Casale San Giuseppe reveals itself as you drive up the long road toward Castello di Casole. The residence sits at the end of a long driveway off to the right of the Castello, flanked by olive trees and a sweeping meadow. The home is nestled into the forest, but the views are unobstructed and dramatic. A short walk will take you to dining, the spa and fitness center. This alluring proximity to the Castello makes San Giuseppe a magnificent place to call home. The fitness, dining and spa is all located at the Hotel which is within walking distance to the Villa San Giuseppe.
A second entrance ascends to the Castello through a beautiful line of cypress. The residential compound itself is formally organized as a main residence, attached but very private guest quarters, and a truly stunning pool and hot tub built into the ruin of a stable. The pool and patio setting look across the countryside to Casole d'Elsa. A more tranquil and majestic setting is difficult to imagine.
Main Residence: The San Giuseppe main residence is organized around magnificent barrel-vaulted stairway that centers the residence. The kitchen and dining rooms open to an expansive patio, which leads to the pool and hot tub built magnificently into a reclaimed ruin. A forno oven warms the patio. Throughout the home are vaulted ceilings, arched doorways and materials artfully reclaimed from centuries past. Like all of the residences, interiors are warmed by traditional Tuscan style fireplaces. In the kitchen are a hand-carved marble sink, magnificent DeManincor gas and wood-burning stove and Gianfranco Ballerini refrigerators.
Upstairs are two large master suites each with a private sitting room. Shuttered and screened windows open in every direction to welcome the breeze and views. The home is fully air-conditioned. Each bath is a work of art, with separate areas for shower and deep soaking tubs and vanity. The master suite on the lower level descends off the main living area and overlooks the pool complex. There is a large bedroom and sitting area with a private pathway to the pool and hot tub. The bath sits on a lower level, and looks out over the forest to the town of Casole d'Elsa. There is a free-standing tub, two sinks, open shower, toilet and bidet. Dark, grey-green marble floors are accented by colorful tri-color mosaic counter tops.
It is a very private and luxurious retreat. With the guest quarters, the home comfortably welcomes 8-10 family and guests.
Guest Residence: The guest residence at San Giuseppe is an architectural delight. The painstakingly restored ruins run directly out into the infinity pool and the spectacular views to the countryside beyond. Inside the two-level residence, the upstairs master bedroom looks out over the covered spa. A cozy sitting room and bathroom round out the upper level, while a generously spacious sitting room accompanies the hot tub on the lower level.
