Welcome to the Parsonage of Glen Haven. This home has been a cornerstone home for Glen Haven, WI for over 110 years and up till recently was a true Bed and Breakfast. Youâre going to love experiencing the great character and homeyness of your stay while being in the middle of everything to-do in the area. This home has plenty of room for a large family or multiple families looking to get away together. There are discounts for staying three nights or more. Ask us for things to do in the area.
This was a beautiful older home. Loved the original of the whole house, the creak of the floors, and the antiquey decorations. I had a question and the owners got back to me with a timely matter. The house was cleaned! They take really good care of it. The town is small and some people might bot like the 30 min drive to Wal-Mart. We don't mind it. It was a 5 minute walk to the Mississippi River and a cute little park that had some toys to play with. This is a place i would book again.
This stay was a mixed bag. Let's start with the positives: 1. The house is nice and spacious with room for our 3 families to stay together.2. Nice little town, picturesque and close to the boat launch. 3. Cindy from Kaufmann management was very responsive to communication. 4. Great price for a large house. Good value, overall. 5. House has a lot of charm, built in the 1800s. Negatives:1. Linens were not cleaned and beds not made when we arrived. (Cindy refunded the cleaning fee). 2. House seemed clean but it was unclear if the cleaners had been there. 3. Wifi was spotty at times. 4. Mouse droppings in the kitchen drawers. 5. Mattresses seemed old and sagged in the middle. 6. Oven not clean. 7. Toilet leaked and caused water damage dripping down into the entry way. Overall, we had a great weekend in spite of the challenges. Property management lives hours away, so they were not local to respond on site to issues, but were responsive via phone. It's hard to find a house at this price point that will be big enough for 16 people so it was nice to have a very affordable weekend with great proximity to the river.
Loved it! The town and house had a lot of history and was perfect for our three families to get together. The rooms and amenities were great and the hosts were very responsive and accommodating.
Everything was great. Lots of room for our big family. The place had everything we needed. We used every inch of the place inside and out. Communication with owner was great, one problem and it was handled fast.
Beautifully restored historic rectory with space for 13 people (maybe 8 adults, 5 kids). I enjoyed the memorabilia and Esser family history on display in the building. Full kitchen with electric stove. The area is beautiful.
This was our 2nd time staying here. We absolutely love this house. This house in centrally located with our ride and attractions we wanted to do. Very happy with the communication with the property manager (didn't really have a need for communication except check in). Tons of kitchen amenities if needed. We love the option of 3 bathrooms and 2 showers, especially after a day of dirty, dusty riding. We will definitely be back next year.
Each year our extended family finds a reasonably priced house large enough to hold us. This year we had 19! We had a great time! There had been so much rain that there was flooding across much of the state making outside kind of miserable and buggy, it would have been so much better if it wasnât flooded, but obviously no fault of the owners. It was 4th of July weekend and Bagley had weekend festivities to keep us busy, that was 15 minutes away. Glen Haven had a cute little bar where the teenagers went to have cheese curds. There was a very nice park close by (partially flooded, but very nice!) just a gorgeous little village to explore.
Things to know: in order to sleep 19 we had to put people on couches and air mattresses. There was plenty of room for this. Doors are old and heavy so even with little kids, it was easy to sleep in if you shut the doors, very quiet upstairs! Not all the bathroom doors lock so be ready to communicate! We had no cell phone service (which can also be an amazing thing.)
Overall I would highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing weekend away.
The listing did not do this place justice! Just to take in the historic beauty standing in the home was phenomenal! The dedication to preserve the home is heartwarming. I did not realize that I would see the Mississippi from the house! The church across the street gave the area such a spooky wonderful charm! Local places will tell you about the history as well. We were told this place was originally built for the pastor who lived across from the church! Just amazing. You will not be disappointed!
The property in Glen Haven was just as advertised! It was super clean and the woodwork in the house was beautiful! It was a great location for stopping in at some of the small towns in the area. We will be back!
The Parsonage was a great place for our family and grandchildren! We has a group of 11 that included 3 small children. We had lots of room to gather and eat! All the bedrooms were used! The beds were comfy too! Overall, the house was spacious and clean and a great place to make memories.
