Beautiful property, but no water pressure. It took 2 hours to fill the tub outside with luke warm water that was brown. Hot water lasted a minute in master shower and then it went cold. Kitchen sink backed up with dirty stinky water. And there was moldy yogurt in fridge.

Nice Secluded Getaway

Great communication with the host. We really enjoyed the stay and the beautiful setting. The only recommendation I would make is to have the dehumidifier be self draining, as it got pretty damp unless we were able to empty it at least 3-4 times a day.

The property was as described and suited our needs for our few days in Volcano. The property was quiet and private. We very much enjoyed our time visiting the volcano and were pleased we choose this property for our stay.

Good stay close to volcanic national park

Overall we liked the stay and surrounding of the property. Volcanic national park being very close is the plus. You can hear all the birds and insects chirping in the dark as you are in the tropical atmosphere. Only one thing that could have been better is some dedicated storage to keep our clothes and other personal belongings.

Cozy cottage for a volcano get away

My husband and I stayed here with our infant (5 month old), and it was the perfect cozy cottage. Host provided a pac-n-play which made it easy to travel with our little one. The cottage is so peaceful and tucked away with lots of privacy. The bed was so comfortable, and all of the blankets and space heater made for the perfect mood to cuddle up in the chilly night with a glass of wine after hiking all day. The sound of the rain on the roof was so calming. So close to Volcano National park and only about a 30 minute drive into Hilo which made for a great location. The only down side to our stay was that we couldn’t get the outside lighting to work (even after trouble shooting and messaging host) so we weren’t able to sit on the back patio at night like we had hoped. Over all wonderful stay and would stay here again.

Best Volcano Cabin Yet!

We travel to Hilo every month or so and always stay at a different vacation rental. This one was our favorite so far!! Perfect size for our little family (mom, dad, 2 young kids). The kids thought the pullout beds were the coolest thing, along with the patio swing that they refused to get off whenever we were “home”. The unit is adorable and newer construction, so it has double wall insulation which really helps with the cold weather. They also have a small but mighty electric fireplace that warms the place very well for its size. There are two full bathrooms (not typical for a 1 bd unit), one of which contains a huge washer/dryer (I think people underestimate how convenient it is to be able to wash all your laundry before heading home). In the evening we all hung around the propane fire pit in the back patio area, talking story and enjoying the sounds of the coquis. The location, size, features, and price for this unit fit all our “perfect vacation rental” criteria and we will definitely be staying here again in the future!

Terrible property and does not match description

Arrived and property was dirty. Flies everywhere, floor dirty and kitchen not cleaned. The outside does not look like pictures and there is no hot tub. False advertising. Outside seating is covered in mold. First day I poured coffee into a cup spilled all over my clothes And then when I went to do laundry the machine stalled and it took us over an hour to get it restarted. We spent hours of our visit cleaning and dealing with broken items. When we reached out to the property owner we did not hear back until a third outreach at which time she offered to have someone come clean but it was too late. She did not address the way the property does not match the pictures or property description. Do not book this place. ruining them. Tried to use the laundry

Sorry to hear your experience. We provide a five star professional cleaning and many guests left a five star reviews. We didn't receive any communication about the cleanliness and she demanded return of rental without providing any proof. When I sent my cleaner and manager she was not willing to allow her to resolve her concerns. We provide soak tub and all our furniture and appliances are in a good condition. Hope future guests can look at the honest reviews and come and enjoy their vacation at our cozy romantic home at an affordable rate, Mahalo!
