Family celebration of life

We had a celebration of life for my dad and this cabin was the absolute best for all the family to spend time together reflecting on all the good times my family had and helped us create new memories.

Escape to the Escape

What made it even better was the very large fenced yard and the way the stairs and gates were set up. We could let the dogs out and they could go downstairs and straight to the yard! It was perfect! No stress over making sure they didn't get out. Even though the house is away from the beach, we could still hear the waves and that was excellent too. The neighborhood being gated was a bonus and no beach access topped it off! If you are looking for a truly stress free and relaxing spot, this is it. The house was very nice inside. No clutter, everything you need in the kitchen, great bathroom, and comfortable beds. Couldn't have asked for more. We always rent through Cobb for a reason. They are the best for information, accommodations, pricing, cleanliness, friendly, and I can't say enough! Thank you for another great trip. You know we will be back!

Not as advertised...

The home looks beautiful in the pictures, the interior is. Upon arrival, the exterior of the home was not as pictured in the listing. The garage door rusty, decking had significant paint wear and nails sticking up. Several boards had been recently replaced but no paint. The face of the home was covered in black sut, something easily maintained with some care. As we walked into the home there was a smell of mold or mildew. A/C was set to 81, so this did not help. The A/C struggled to cool the house, even though we only had highs of 80 degrees outside. I contacted Cobb Real Estate for the third time in this process. For the third time, they were less than helpful and quite honestly...rude. I was instructed to lower the thermostat 2 degrees at a time to "to prevent the A/C from freezing over". If the A/C freezes over at 80 degrees, the unit is either to small for the home or there is an issue with the A/C. Not only that but I did not pay to babysit the thermostat. I get it, this is a rental community and people abuse these homes. I understand that some of this comes with being so close to the beach and salt water. However, with a little care these things are a total non-issue to a family renting a home for the weekend. I have rented in Crystal Beach for a long time and booked numerous houses. I have never dealt with this sort of issue. The management company acted as if this were normal.

It is exceptionally clean, the kitchen is well appointed with appliances, utensil's, coffee makers and toaster. The furniture and beds are high quality and extremely comfortable. The location is close to everything; beach, beach cart rental, groceries and dining. Cobb makes it easy when you include the linen option which we highly recommend.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our stay was good. Couple of things that are hard to gauge while booking were that there is no vehicle beach access from this street. Have to go out of the gate and onto the highway to go in another way. You can get there via walking or golf cart though. Make sure to bring all spices and ingredients/oils for cooking. There are none. The back yard was GREAT for the pets; however, we almost lost one of our dogs due to a hole in the fence that we weren’t aware of. Likely fixed by now. Overall a good location and nice house!
