Relaxation in the Forest
The pictures and description of the house are accurate and definitely helped me make my decision to stay here. The property is fully deer-fenced and was secure for our 2 dogs. They had a fabulous time chasing the chipmunks that make their home in the woodpile.
The house is well-positioned to take advantage of the State Park access and forest trails. The neighbors have a salt-lick just outside of their yard and this brings herds of deer and elk from the woods.
The neighborhood was quiet and welcoming. We took full advantage of the season change that allows us to have our dogs off-leash in the Deschutes National Forest; they love to play and explore in the forest. I would only recommend this if you have good recall with your animals.
The property water is from a well or other mineral source; if you are sensitive to smell and taste this may be a factor for you. The property generously provides a filter pitcher for drinking water and cooked/boiled water doesn't retain the well-water taste. Keep this in mind if you have sensitive skin/hair as this is the shower water.
The hot tub is a lovely amenity for this property. It was very relaxing after a long day hiking with our dogs to clean up and take a long soak. When we stayed, we had a couple of issues with the dishwasher not working and the bedframes were unstable. The laundry is also a bit complicated to use and very loud.
Overall, we were very pleased with our stay. This was a great introduction to Central Oregon.
