I would not stay here again. The house itself is great - lots of room, great layout, nicely decorated. But it is not cleaned and the host is unresponsive. When we checked in, there was hair on the shower wall, old, used bar soap and a used razor in the shower, dust inside the coffee maker, etc. The backyard is basically unusable, even for our dog. Itâs so overgrown that you canât walk around in it, and it was covered in trash. The host was super unresponsive. The only reason we even got the check in code was because I called VRBO multiple times to get it, less than 24 hours prior to check in, because the host was MIA.
Side walks had weeds growing abd pepples you couldn't get from car to walkway because of stones. Dust clumps in closets. AND only 8 towels for 8 people. Cant upload my photos. I think a discount would be nicr being it said call and they would answer anytime, i call3d left msg nand never got a call back.
Not a very good experience. Had to reach out to the owner to get the access code. The property was not cleaned to an acceptable standard upon arrival, and we had to spend time cleaning ourselves. The backyard was not in usable condition, and my messages and calls to the owner went unanswered. We were also charged a cleaning fee despite the condition of the home. This could be a lovely place to stay if it was cleaned properly.
We never got to stay. The owner never gave me a code, I had 6 relatives with me, it was hot, the home had tons of garbage lined on the side . I had to call the realtor on the sign of the for sale sign to get in touch with the owner, as he was not answering my calls or text messages. After over an hour, the owner text me to say , Sorry, the people who rented the home checked out late and the home was not cleaned. By this time I am fuming. I reserved this in April. It is now July and we have no where to stay. I text back how do I get a refund. Never said anything to me. I called Vrbo and they were so very nice and refunded my money. My trip sucked. Never again.
A charming house with promising potential was unfortunately overshadowed by significant cleanliness leading to a disappointing experience and poor value for the price. While the property itself has endearing qualities and is adequately furnished, the overall condition upon arrival was unacceptable. The house was dirty, with unclean rugs and floors immediately noticeable. A closer inspection revealed an accumulation of dust and dirt under the beds, indicating a lack of thorough cleaning for some time. The lack of basic amenities was also a major inconvenience. Only a single roll of toilet paper and dispenser of shower gel were provided for two bathrooms, an insufficient supply for any length of stay.A significant and unsanitary issue was the state of the exterior. Weeks of trash from previous occupants had been left to accumulate on the side of the house, the very location where new guests are instructed to leave their own garbage. This not only created an unsightly environment but also raises concerns about hygiene and pest control. In conclusion, the positive aspects of the house do not outweigh the serious shortfalls in cleanliness and basic provisions. The price paid is not justified by the quality of the accommodation provided, resulting in a very poor value proposition.
The owner not only ignored my messages & calls prior to arrival, but then ignored 8 phone calls during my stay. I arrived to a dirty home with bags full of garbage on the kitchen floor, dirty towels in the bathrooms & dirty sheets on the bed. I had to spend hours washing everything myself. I expect a full refund.
The house was ok. Could have been a little cleaner. The upstairs air was not working correctly, and the back yard was completely unusable even to let my dogs to do their business. It served the purpose of a place to gather and sleep. Alot of garbage bags and cans in ally, so parking was little bit of a challenge. Overall we had a great visit in Erie for our conference at the convention center.
I have stayed at several vrbos before. Iâve never had a bad experience, this takes the cake for the worst. It all started as our hosts failed to respond multiple times to requests in the app. Then, We were unable to check in for nearly an hour after check in time even with the intervention of vrbo. The only reason we were successful is because when we pulled up to the property we watched a realtor remove a sign from the front yard and put it off to the side so after waiting a period of time we texted and called the realty office to see if we had been catfished. It was that process of nearly an hour that got us into the home. Once into the home, it was clear that the property had not been cleaned prior to us arriving and someone was actively staying there. A bed had clearly been slept in, there was a hairdryer and curling iron actively plugged in in a separate bedroom, dirt on the floors, a dirty diaper in the trash, a used razor in the bathroom. Neither bathrooms had fresh rolls, both were less then a 1/4. There was hypertension medicine found in the bedside table - thankfully by an adult not a child. The backyard was unusable as there were at minimum 4-5 cats swarming the small enclosed yard at all times. There was trash and beer cans left throughout the yard. Dishes were in the sink and dishwasher. There were wires found on the floor and wires hanging above the stove just open and out there.
Nice place for a night or two. Only thing we found odd was the host never contacted us with a door code. Overall it was nice place. Big with plenty of room.
Cute home. Bring your own sheets, towels, wash clothes and bath mat. You need to provide your own hand soap, tissues and paper towels. Plan to spend your first hour or two cleaning. Bring a swifer.
It is an older home. It was perfect for a one night stay. Things that could be improved: The steps were somewhat cleared of snow, the driveway was not. It should have been cleared. We were able to pull one car onto the drive, but the smaller car would have gotten stuck and had to park in the street. There were no hand towels or soap in the bathrooms. We had to use the dish soap from the kitchen and wash cloths to dry. It also would have been nice to have a top sheet on the bed and not just the fitted sheet. But overall, it met our purpose.
We really enjoyed staying here and would definitely stay again. Located close to everything we wanted to do. Was nice for 2 families because of the 2 completely separate living spaces. All together a really nice stay.
Convenient location witb plenty of space for eberyo everyone
We had a great stay. The home is older with a lot of character. The kids loved having a TV in their room and there was plenty of space for everyone. The house is a quick drive to the zoo, Waldameer. Presque Island, and Bicentennial Tower. We did not find anything within walking distance, but there is off street parking for your a vehicle.
Good Location & amazing space, needs cleaning service
This house is fantastic and has the potential to really be an amazing VRBO experience. The problem is the upkeep - when we arrived the floors had not been vacuumed ( carpets or kitchen floor). The kitchen sinks and counters had been quickly wiped, but were not thorough and the bathrooms had dirty floors. When we contacted the owners to double check that the cleaning had been done, the person I was texting became irate and offended. They asked for pictures and when I sent them, they accused me of being a psychopath who looked for dirt. The outside space was nice at one point, but is now covered in cat hair and mildew. It was completely unusable. We did spend about an hour the first night cleaning the place and once that was done it was very nice for the week. There was plenty of room and the air and water worked well. It was exceptionally nice to have 2 kitchens and two living rooms. We went to Presque Isle and Waldameer. The location was fantastic! We wish the owners/managers would take better interest in making it a clean rental. It is one of the only ones in the Erie area that had the space and location we needed. It was just a matter of deciding that we were willing to clean it ourselves rather than cancel or attempt to find another space at the last minute. We agreed to disagree with the owners/managers and ended up having a great time in Erie!!
Booked for a two night stay in Erie with our families. Arrived after 7pm on 6/24, tired from our day at Waldameer. Upon unloading groceries in the fridge, I found moldy food left behind by others. Before eating dinner, I had to clean the kitchen countertops as they had clearly not been wiped down. I also unplugged the many small appliances which seemed like a fire hazard. As I did, much to my horror, the outlets PULLED OUT OF THE WALL! Finally time to shower & go to bed. That is when I found a moldy basket in our room, and to add to it, our bedroom door literally would not shut. Lovely. The following morning I had messages from the host asking how check-in went and also providing instructions for check-out the following day. I responded expressing concerns about the cleanliness of the house. He asked for specifics, and upon my response about dirty floors, he insisted on pictures. The pictures I provided weren't good enough for him, so we offered to do a walkthrough of the house with him which he declined. He quickly became defensive and implied that we were the problem; not his house. He told us we should leave & find cleaner accommodations to our standards, offering a refund for the night. His reaction and response to our concerns were appalling so we agreed to leave & accepted the offer of a refund. 24hrs after having left the property, I continued to receive unsolicited harassing messages from the host (I have screen shots). 2 weeks later, still no refund; shocking.
