A dreamy getaway awaits at Casa Verde, a warm and welcoming 2BR retreat featuring a hot tub and firepit. Walk from the deck through the lush garden, then follow a private path to the banks of Austin Creek. This gated property is a forested oasis.

Modern cabin decor and a striking stone fireplace await inside. Sonoma Coast State Park is less than 8 miles away, and an array of tasty restaurants await within a quick drive. Great golf courses are nearby, too.

LIVING AREA

Rich wood glows from floor to ceiling in the open-concept living room. Stoke the wood-burning fireplace (firewood is provided) while your favorite shows play on the flat-screen TV. Stylish furniture provides plenty of space to kick back and relax.

KITCHEN & DINING

The freshly updated kitchen is sure to inspire your inner chef. Fix tasty vacation meals with helpful gadgets and a full suite of stainless steel appliances -- including a gas range. The gleaming kitchen island provides additional meal preparation space, plus seating for two.

When your recipes are ready, serve special dishes at a dining table for four.

BED & BATH

Casa Verde sleeps four guests in two serene bedrooms. Both have fine queen beds and hotel-quality linens.

Beautiful tile work adorns the walk-in shower in the bathroom.

OUTDOOR AREA & AMENITIES

Kick back on the wraparound deck furnished with lounge chairs and a dining table for four. A gas grill sets the scene for evening cookouts.

Make your way through the garden to your private hot tub. There's plenty of seating for s'mores and conversation at the seasonal wood-burning firepit.

A path provides private access to sparkling Austin Creek.

Though Casa Verde feels world's away, this charming home is 7.8 miles from Sonoma Coast State Park and minutes from eclectic eateries and wine tasting rooms. Tee off at Northwood Golf Club (6.8 miles), or wander the wilds at Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve (12.2 miles).

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the nightly pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting "Yes" to pets. No more dogs are allowed.

Lovely cabin in the redwoods.

Very cool place. Modern and rustic. The creek access was great for the kids, very shallow when we were there. Which was a good thing! The hot tub was great. The washer was out but we were informed in advance so made sure we had enough clothes. Wish check out was 1 hr later though. Hard to get all out and cleaned up (no dishwasher) after playing hard.

Far From Perfect

I have stayed at this house before but it is no longer as nice as it was. The location is good, right on the creek, but the house, while clean was not up for a perfect week of relaxing vacation. The redwood stairs up to the house and deck are old, creaky, noticeably not level and include a dry rot hole that you, your child, or your pets foot could go through! No joke. It was shocking to see this kind of hazard at a rental. Inside, the coffee machine did not work, neither did the TV. There are mosquitos occasionally in the area and the screen door on to the deck was off its track and inoperable. And last, on the path to and around the hot tub there were pieces of broken glass. We called the rental agency and they quickly sent someone over. They were not able to fix the deck, the screen door or the TV. They used a blower to blow the glass away (away?! or just somewhere else!). The did bring a new coffee machine. Later that day the reached out and offered us some money back for the inconveniences but not enough to offset the frustration of dealing with these issues. The owner/rental agency now uses “dynamic pricing” and we paid a considerable premium to rent the house for a week over a national holiday. We rent often in this area and are familiar with other properties. Given the current price of the property and its lack of upkeep, you may want to look at other options.

Great views, shaggy grounds, broken hot tub, strange smells, terrible service

Before I get the standard response from Vacasa saying they're sorry about my inconvenience and they wish I had reached out to them during my stay so they could address it, I want to say that I did. I called Vacasa every single day of this trip, and I have called them every day since. The house itself is fine. The kitchen is fully stocked, the linens are plentiful, the deck is nice, the floors are clean, and the views are as pictured: You look straight into a redwood forest. No one has done any maintenance on the grounds in a long time, however; there are thorny blackberry bushes overgrowing the steps down to the creek and plants obscuring the steps up to the hot tub. The creek itself flows right up to the property, but because of this year's algae blooms, we didn't feel safe wading in with our four-month-old. The main problem was the hot tub, which was the whole reason we were there. When we arrived, the hot tub was cold and non-responsive. We called Vacasa, and they said a local vendor would fix it the next day. The second day we heard someone come around 7AM, but later that afternoon the hot tub was still broken. We called Vacasa again, and they said they would follow up with the vendor and email us with updates (there's no cell reception in the forest, so we couldn't receive calls or texts and had to use the house's landline to contact Vacasa.) The third day we called Vacasa again, and they said they could see that the hot tub would not be fixed before we left and that they would call us back the next day to discuss compensation. Wary at this point about Vacasa's promises, we asked them to email us confirmation. No email came. It's now two days since our trip, and I just called Vacasa, who never called me back to discuss compensation and who once again is telling me that after I hang up someone else will call me back to finalize the details of my compensation for the broken hot tub. When I said I didn't believe them and would rather stay on hold, the customer service representative (who I feel genuinely bad for), let me stay on hold for fifteen minutes and then panicked, returned to his same script, and pretended like our previous conversation had never happened. There's a binder in the cabin from "Russian River Getaways," the local company that previously managed the property before Vacasa corporatized it, and if you're looking to have a less maddening stay in a probably comparable if not better maintained home, I'd try booking with them. I wish I had.

Beautiful place

That's a beautiful house, very calm location. We missed some features typical in an Airbnb (coffee available, check out at 11am instead of 10am) but liked the place.

Wonderful cabin in the woods

Cozy and beautifully decorated cabin with a great fireplace, deck, and hot tub. Easy access to an unspoiled creek as well. Perfect getaway for our family!
