Luxe and Serene Living in Rural Potomac in Country Home w/ Hot Tub, Sauna

Our 5 BR/5.5 BA country estate is located in rural Potomac, MD, with almost 10,000 sq. ft. on 3 levels and fully outfitted with everything needed for the perfect stay. From tranquil outdoor spaces to open, bright, and airy interiors, this home is in a class by itself. Note: this is our personal home so there will be personal items in this home. We do our best to clear away as much of that as possible.

Sink into a cozy couch with a book in the spacious living room while the group chef whips up a feast in the state-of-the-art kitchen. Spend evenings in the basement playing ping pong or doing your best rock-and-roll impression on the Karaoke machine. Stay connected throughout your visit with high-speed WiFi, whether you’re remotely working or streaming all your favorite shows on the Smart TVs.

The bedrooms are elegant, comfortable and spacious, and more importantly, give everyone a peaceful and private retreat at the end of the day.

The amenities of this home are almost too many to list, but include a basement game room, a dramatic Steinway grand piano, a cedar Finnish sauna, a 3-car garage with EV charger, and 2 living spaces complete with their own fireplaces. All this in a walkable quiet neighborhood. We often say, “This house is for living,” as we see it not as a “rental”, but a place where families or friends can come together, make new memories, and truly feel at home.

Living Areas

The main living room is the heart of the home and the ultimate place for gathering with drinks in front of the wood-burning fireplace at the end of a long day. Natural light streams in through the picture window and the soaring cathedral ceilings make this space feel grand and majestic, yet still cozy and welcoming.

The 5-seat couch and armchairs ensure seating for all, whether for sharing stories, playing a lively game of charades or just stretching out for a lazy afternoon nap. The decor has a distinctly Scandinavian vibe, with white, stone, luxe textiles, and dark wood tones.

The piano room features a 7 ft. Steinway grand piano, ready for Christmas carols or background music for cocktail hour. Slightly more intimate and refined, this room features a gas fireplace, rich wood tones, a deep blue velvet couch and armchairs in a light-filled sitting area.

When you’re ready to let loose a little, head to the basement game room with a round of beers or your favorite mocktails and challenge family and friends to a friendly game of pool, a heated match of ping pong, or simply have a blast with the Karaoke machine.

Speaking of heated, enjoy the relaxation that can only come from a session in our Finnish dry sauna. The adjacent kitchenette with dishwasher and refrigerator makes easy work of keeping the group stocked in snacks and drinks.

This room offers the cure to any rainy day blues, whether you’re doing an all-day movie marathon on the 80” Smart TV, looking for a new book to get lost in, or need the kids to burn off some energy on the mini-trampoline (it’s fun for adults, too!)

The cozy sunroom with its super plush couch is the place to be when you’re looking for some alone time or the kids need their own space to hang out and watch some ‘toons.

Kitchen & Dining

The spectacular open-concept kitchen is every chef’s dream, with features including professional-grade Thermador stainless steel appliances. Imagine making a holiday meal fit for a magazine spread with two ovens, two dishwashers, a microwave, a large gas range, a generous supply of pots and pans, and more. Even if your idea of cooking is heating up leftover takeout, this kitchen may just inspire you to try your hand at a new culinary masterpiece. The spacious counters are roomy enough for several people to work side-by-side. This may be the perfect opportunity to learn a generations-old family recipe alongside a parent or grandparent!

Also included is a toaster, full-size refrigerator and freezer, and a Moccamaster and Keurig coffee maker. Serving meals is no problem with a full set of glassware and dinnerware, including special dishes for the kiddos.

Dine in the elegant, bright, and airy dining room with views to the outside through large windows. The table seats up to 10 with stately upholstered dining chairs around a large farmhouse table. The elegant decor features nods to both Asian and Scandinavian design aesthetics with clean lines and subtle washes of color.

For a quick meal, the small kitchen table seats 4-6 and even makes a great kids’ table for a holiday meal. It shares the same open and light space of the living/kitchen areas so you’re never far from the action. There is also seating at the counter for a great point of view to watch the cook do his or her thing or to just grab a quick breakfast and coffee before the day begins.

Bedrooms & Baths

The primary king suite is a dream come true and you’ll be looking for excuses to go to bed early just to nestle in the luxurious king bed with the softest premium bedding. There is enough space to do a morning yoga routine and then lounge on the loveseat catching up on social media while you sip on a steaming cup of tea or coffee. With plenty of clothing storage, feel free to pack those extra outfits you’re on the fence about!

The adjacent TV room is ideal for catching up on late-night viewing on the Smart TV without disturbing your early bird sleeping in the next room. There are 2 comfy armchairs, a mini fridge so chilled beverages are always on hand, and even an electric keyboard.

Get a total spa experience in the privacy of your en suite primary bath. Gleaming tile, wood cabinetry, and natural light combine to make this space feel like total luxury. Soak in the deep tub while bathed in light from the large window. We provide plenty of toiletries, so all you need is some soft music playing from your Bluetooth device.

A roomy tiled glass door shower provides a refreshing and relaxing shower experience with a rainfall and a handheld shower head. The expansive double vanity has oodles of counter space and storage for all your necessities.

Bedroom #2 has a queen size bed and a roomy closet along with a desk and is furnished with kid and teen-friendly decor. It has an en suite bathroom.

Bedroom #3 has a king size bed, desk, and closet. It shares a bathroom with bedroom #4, which has a tub/shower combo.

Bedroom #4 has a queen size bed, TV, and closet. It has a shared bathroom.

Bedroom #5 is on the main level and has a queen bed and a desk. It has a private ensuite bathroom.

The basement features a full bathroom and there is a half bath conveniently located on the main level near the living room.

Outdoor Amenities

A lot of just under 2.5 acres of serene lawn and woods surround our home. We welcome you to take time to explore, play, and wander the grounds. Let the kids get the wiggles out jumping on the backyard trampoline or doing cartwheels on the lush grass. We provide bikes with helmets and electric scooters, so feel free to get out there and explore!
Make a picture perfect picnic lunch and get everyone together at the dining table on the huge deck with views to the creek and woods for an unforgettable meal.

Experience true relaxation below in the private and secluded hot tub. There’s nothing like gazing at the clear star-lit sky with a glass of your favorite beverage in hand while the warm bubbles soothe muscles tired from a day of hiking or shopping.

There is parking for 2 cars in the garage and room for additional vehicles in the driveway!

The home is located in an idyllic upscale neighborhood next to a horse farm. Take in the scenery on your morning walk and you may even catch sight of a deer. There is a perfect 2-mile loop that we recommend, to the end of the cul-de-sac to the other side of the main street, for a brisk 30-minute workout.

Further afield, Potomac is teeming with fun-filled options for both families and adults. From hiking and serene gardens to art museums and markets, here are a few must-visit attractions that you and your loved ones should explore.

If you love hiking and nature walks, you'll enjoy exploring hike trails around Potomac. The Great Falls Canal Trail is one of the most popular places for families to enjoy a picnic or a bike ride. The trail runs along the beautiful Potomac River and the C&O Canal. Billy Goat Trail is another favorite for hiking enthusiasts that offers moderate to strenuous trails. If you want to explore the park's wildlife, head over to nearby Black Hills Regional Park, which boasts an abundance of flora and fauna.

When it comes to dining options in Potomac, you'll be spoiled for choice. Located in the heart of Potomac, MoCo’s Founding Farmers is a cooperative-grower owned eatery offering farm-to-table themed American bites in rustic digs. For a more exclusive dining experience, head down the road to Macon Bistro & Larder, which is renowned for its “classic French cuisine meets southern home cooking” style. For wine lovers, the Capital Wine School offers wine tasting lessons and dinners with their resident sommelier.

If you love art and architecture, you won't want to miss visiting the Glenstone Museum.
