Whether youâre looking for your next weekend getaway or planning a fishing trip with the boys, this is the place for you. This newly remodeled, cozy little home sitting near the railroad is conveniently, and centrally located just minutes away from the mighty Mississippi as well as Guttenbergâs vibrant, historical downtown center. This VRBO can sleep 3-4 comfortably with a queen bed and a twin bed, and more with two sofas accommodating for sleep as well as a fold out futon. (Things to note) If staying for a week or more, and the blue trash can on deck is full it would be much appreciated if it is taken out to the curb. Garbage goes out on Tuesday. I do not provide bathroom toiletries so I would recommend bringing your own shampoo, conditioner, tooth brush, too paste, etc. I have provided a charcoal grill, tools for use, would recommend bringing your own charcoal/lighter fluid as I do not provide that thanks.
This time of year the yard could use some TLC. There was trash around the porch area. Trash cans were really full. Something I wanted to let others know is that if there is 2 couples staying that the bathroom is located in the bigger bedroom. That made it hard to use the restroom without waking anyone up. There is no mirror in the bathroom and its very tiny. The twin size bed and futon wasnt very comfortable. The stove and oven doesnt work. We notified the guy who set us up for that. Location was great. This would be perfect for 1 couple and maybe 1 to 2 kids. use the bathroom without waking anyone up
Cozy little home. Perfect for a small family. Cute little ahips & restaurants with walking distance. Park & Mississippi River also within walking distance. Nice non commercialized area to stay & enjoy a small hometown feel.
Great value here. Stayed here with a few friends for a weekend getaway. House was spotless, beds were comfortable...coffee was great. No complaints, thanks!
Went hiking at pikes peak
Enjoyed local shops
Sodes was excellent little place to eat, checked out local brewery.
Had camp fires every night, weather was great.
Bathroom stool was loose.
Other than that the home was great for a weekend getaway. Probably better for a couple.
Arrived and the lawn had not been mowed at all this year. Weeds growing through deck. Front door jammed and had to push hard/use shoulder to open. The shades on many windows were broken and fixed with paper towels. Spiders and spider webs then greeted us in every room. Found cigarette butts inside on floor. Parts of the floor were falling off and would cause us to trip and step on the staples that were tried to use to repair it. A few ants on the kitchen table. Furniture that was broken and a trip hazard. I cut my finger and was bleeding on a piece I tried to move. TV in bedroom had a cracked screen, internet did not work. Contacted owner and all he did was apologize it didnât work. Not even antenna TV. Two rolls of toilet paper for a three day stay. Not enough blankets or bedding for sleeping â6â. Most of the outlets did not work, including the ones for lamps, so no light. Went out the side door, screen broken and falling off. No courtesy soaps for bathroom or shower. All in all, a very dissatisfying stay. I never write reviews, but in this case I feel it should be shared.
