Bright 2bd/1ba main level of home, partial water view, close to old town.
Adorable bungalow is 2 blocks from great waterfront walkway in Old Town. Close to fun shops/restaurants & short drive to trails, parks, beaches and more. Perfect for a weekend away or working remotely from a new spot that feels like home. Pet friendly so your best buddy can join you. You'll love that a wide variety of things to do are nearby. Reading is a passion, you can enjoy it too while looking out at the water & enjoying a cup o' joe (Whidbey Coffee?) or wine. 1 King/1 Queen. Fenced yard. There is a lower, separate studio unit I also rent out which has its own patio and fenced area. The unit advertised here is the main level of the house. Quiet hours from 10pm-7am to benefit guests and also to keep the neighborhood quiet. It is a very peaceful area.
The house was very nice and roomy for 4-6 people. The only mention would be the fact that there is a lower level rental that is not mentioned on VRBO. The renters that were there at the same time were no problem at all. It would be nice if the lower rental was mentioned.. we would definately stay again.Denise
If you're looking for a Millennial gray/beige short-term rental, this is not the place you. Instead, this is a quirky but cute cottage that is surprisingly spacious inside. It's clean, roomy, and cozy all at the same time. It's definitely owned by a dog lover as dogs are welcomed there and there are convenience dog items in the home, including lint rollers, dog bags, and dog toys. The backyard was perfect for our husky. We let her out the backdoor, and she was able to do her business without escaping. I loved not having a TV there (but for those looking for media on their trip, the WiFi is really good). We played Monopoly, walked downtown, went to the bookstore, and spent time with family who live nearby. It was a great trip, and the house was perfect for us. Thank you!
The best thing about this property is its location -- very convenient. If I had stayed for a longer period, it would have been nice to have a washer and dryer, and possibly a television.
Les points faibles : Emplacement et exactitude de lâannonce
There was no water front view. It was not disclosed that there would be other people staying in the basement. We woke up to them talking the morning after check in. It was non smoking but they were out in the porch smoking which the smoke traveled into our space. It was dog friendly and they had theirs out in the yard so it would have been awkward had our dogs been there, we usually travel with our dogs but this was last minute and chose not to this time. No tv. Owner said that was on purpose and there were games. There were three games that were old. No tv is kinda a big deal. We went and bought one and gave it away. Said there was a dining area. No there was a small bistro set in the kitchen. House came with no instructions for heating and air. We blew the circuits using one of their provided space heaters. There were extension cords everywhere. There were no curtains in the front of the house which was weird as while we were there two different renters occupied the basement. Having said all that it was clean and the bed was comfortable. Place needs some major updating. I would not stay there again.
Nice location. Quiet. No television Could have used a checklist of what amenities were provided and how to check outWe didnt know exactly the owners expectations and wanted to be quality guests. We would rent againThank you
House is very close to downtown. Dishwasher does not clean dishes. House definitely needs some maintenance (curtains held up with bread tie in living room). Shower was spacious
Communication with the owner was great and informative. We did not eat there, but the kitchen seem to have everything we needed. Lots of wine glasses, but no glass water glasses, so we bought a couple. Bathroom Towels were great, wifi was good, but no TV. I missed that.
Very quaint and cozy and so close to the water. The backyard was great. My only complaint would be that the mattresses on both beds should be replaced, they were quite hard. Otherwise, very cute place! Thank you!
Well located to walk to the waterfront and old town. Easy drive to everything else. Well stocked kitchen and lovely deck with peek-a-boo view of the water. The house is comfortable but old. Beds are hard and hot water only lasted for 1 1/2 showers. Internet is excellent and we were able to stream movies. Itâs best asset is location!
We enjoyed our stay but were unaware that there is no TV. There should be a sheet telling how to use the heat system and what day to put the garbage out as the can was full when we got there. There are a lot of plants outside and no hose to water them.
This neighborhood is quiet and lovely, plus only a couple of blocks south to the harbor which has a walkway to the marina or to Old Town. As a dog owner, we spend a lot of time walking along the water to the local, nearby parks (Flintstone & Windjammer), stopping along the way at the wonderful Whidbey Coffee. Old Town has a lot of unique shops and good restaurants to sample. The location is great in accessing Hwy 20 heading north or south to do all the activities on Whidbey Island with lots of great nature walks/hikes only 15 minutes away. The house does NOT have a TV, on purpose, as this is my haven to relax and recharge - I keep books and some games onsite for people to reconnect with each other. The fenced back yard is important for my pets and those of my guests as this is a dog and cat friendly house - just please make sure to clean up after yourselves (fur/back yard "dog bombs").
This is a laid-back cottage vibe on purpose. It's not meant to be "modern" and it's much more about relaxing, artwork, books, walks by the water, and overall chilling out. You can relax here or go to the many activities and natural settings of Whidbey Island, or even nearby Fidalgo and the lovely town of Anacortes. It's about 50 minutes to the south end of the island and 20 minutes to the north end traffic circle that takes you east or west on Hwy 20. Deception Pass is a fantastically gorgeous place to experience and you're only 15 minutes away from it and to the south to Ebey's Landing and the nearby ferry to go to Port Townsend on the WA peninsula.
