Why rent a Hotel when you can have a whole House!!
Whether you are visiting your child at UNE or looking for a peaceful weekend away, we have the location for you! Situated on a Rachel Carson preserve and just a 30 second walk across the street to the beach, you can come and enjoy your time away from it all! You can walk to the university, walk on the beach, or spend some time out in the backyard watching birds and a Beautiful sunset on a tidal marsh while sitting by the fire. We are located just approximately 20-25 minutes from Kennebunkport and Portland if you are looking to spend some time shopping, sightseeing, and then coming back to unwind!
We were very happy with our stay. The property was exactly as described, clean and had everything we needed. The beach was just steps away, and we loved the quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Highly recommend!
My family of three stayed here for three nights and it was a perfect quck get away with lots of options! The beach is right across the street and it was never crowded. We brought our kayaks and put them in the water behind the house to do some bird and critter watching. Nice quiet neighborhood. We spent one afternooon in Kennebunport (20 mins away) and one night at old orchard (20 mins away) to play in the arcade and ride the rollercoaster. There's something for everyone!
Cottage was clean, cute, and the property location was excellent. Steps away from sandy Hill beach and large outdoor space back at the cottage. Owner was a great communicator and was available to answer any questions. We were happy to be able to bring both our small dogs with us. Would rent here again.
This is a great spot for enjoying the Maine shore. Backs up to a beautiful marsh and just across the street from the beach. Hosts make it easy and the cottage is very cozy! Would definitely visit again!
We stayed here during a long weekend and it was a cozy beach vacation. Everything we needed was steps away from the house. There was a firepit outback as well as an outdoor shower, if you are there in the warmer months., I would recommend to a small family that wants to get away and enjoy the peaceful coast of Maine.
This place was great. Quiet and scenic location. The space inside feels much larger than it seems from the outside. Was cozy and welcoming. We had a lovely time!
This place is highly recommended. The owners are amazing and on top of everything. We stayed for the week for our honeymoon and what an amazing place to spend our honeymoon! Thank you to the Clark family for letting us stay here can not wait to go back!
Joe made this an easy experience, provided plenty of information about the rental and the area. The house was clean and just right for us three and our two dogs. Easy to get to surrounding areas and very peaceful. A retreat from our hectic lives.
The cottage is adorable, and very clean with cute beachy decor. The backyard is RIGHT ON a gorgeous salt marsh, National Wildlife Sanctuary. Bring your binoculars! 6 Adirondack chairs surround a chiminea. Such a relaxing wonderful spot. A right of way path to the beach, ocean is right across the road. There is a nice long dog run which my dog used a lot to be out with me enjoying the yard.
The house was just what we needed to spend the week in Maine visiting a UNE student. Close to campus but also quintessential Maine coastal rental. We had beautiful fall weather while we were there so were able to enjoy the patio and also the backyard fire area with choice of solo stove or chiminea and Adirondack chairs and a picnic table overlooking the water. Easy access to Hills Beach, a quiet sandy beach across the street, and a short distance to Fortunes Rocks Beach. The house was clean and had everything we needed to cook a full meal and enjoy hosting a small dinner. The bedrooms were small but perfect for what we needed. We appreciated having a washer and dryer in the house and cable TVs. Host was responsive and informative. Will definitely be back!
This property puts you back in time. It is so quiet and peaceful, yet perfect distance to what you need. LL Bean in Freeport and Kennebunkport are so close. Many things to do.
We brought our kayaks and launched both from the back of the house and across the street in the ocean. Went to Market Basket for our lobsters and steamer clams every night. We frequent VRBO's and my 17 year old son was so happy to have ice from the refrigerator, lol.
The house is very clean and decorated beach style, so comfy. I didn't need a thing and I'm always the one who brings extras so I am comfortable.
Nice to have real cable instead of on demand for the late evening. We bought firewood and sat by the fire.
The host was great to communicate with. Gave us great advice!
Definitely visit Ken's in Scarborough, it was yummy!
Need to plan our next trip back!
Just returned from a Friday-Sunday stay. It was myself, my husband, and our two young daughters. Very cute house...3 proper bedrooms and one loft (which my kids loved!). One bathroom-small but suitable. Best part of the property was the location....behind the house is a picturesque marsh...and across the street just a short walk is a very pretty, very quiet beach. We were the only ones there almost always. It is a bay area, so no waves, great for a protective mom, the kids were not as happy lol. But all sand, and really nice.
House was well appointed with basically everything you need. Owner requested we bring our own toilet paper and paper towels (which should be included at house, imo...), but when we arrived they were indeed supplied, so they were not necessary. Plenty of clean linens and kitchenware. Oh-there was a great outdoor shower which I didn't intend to use but the kids loved it after the beach-a nice perk.
The only critique I can offer, which really is out of the owners hands, is that the other houses nearby are very, very close. There are large windows, so there was not a lot of privacy. The other downside to this was one of the neighbors decided to throw a very loud get together that went well into the early morning....and faced all of our sleeping windows. Simply due to the proximity of their property, it did keep us awake. Bad luck I guess.
All in all it is a wonderful location that we would happily stay in again. Thank you!!
Joeâs beach cabin was an absolutely perfect location for may familyâs trip to the Biddeford area. The space was comfortable, kitchen well stocked, and most importantly for us, the location was fantastic. Literally across the street from a wonderful sandy beach and butting up directly to a beautiful salt marsh - we only wish we could have stayed longer. Hoping to come back before too long!
For two families with small babies, it was enjoyable to stay at. Despite weather being rainy/cloudy it was nice to have it close to the beach to walk down to!
I enjoyed my stay at this cozy, warm cottage. The location couldnât be better. The home backs to a picturesque reserve. The beach is across the street and you can watch the sunrise from the living room!
A huge thank you to Joe for allowing us to rent this little slice of heaven. The cabin was clean and cozy, we also loved the grassy backyard for our pup and enjoyed sâmores by the firepit.
The location was secluded, but still a short drive from little shops and restaurants. There are definitely some gems to explore in this town!
We enjoyed the beach area too, just across the street from the property. Great location and friendly neighbors too!
With the proximity to the beach and the serenity of the marsh, spending our days in the water, cooking out, kayaking, watching birds and beautiful sunsets. Set back off the road, itâs just peaceful.
