Spacieux chalet sur la plage privée et tranquille du lac Michigan.
Courte distance en voiture des activités du lac Silver. Cottage est en deuxième ligne et a accès à la plage beaucoup partagé. Un court sentier mène à la plage. Grande salle familiale, immense terrasse donnant sur le lac Michigan, terrasse avec gril à charbon. Belle vue, plage de sable propre. Une courte promenade sur la plage de Little Sable Point de phare. Chalet est équipé de tout ce dont vous avez besoin pour des vacances en famille merveilleuse. Isolé mais à seulement quelques minutes en voiture de Silver Lake et les dunes de sable de Silver Lake. Cottage récemment rénové.

Ceci est l'endroit idéal pour vos vacances en famille. En Silver Lake, vous pouvez explorer l'immense étendue de dunes de sable (2.000 acres) escalader les dunes, louer une jeep ou un VTT ou profiter des pittoresques Rides Mac Woods Dune. Les enfants peuvent courir des go-carts, monter des bateaux tamponneurs, jouer putt putt ou jouer dans la salle de jeux vidéo. L'accès du public pour les plaisanciers à Silver Lake est à quelques miles de la maison où vous pouvez louer des bateaux, des vélos, des tubes ou des jet-skis. Le chalet se trouve sur une plage privée, loin des foules. La plage est de sable et vous pouvez marcher pendant des miles.

Enjoyable

Cabin was clean , kitchen was well furnished, walking distance to the beach was nice. House was easy to find. House was easy to get a hold of. The only thing I would recommend is to have the book left on the table for rules wasn’t until the last day that I found that.

Perfect Lakefront Cottage

Being a life long resident of Michigan as well as a traveler, the cottage is a great place to stay. The location is literally perfect with access to the lake and just quiet/away from town enough to relax. Host and neighbors are very friendly/helpful and the beach was never crowded. We always camped and rented on the many "typical lakes" but having direct access to Lake Michigan was not something we really knew was possible. We had a family of 4 adults and one toddler and the house was great for this size. Sleeping arrangements (bunk beds) are a little tighter for the adults but manageable. Great house, great host, great view.

Wonderful location and cottage

Location of this cottage is absolutely amazing. Short walk to the beautiful Lake Michigan. We had an issue with the water heater during our stay but host was very quick to have someone come out and fix the issue. Cottage was perfect size for our family with two adults, two younger kids and a baby. The kids loved sleeping on the bunk beds. We would definitely stay again!

Great house on beach

The house is older but perfectly fine for a family vacation. The beach is much closer then the pictures show. Plenty of room for all 3 kids and adults. Had all of the cooking supplies but no condiments or spices, fyi. We bought some at the store, no problem. We loved the place!

Cozy cottage

We really enjoyed our time at the lake. This 2 story home has space on each level to relax. The upstairs porch is very large and offers nice views of the lake. We also enjoyed using the fire pit at night. The owner was great at communicating and responding quickly to any inquiries. I agree with other reviews about no "fine dining". But that's not why I go to the lake. Ludington is a short drive away and offers several options for food and entertainment. Other larger cities are within 2 hours drive and excellent for day trips.

A week on Lake Michigan

We had a great time in Mears. I was travelling with my family of four, another family of four and a couple. There was just enough room to sleep 10. We really enjoyed the large deck off the house as well as the the porch under the deck. The pictures don't really show the amount of outdoor space the cottage has. The walk to the beach is quick and the house had everything we needed to cook for a week. We had a great week of warm weather so we spent every day at the beach. The house could use a little TLC in the bathrooms. We had an issue with the shower in the upstairs bathroom not working so we were only able to use a sprayer that was about knee height. Other than that, no complaints and we would definitely come again.

A great week on the lake!

This is our 3rd time staying at this property. We stay with two families of four and a couple, so 10 people total. If you are a large adult, you may have issues sleeping on the bunk beds. Two bedrooms are bunk rooms with two sets of bunkbeds. In one room, the top beds are pretty close to the bottom bed, so not ideal for adults, but we make it work. The property has everything you need; however, you do have to bring your own linens and towels. The house is spacious given the two stories. The back patio is nice for storing all of our outdoor gear and coolers and the top deck is perfect for hanging out in the mornings and evenings. The neighbors are very nice and if you are respectful of the area, they are very welcoming. The beach area for the rental is part of the association and is small, but a short walk toward the lighthouse and there is plenty of room on the stretch of state land. We spent our days on the beach and ventured to Craigs Cruisers and the Chicken Shack one day. If you love the beach and want a relaxing vacation home with a view, I highly recommend this place. Diane is great to work with and we will be back again for a 4th year.

very nice overall

we enjoyed the property and the beach. the house was comfortable and it is so pretty there! walked to lighthouse and enjoyed the beach. house was clean. I do think it’s important to have in upfront listing that you bring sheets and towels. while i understand the challenges of housekeeping, this is a very unusual request—in renting dozens of VRBOs over the years and Lake Michigan coast in particular, this has never come up. While this is in no way something the owner can control, i do agree with another poster who commented that sit-down restaurants were hard to come by (and no fine dining). we had info that was much appreciated, but many places were quite far away. the few that were close by we tried but just finding a good salad was a challenge. we did see a sign for a restaurant that may open in 2022. between that and the staffing shortage at pentwater places easing, this could change soon. overall, we enjoyed our stay and particularly the beach and beautiful lighthouse. the teens enjoyed the beach and the dune buggy ride and the amusements in silver lake. there aren’t amusement rides in most areas near lake michigan, so that was an advantage that we appreciated and enjoyed.

Perfect spot on Lake Michigan!

Very nice property manager who checked in with us during our stay seeing if we needed anything. BEAUTIFUL sunsets that we spent watching from the fire pit while our son was in bed. We brought our bikes and we bikes to get ice cream as well as to Silver Lake. Nice and easy ride! We loved our stay!

Our 2nd Visit to the Lake House

This was our second time renting this house on Lake Michigan. It was perfect for our group of 10. We had 5 adults and 5 children and the space worked great for us. The internet works great and has improved since last year! Love having both patios for extra space to spread out and with views of Lake Michigan. We spent the week at the beach, walking to the lighthouse, watching sunsets and enjoying the views from the cabin. Our main focus of the trip is to spend time at the beach so we aren't looking for a trip with lots of things to do, but we did go on the Mac Doon Rides to explore the Sand Dunes and spent some time at Craig's Cruisers in the arcade on a rainy day. Highly Recommend going to get Chicken Wings from the Silver Lake Chicken Shack. They are the best.. Diana is great to work with and we will definitely be back!

We enjoyed the property. Beautiful view and access to the beach. Great location to enjoy all the local activities. Cottage very clean and had everything we needed. Definitely recommend and would rent again.

Amazing Location 🌞

We have stayed at several VRBOs in Alaska, Hawaii, and Florida on the water , and this beach cottage location is right up there with those locations. We enjoyed coffee on the beach in the morning and toasting the Sun sets. The house accommodations were perfect for what we needed as a group of 7 adults. Bunk bed accommodations might be a turn off for some ,but we did not plan to spend the day in our room but rather enjoy and explore the immense natural beauty surrounding the cottage. Thank you again for sharing your slice of heaven with us. We will certainly be back....

Great fall getaway!

We had such a great time at the cottage! Pleasantly surprised at all the outdoor space and the beach was beautiful. Loved the short walk down to watch the sunsets. We would drfinately rent this house again. The host was wonderful to work with! I felt like she was so responsive and genuinely cared about our trip and making sure everything was great! The perfect place for our September beach trip.

The house was great for our family of three adults and four kids. We loved being so close to the beach and yet just minutes from town. We had everything we needed for a great few days away as a family. We would definitely stay here again.

No Frills, Made It Work For Us!

Great location, & proximity to beach! Super neighbors. Nice beaches, no crowds, & pleasant breezes, but thank God we only had a couple of days/nights of heat & no breeze. This made cooking for ourselves not pleasant. The advertised 3 full BA’s turned out to be 1 1/2!!! The one shower water pressure was awful!!!! And not a lot of nearby restaurants and general “vacation shopping.” Sleeping accommodates we’re not real pleasant in that Pillows on beds & most of the beds were pretty worthless. 2 BR’s with the decent size bank beds and the 1BR with the full-some mattress were all upstairs making traveling for this 69yr challenging! 😏🤨. Young kids were be hard to entertain at Mears but I think here but again, for the amount of money we paid it was ok. The proximity to beach was super, neighbors super nice, but all in all with the purchase of some decent pillows, some yard sale items purchased to spruce it up $ “homey it up” a bit would add so much! Hostess was good to communicate with but for myself I would not go back.

Family Getaway

This cottage was just what we needed after being cooped up from COVID. The neighbors were very welcoming and the view was beautiful. The water was clean and beach was amazing. Just a few steps 😊. We did the MacDune rides and MI Adventure on chilly days. Thank you Diana!!! We had a blast!!

My family has rented cottages on Silver Lake and Upper Silver Lake for 50 years. This was my first time on Lake Michigan. We absolutely loved this cottage. Great location, beach access, good neighbors, and wonderful owner. Can’t wait to go back next year!

Perfect Place for a Family

The cottage is perfect and the view of Lake Michigan is amazing! It's a 30 second walk down to the beach and there are so many fun things to do, just minutes away. My family can't wait to come back!

Amazing location!

We had a great week on the beach! Even though it was early April--and rainy for much of our week--this is a great spot. Even though you're not quite right on the beach (it's about a 30-second walk, because the cottage is in the second row), you have clear views of the lake from the upstairs. A great stretch where you can walk for miles with wide beach. The heating system made the house comfortable very quickly on chillier days. The Internet was blazing fast, and everything was quite clean. Our only minor quibbles would be that the kitchen knives could stand a sharpening, and the upstairs shower is a bit wonky, but those are just nitpicky comments. Would definitely stay here again!

Nice cottage near the beach. We would go back.

We enjoyed the location. Plenty of sandy beach. Good hiking in the State Park nearby. I'm pretty handy with electronics, but was never able to get the internet modem/router working, even after trying the 2nd password that the owner sent us.
