Unfortunate Stay
The most significant problem was the lack of sufficient hot water for showers, a necessity after a day of skiing. Another major issue was the extremely dirty dishwasher, which was unusable due to piles of food debris, including whole french fries. Upon arrival, we also found a bag of trash sitting outside the door.Additionally, several aspects of the property required updating. These weren't a big deal but stacked on top of everything else, just ended up being extremely frustrating. That included broken blinds in the master bedroom, a burned-out light in the closet entry, and a broken sliding chain lock. A kitchen window wouldn't latch shut, allowing cold air in. We attempted to use the fireplace to compensate, but it was not working. When I contacted guest services, I was informed it was not listed as an amenity, which was apparently my fault for assuming it worked.The following day, we discovered the inadequate hot water supply. I contacted customer service multiple times throughout our five-day stay, but the communication was severely lacking. The only action taken was a visit to confirm the hot water issue. Frustrated, we left a day early and secured alternative accommodations to ensure we could shower. We love Crystal Mountain and have been visiting for 20 years but have never stayed at a Vacasa rental and unfortunately won't again due to the extreme lack of communication.
