We absolutely loved reading your review and hearing how much your group enjoyed the house, dock, outdoor spaces, swimming, paddling, and even the “belly smacker” off the dock... that gave us a laugh! We’re especially happy to hear the home had everything you needed for cooking, relaxing, and making unforgettable memories together. Nothing means more to us than hearing guests already talking about making The Haven an annual tradition. We have many that do! One of the things that makes Norris Lake so breathtaking is its unique geography. Unlike many flat shoreline lakes, Norris is a crystal-clear mountain lake created by flooding river canyons, which gives it the incredible deep water, dramatic scenery, and stunning bluff views that guests fall in love with. Our property is actually considered one of the more gradual lake front walks on the main channel, featuring a series of 4–5 gradual steps and 2 wooden gangways originally designed by a previous owner for their elderly parents, rather than a steep staircase with 50 steps straight up. Most year-round deep-water homes on Norris have significantly steeper terrain than what guests experience here. For anyone wanting an easier option after a long lake day, guests can also drive the short driveway down closer to the lake access area and park nearby. However, I wanted to clarify one small detail in your review that might be helpful for future guests. We did notice you required mobility assistance from another person at all times on the property. You mentioned that there were rocks in the way of accessing the dock, but in fact, there aren’t any rocks obstructing the path. Our year-round water access dock is accessible via a sandy shale shore with a 5-foot wooden ramp or one step up off-season, and during the season, it's directly accessible from the shoreline cement steps. We strive to ensure that all our guests have a smooth and comfortable experience, and we provide photos on our listing or additional ones upon request. While we understand your unique circumstances require mobility assistance, most of our guests, many of whom are in the mature age range, have found the access to be very self-manageable.
