This carefully renovated country house preserves the cultural heritage of the rural environment. Breathtaking views towards the mountains, especially Špik, and a mighty lime tree in the meadow in front of the house complete the idyllic picture.
The interior of the country house has been restored with respect for the past. The work has been carefully done with a lot of imagination, original ideas, and artistic touch. The rooms have been renovated with a touch of the vanishing style of our ancestors and with skilful incorporation of modern elements that make modern living possible. The exhibits have been preserved, recalling the simple rural environment. Roughly worked wood, natural clay and carefully chosen colours give a feeling of warmth and coziness, creating an environment in which time stands still. The wooden furniture is handmade and treated with natural, environmentally friendly oils. Each piece of furniture is unique, you can feel the inspiration of the craftsman just by entering the room. All the rooms are decorated with handmade objects, hand-crafted clay lamps, paintings and photographs that will give you the feeling of being in an art gallery. The Country House Trata has seven apartments of different sizes, equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay and well-being. Next to the homestead, you will find our “ski room”, that is meant for storage of your ski equipment and bicycles. We have a lot of parking space reserved for our respected quests. We also have a “Sport&Fun” room in the barn, barbecue and sports ground are also provided on the property.

Here everyone gets something to indulge into – it will suit both those who are tired and only seek peace, fresh mountain air, and maybe a nice relaxing massage accompanied by delicious culinary creations, as well as those who will want an action packed holiday to remember.

Here are just a few suggestions for a half-day or full-day excursion:
The Martuljek waterfalls - two gems, with easy access through a picturesque gorge; The Natural Reserve Zelenci; The Tamar Valley; The mountain pass Vrsic; The Jasna Lake, where on hot summer days even swim; For the young ones - the discovery of Kekec land and Rajza through the paths of the fairy from the Triglav tales.

In winter, only a few steps from the house are the cross-country trails, ski slopes are only 5 min by car (3 km), the nearby hill is the perfect setting for sledding, ice skating,... Ski resort of Sella Nevea (Italy) 35 km, Višarje (Italy) 32 km, ski resort of Nassfeld (Austria) 56 km.

Here starts the longest (over 200 km) and one of the most beautiful and tidy bike path in Slovenia, taking you around the Julian Alps. The circular cycling route leads from Kranjska Gora through the Gozd Martuljka, Bled, Bohinj, Tolmin, Kobarid , Bovec and finally onto the pass back to Kranjska Gora.
By following this path for about 3 km you will be directly led to Kranjska Gora in just about 15 minutes, if you opt for the bicycle or a good half an hour if you choose to walk it.
