You could not ask for anything more from this Tuscan villa. Absolutely lovely restored farmhouse with every amenity required and the photographs really do not do it justice. The location is perfect with a fifteen minute walk up to San Gimignano with absolutely stunning views of the town from the pool and the rear terrace. Alessandro was the perfect host and was always available for advice and help. We really had a lovely family week stay at the property.
Booked this villa for a 5-night stay with family & friends. The villa was exactly as expected, the views of San Gimignano from the property are so much better than the photos can capture! The owner, Alessandro, was accommodating, easy to contact, and responsive to our requests. Ensuite bathrooms in all bedrooms was an awesome feature we all appreciated. Would definitely recommend!
We had a lovely stay at the villa. The villa was comfortable, well furnished and had a beautiful view of San Gimignano. The owner was very helpful and responsive. We will definitely stay there again if we visit San Gimignano.
The home is amazing. This was our 1st trip to Tuscany. The location was perfect and convenient to San G. and grocery shopping. We are hoping to return some day.
It is a wonderful property with outstanding views and a short walk to the wonderful village of San Gimignano. The host was wonderful and we would totally recommend the onsite dinner and wine tasting with Chef Massimo and Tenuta Torciano.
The Villa has amazing views of San Gimignano and the village is within easy walking distance. The property is great for individuals or couples traveling together. The host Alessandra is highly responsive and very helpful with recommendations.
When we drove up to Villa Porticciola it was everything we thought Tuscany would be. It was breathtaking. We couldnât believe we were staying there. The villa has so much character was peaceful and exceptionally quiet. The views of San Gimignano and the surrounding vineyards was awe inspiring. We felt like we were part of a Renaissance painting. We enjoyed our walks to San Gimignano an ancient village which is well preserved. Being inside the stone walls gave the feeling of traveling back to early medieval times. Our grandchildren loved their pool time as did we with the views of the village. We cannot remember a more relaxing 5days. Alessandro, our host, was most accommodating and gracious. We are very glad he has made the villa available for guests. We hated to leave. We only wished for a longer stay
I wanted to say a big thank you to Alessandro for his hospitality. The villa fit all 9 of us ladies comfortably. It was clean, spacious and had an amazing view. I would highly reccomend this villa. Our host provided us with restaurant options, and activity suggestions. Just a side note, you do need a car. The walking to town or the Coop is uphill on a dusty gravel road. It takes a good 10 to15 minutes to walk to town. Lots of stairs in the villa, not ideal for those with mobility issues. If you do not have a vehicle I suggest booking taxis ahead. Overall it was a wonderful stay.Thankyou!
Lovely large 4 bedroom house with spectacular views of San Gimignano. Really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this rental. Everything was perfect including the pool. Alessandro
Our stay at Villa Porticciola in San Gimiagno was absolutely FANTASTIC! From the moment we arrived, everything was exactly as we had anticipated and more. The host is attentive and so accommodating and tries to make everything perfect to the best of his ability including maintaining the pool when we were there. The pool was a real plus! We were so impressed! And the Villaâs location in San Gimiagno was magical. We had rented a car for driving around Tuscany but did use it for going into San Gimiagno even though the distance into town is only half a mile. The Villa is located on an historically preserved road- very gravelly and dusty but filled with âcharacterâ - which has a steep incline into town and we had two âseniorsâ in our party. The temperatures when we went in June were unseasonably hot. The walking down was fine, but the walking up more challenging depending on the people in your party. We are so grateful for what was a true âbucket listâ experience! Thank you, Alessandro.
Our host was responsive to our questions and needs. He also arranged a women to come to the property and prepare dinner for us on two separate nights. To our host, thank you.
This is a truly lovely house in an amazing spot. Very walkable to San Gimignano but also feels quite and private. The host is very accessible, extremely helpful and will connect you to any added things you might need during your stay. The pool feels amazing on a hot day and we couldn't have asked for a better experience!
The property is walking distance to San Gimignano. The house has air conditioning and it is definitely a must in the summer. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. The host is attentive and very helpful. We all enjoyed our stay.
We all had a wonderful relaxing time and couldnât fault the villa, it was excellent. Great location and views. Would highly recommend. Alessandro a great host.
The villa was very well-maintained and provisioned. We were provided with a great list of local resources many of which we took advantage of and were very pleased with. We had a private chef and sommelier come and provide lunch for us one day and the villa accommodated the event perfectly. The villa provided perfect sleeping arrangement for our varied group of 7. It was convenient to have a washer/dryer and bathroom on the main floor. One possible improvement would be to provide better instruction on how to use the washer and dryer. They both took a LONG time to complete their cycles and I'm not sure that we ever were using them correctly. There were many locations were we could congregate as a group or get away if any of us needed some alone time. We used the pool every afternoon and loved it given the hot humid weather while we were there. There were beautiful views of San Gimignano from the villa and although it was walkable, it was uphill all the way and pretty tough for some of us, given the 90, humid weather.Alessandro was a gracious host! Very pleasant and responsive to our needs. We were provided with a thorough orientation to the property and how things worked upon our arrival. All told, this was a beautiful place to stay, beautifully maintained, accommodated our needs perfectly and was overseen by a wonderful host.We highly recommend Villa la Porticciola to anyone looking for a villa in Tuscany and the San Gimignano area!
This was a comfortable property with lovely patios to sit and enjoy the truly breathtaking views. Walkable to the lovely town of San Gimignano and close enough to Florence and many other towns if youâd like to do day trips. Host was easily reachable and accommodating. Great vacation.
The views of San gimignano are amazing from the outside seating area. Close enough to walk or a short drive into town but feels like a rural setting.
Alessandro is also very helpful and the villa is well stocked. Pool are is great.
Best part is going into town after the hordes of tourists board their buses back to Firenze.
Gorgeous & charming property located a short walkable distance from San Gimignano. Perfect for a family or group of friends. We enjoyed the local charm, day trips to Florence & Siena, as well as winery tours & a cooking class.
The host helped us with wonderful restaurants & drivers.
Highly recommend this property and this host
The location and the villa itself made for a wonderful holiday. Alessandro is a fantastic host, very proactive and helpful. We highly recommend the villa.
Its worth noting the fine print that not included in the rental price, to be paid on the spot: Final cleaning, Local tax, Heating, Air Conditioning.
We spent a week using this as our base to explore the region. Lots comfortable seating. It was cold the first two days socentral heat, pellet stove and heat pumps worked flawlessly. Allessandro was readily available and easy to work with.
Absolutely adored this house, location and host. Alessandro is a very responsive and helpful host. We had a couple of severe storms and he checked in to make sure I was fine (there was a period where I was by myself). The rooms are large, air conditioned and comfortable. The pool is very relaxing, especially after a hot day. I hope to come back some day!! Highly recommend
It's been 19 years since we last went to San Gimignano, not much has changed - the same beautiful town. All logistics (check in/check out etc) were very smooth and relaxed. The location was fabulous for us, nice and quiet but only a short drive to the town. Parking has always been a problem, but if you go early/late you can get the best spaces. The pool was very welcome given it was 39 degrees most days of our stay. Id definitely recommend and hope to be back one day.
