1BR Waterfront cottage with a view of the wild Chincoteague ponies!
It is a unique and cozy waterfront cottage with the most amazing view of the National Park, the wildlife Refuge, the lighthouse and the spot where the wild Chincoteague ponies hang out! This cottage is a part of 10 cottages complex. It is a quiet, relaxing location and only 5-10 minutes drive to the town or the beach.
Wonderful hosts at a beautiful property. The cottage was quaint, safe and clean, just as advertised, and was perfect for a 2 day quiet get away. The overall property is well cared for and provides for a warm sense of community for the guests.
The cottages were clean and cozy. The view was wonderful. The staff was friendly. Rent kayaks or go on a Boat tour, right on site. We would return. (Pets were welcome)
Lovely people restful view, great tour of wild ponies, and got to see many dolphin groups, some close enough I could have touched. The management/owners are wonderful and I managed to be able to see directly from my cottage the waterview and a little piece of sandy beach of my own in front. Get away from the mob and relax here. I hope to come back next year!!
My girlfriend and I visitied Chincoteague for the first time and we cannot recommend Snug Harbor enough. Basia and her husband, John, were overly hospitable and accomodating. The lodging itself was clean, charming, and as described. Location on the marsh could not have been more beautiful. Snug Harbor provides kayak rental and boat tours which makes exploring the area so much fun. We cannot wait to return to Chincoteague and stay at Snug Harbor again!
Cleanliness is most important to us and it was immaculate. This is however very basic. No microwave. Amenities consist of 2 rolls of toilet paper. No tissue, no paper towels. Decor is early yard sale. That said the double bed was comfortable, the location included. We picked the place because we could bring our dog. The charge was $49 per day and no refund . They have a sign in the office that says, "Paradise is expensive " For an Eco trip on the cove the charge was $89 per person and again $49 for the dog. We passed . Still they were lovely people. but ifthe weather had been bad it would have been claustrophobic as there was no screened area outside the room to enjoy the outside.
Very clean room. Rented a small boat from them and took our dogs with us; they loved being on a boat! Beautiful views of the water and assateague lighthouse right from the property, especially at sunset. We paid for the water taxi to take us to a secluded beach for a few hours. The dogs got to run in the sand, and we saw the wild horses on the same shore as us maybe 100 yards away! The staff was very attentive.
