breeze coming from the sliders that span the front of the cottage. Take a 3- minute stroll down to the lake and sandy beach. Raft the lazy river near Stony Lake. Drive past the golf course and winery to Silver Lake and the dunes. Onward to Pentwater for some shopping or maybe a burger at the Brown Bear. In Heart there are some great biking trails. So much to see and do! Come on up and enjoy!!
The house was just as described and clean. The location was great with easy access to the beach that was not overcrowded. We got to meet Carol at check in and she was super nice and answered all of our questions. The screened in porch was excellent any time of day and the view of the lake was perfect. If we stay in the area again, it would be at this house. We loved our stay!
My daughter and I had a WONDERFUL week. It wasnât overcrowded, the view was beautiful as well as the beach. A very nice relaxing week on Lake Michigan.
We had a wonderful 3 day stay with my sister and niece. Our goal was to relax and unwind. The beach house was perfect. The short walk to the beach was perfect.
was perfect.

We wanted a quick, early fall weekend sneak peek at the wonderful Lake Michigan horizon before winter, and boy did this deliver! We cozied up on the deck with good books, walked on the beach, and had some great meals at the Farmhouse down the street! Carol was a great host! Thankful for the small pleasures in life :) Ann and Ron
Clean, comfortable, wonderful view of Lake Michigan. We watched the Perseid meteor showers from the deck! We ate dinner looking at the lake every evening. It was a short walk to the beach which we took advantage of often. It is also a short drive to the Little Sable Lighthouse. We enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you!
Great duneside summer cottage even with modern convienances like WIFI and TV it allowed all of my family to totally relax and enjoy the view. Would definately concider a future stay!
My family and I had an amazing time! We enjoyed the beautiful beach sunsets and stargazing. Property had everything we needed. It was very comfortable. Carol was also very responsive and thoughtful. We will be coming back!!
Great beach house, beautiful view of Lake Michigan, easy walk to beach, nice little neighborhood, quick trip to Stony Lake or Silver lake, dunes, and lighthouse. It was the perfect place for my boys and me to have a quick 3 day escape.
It got hot inside during the daytime but cooled down with the breeze in the afternoons and evenings.
We wanted a quiet place to celebrate our 12th anniversary and our first night away from our 6 kids in who knows how long and this was the perfect place. Incredible views, comfortable spaces, and everything we needed to make it special.
We were bummed that there was an algae bloom the weekend we were there, but obviously that can't be blamed on the host! and the neighbors say those are fairly rare.
We got an amazing sunset walk on the beach.
It's definitely a place we'd like to return and maybe bring the kids next time.
Our stay at Carol's cottage was amazing! The cottage was clean and fully stocked with everything you need to make yourself at home. I cannot express how amazing the views are at all hours of the day even at night! Access to the private beach is about a 5 minute walk which was great so we were able to walk off dinner and catch the sunset praticaly every night. Silver lake is a quick 5-7 minute drive where you MUST have some ice cream at Stony Lake Market!! If fishing is your thing Stony Lake is the place! Happy booking!
It was a very cute place not far from Lake Michigan. The views in the morning were amazing as it sits up on a hill. For me, I missed that it was an open lofted style and I had 4 kids with me ages 12-14. That made it so I didn't get much sleep because I could hear every giggle but we had a nice time. The owner was friendly and made sure we were comfortable. The beach was private and early enough in the season that we had it to ourselves. The only draw back to the area is that the natural landscape allows sound to travel very easily. I could hear the conversations on the porch several houses away so I'm sure they could hear all the kids too and that made me a little anxious about keeping everyone quiet.
Overall it was a nice space!
We enjoyed our time at the little blue cottage with a spectacular view of our favorite lake. Very relaxing and a great reset before school starts. We will be back!
