Foreboding drive to property, but âŠâŠupon arrival it is like nirvana! What a joy for our five couples to each have a private bath and a half- bath for visitors. The game room âŠ..forget about it! Bring food to cook in a fabulous kitchen which has everything you may need and I mean everything. Ice machine made plenty for our stay. Bring wine for the wine fridge even. This place has it all.
Had a great time with my family and friends. House was beautiful. Communication with property manager was easy and she was very helpful. Would def recommend !
I rented the Loghouse with a dozen friends and we had fantastic time. It is very comfortable and well equipped. Check in was painless and we particularly appreciated the simple check out. I'd absolutely recommend staying here and plan to do so again!
My wife and I got married nearby and we and the wedding party stayed at the Log House for the weekend. Incredible place for a getaway with close friends. Spacious and modern interior, but still with a remote log cabin feel. Tons of outdoor space as well, along with two fully stocked kitchens. Only regret was not staying longer.
A large group of my friends all stayed here. The property is lovely and filled with activities (including a list of hiking trails) and both the beds and kitchen are fantastic. We were initially concerned about the solar power due to a heatwave but the AC stayed cool and the lights stayed on. Would absolutely stay here again.
The house was perfect for our family get together. The house is in a beautiful location and it was so peaceful. Everyone in our group had a great time and we can't wait to go back there.
We were there during a heat wave of 90+ temps and the AC set at 74 was not a problem at all.
The house is spotless and Stewart was very helpful with any questions we had. Highly recommend this VRBO.
My partner and I booked the house for a combined bachelor/bachelorette weekend with 20 friends and it was a blast. The location is perfect â secluded but only a few minutes from wineries and town. The house is amazing â spacious and comfortable with tons of games and amenities. We had both adults and an infant and everyone had everything they needed. We had no issues at all with the solar power and had plenty of electricity at all times. The only thing that may not be clear from the listing is that one wing of the house is a separate apartment that is booked separately so you might be sharing the property with other guests. This was not a problem at all for us and we hardly ever saw the other guests who were there (and who were very friendly) but just something to be aware of.
Our team of engineering leaders held a leadership teambuilding and strategy session at the house. It was a great location to enjoy the outdoors, prepare some great meals and align on our team's challenges. It was great to unwind at the end of the day by the fire and enjoy some friendly (I think you could call it that) competition on the shuffleboard and foosball tables.
We booked the house as its location was central to all of the golf courses we were playing. The house was amazing - from the spacious kitchen, to the living and bedrooms, the downstairs game room, and the deck. There is plenty of stuff there to keep you busy.
Stewart was very responsive to any questions we had. Highly recommend this VRBO.
I booked this property for a short retreat with colleagues. Several staff stayed at the house and other stayed at a nearby hotel (as we don't force staff to share rooms). Communication with Stewart leading up to our retreat was helpful, easy, and consistent. The house is beautiful and just as it is described, though the photos cannot do the kitchen and beauty around the house justice!
Spacious--Lots of room to be together and also room for privacy.
Bedrooms were just right and we loved the extra bathrooms in the Den and Kitchen area. Lots of room for meals: the adults at the big table and the grandchildren loved their big table on the deck.
The basement was equiped with many items for gametime for the older grandchildren and the younger ones loved the variety of games and toys for them.
Some shortcomings: Air Conditioning less than ideal; Internet and WiFi spotty (occasionally had to go outside or up the road a ways to get a better signal); Flickering lights at times. But, note that you are cautioned about these matters in the online listing descriptions.
A positive: a rare problem with the water system was dealt with as quickly as possible and a generous refund provided.
This is a beautiful, spacious log house in a beautiful remote location. but yet only a few miles from I-270.
The property itself was nice. We had a great stay, we do think that it should be in the description that they wonât drop the temperature past 74 degrees. The house is solar powered and they donât want you using the lights much or dropping the ac. Other than that it was a great stay.
Our group of 12 educators met for a before school starts retreat to plan for the year. The house was amazing! Plenty of room to meet in a large group and for break out groups. The prep kitchen was a nice touch, with the oversize refrigerator and huge freezer. Great for our teams to cook our daily meals. The only down side of the rental was the internet and phone access, very spotty.
Really nice layout secluded and private nice modern touches with a resort feel.
Great room and good size kitchen is perfect for family bonding time. A bathroom in every room made us all raise our standardsâŠwe can now have it no other way.
Had my 40th birthday with a few friends during the week. When we arrived the home was very clean and organized. It felt like we drove or flew to get to such a cozy dreamy place. Stewart was great! He responded to emails and text messages immediately. Note that wifi and service is spotty at this house. We were able to download our music playlists and used the provided bose bluetooth speaker for our small dance party. Texting over wifi worked great and we had a blast. Trails for sugarloaf are literally a walk down the street. We hired a chef one night and the extra prep room was awesome for them. I know we will be returning with family when we can. Definitely check this place out for your next getaway or event. We really loved it!
Sugarloaf is a beautiful home, with a lovely landscape and mountain scenery to match.
Our overall experience for our annual coupleâs retreat this Valentineâs weekend was satisfactory. We adhered to our lease agreement and any issues or concerns we had, we immediately addressed them with both the property manager and property owner.
The upstairs deck with the fire pit is a âmust see and must experienceâ especially with a glass of wine in the early evening. The deck is a highlighted focal point of the home especially if it snows! The ambiance of the landscape and wintery feel was all our group raved about.
Although there are numerous aspects to the house, our group thoroughly enjoyed the: 1. Upstairs Deck w/fire pit, 2. The downstairs covered patio attached to a game room for both children and adults, and 3. The kitchen!
Renter BEWARE! Do not come to this property to work! The scenery is just too much of a GREAT distraction.
We grew up in Damascus MD and currently reside in Atlanta. This home was built in 2019 by our family on family land. We are happy to share it's beauty with all our guests.
