The cottage is clean, private, comfortable, and furnished with everything we needed. The location is perfect: private and quiet, in walking distance to the beautiful beach, and an easy drive to Portland. The hosts are responsive and welcoming.
This sparkling beach cottage has everything you need for a relaxing stay in Pine Point. 2 minute walk to the beach and a short ride to Portland ME and Old Orchard. Restaurants all nearby.
We loved the cottage. Great location, easy walk to the beach and close to good restaurants. Everything was very neat and clean and well laid out. Would definitely stay here again.
We really enjoyed our stay! Located on a quiet street, the house was well equiped, clean and fitted our family needs. Would definitely consider going back.
Everything went great: the house was beautiful, well furnished and equiped like a « home » with dishes, pots and pans, towels, you name it!!!
WE WANT TO GO BACK!!!
Thanks to the owners who take very good care of this place.
The cottage was very clean and just the right size for my husband and I. Just a block away from the ocean and centrally located for our tourist destinations. Communication with the owners was great when needed.
We stayed 2 weeks...everything you need is there including chairs to take to the beach which is only a block away....also there is a trolley service ($1 for Srs & Vets) that takes you to Old Orchard Beach every hour. The drivers are worth the ride.....If you can't find a place to Eat, Drink, Dance, Listen to Music, Hike, Canoe etc......you didn't look out the door.......
We had a great week here. The cottage had board games, card games, camp chairs, and a fully stocked kitchen, including Keurig and drip coffeemakers! We had everything we needed for our small family of three.
Rose Wind Cottage comes with its own tiny bird sanctuary outside the living area window. Just a short 3 block walk to beach access. Karen keyed me in to sand dollars in the morning. All the necessary amenities were at hand.
Lovely Bungalo very close to Beautiful Pine Point Beach
Karen is a top notch host. Towels provided were better than the ones I brought from home!! Cottage is spotless and has everything you might need. Only suggestion I have is bring some various size plastic containers or bags in case you have leftovers, salt & pepper. Location is close to Ken's for fabulous fried haddock and Lobster pound within 2 blocks. BEACH IS everything!!
This little house is a paradise nested in splendid vegetation, blooming flowers, and frequented by all kind of beautiful birds. During my stay (first week of June), it was absolutely quiet (no neighbours) -- unless some construction nearby that was annoying but tolerable. The house itself is very comfy and filled with everything you will need and more. Books, games, very well equipped kitchen, beach chairs (That's really nice), etc. The beach is at 5 minutes and it's a very nice one. All the vicinity is beautiful, reminding me of my childhood...;) Thank you Karen!
The owner of the property is very nice and helpful. The property was clean. Some things that were hard to work with were: the mattresses were very uncomfortable. The bathroom is very small and no countertop to hold stuff and that was difficult being there wasnt a space in the bedrooms to get ready with a mirror. The parking is awful! The driveway is so narrow, it is very hard to get in and out of your car ( our rental was a Ford Edge, so it wasn't that big, but we had almost no space due to the bushes on one side and the fence on the other side. There is only one love seat in the living room area to sit on, so if you have more than 2 people, this isnt the place for you. There is a papermill somewhere near this area, so the air smelled horrible. If you go to this area off season, Old Orchard Beach is a ghost town. We were mainly going to Portland and south to Kennebunkport, so we were ok. Again, I am not trying to be critical or mean, just practical. Vacations need to be a nice get away! without frustrations. If you can deal with everything I just mentioned, then this cute cottage will be fine for you. If not, I would look somewhere else. Our hotel we stayed in on our last night was so much more comfortable than the cottage. Just FYI
Rosewind cottage was the perfect stay for our annual anniversary trip. Itâs less than a minute walk to the beach and pine point is just a beautiful neighborhood easily accessible from Portland and Old Orchard Beach but just far enough out of the bustle to be a bit on the quieter side, at least when we were there in October. The cottage had all the necessities and we appreciated the little touches like the throw blankets, games and puzzles. And the towels were so soft! We walked the beach every day and weâre so glad we went out at low tide on a particularly gloomy day and found 20 sand dollars!
Karen and Stephen Seymour have been married for 20 years and have lived in Maine for 10 years. Karen is a recreation supervisor for the City of Portland, Maine and Stephen is a kindergarten teacher in Raymond, Maine. Both Karen and Stephen have worked as naturalists at a number of nature centers on the east coast and mid-west; Stephen was an educator for Sea World of Ohio for six years. As a couple, Stephen and Karen love playing all sorts of card games and board games and spending time with family and friends.
Karen and Stephen have always loved the ocean and spend more time walking on the beach in winter than in the summer! Pine Point is one of the best beaches they have ever walked, and the community is not over-commercialized.
