Step back in time and experience the detailed craftsmanship and gorgeous woodwork of the early 1900s. Located in Hutchinson's historic district, this home has high ceilings, wooden floors, and tall windows.
Fall asleep to the flickering flames of the fireplace in the bedroom, and wake up to a full kitchen for cooking breakfast.
Soak in the clawfoot tub, cuddle up with an antique book, or start a game with some friends. We welcome you to unplug from life's bustle and connect with loved ones.
The three bedrooms and only bathroom are on the second floor, with a spacious living room, kitchen and dining area on the main floor. There are also three steps leading up to both the front and back doors.
Consider booking our apartment right next door, "The Loft on Avenue A" if you have more than seven people in your group. This is an ideal set up for family get togethers.

Beautiful home. Excellent host.

If you love old homes and appreciate a host that goes above and beyond, this place is for you! Comfortable beds, a well stocked kitchen, and full size shampoo, conditioner, body wash, dish soap, etc. are just the beginning of the nice touches you’ll find in this beautiful home. You can tell the host sincerely wants your stay to be comfortable and enjoyable. My only regret is that I didn’t take time for a long hot soak in that gorgeous old clawfoot tub.

A Wonderful Historic Experience

My daughters and I stayed in this roomy and beautiful home for two nights recently. It was definitely a home away from home and we enjoyed our stay immensely!!Eric and Angela were wonderful, kind hosts and so very helpful. Thank you for sharing this home with us!

Beautiful Historic Home, but….

We stayed there because we could not get a refund in spite of a cancer diagnosis that changed our Thanksgiving location. The home is lovely, but the ONLY bathroom and three bedrooms are upstairs. My husband and I are senior citizens, so that was not good. I did not read the fine print for the listing, but it should be front and center. I would not recommend it for younger children as the stairs are somewhat steep and hardwood. It’s not for anyone with any physical condition, either.

This was the 1st time we’ve used VRBO. The owner impressed us with little extras we did not expect (complimentary snacks and detergent and coffee. Thanks to the owners for making our stay enjoyable and convenient to the fair grounds.

Beautiful historic home

We had a wonderful time at this historic home. I couldn’t get over the beautiful wood details, windows, and antique hardware throughout the home. It is well styled and very comfortable to stay. The owners made the process easy and we’re very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Lovely historic home

So much charm in this historic home! The downstairs living spaces are larger than I expected! Bedrooms are a great size too. Very clean and comfortable accommodations. Bathroom and kitchen are well stocked with absolutely everything you need. We would definitely stay here again.

The Best Experience

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with this home. It was extremely clean and had absolutely everything we could possibly need. All of the cabinets were labeled, which made it so easy to find everything. Very easy entry procedures and the host responded within a matter of minutes when I had any questions. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Hutch going forward! Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable!

Next to excellent!

The house was beautiful. Everything was clean, neat and on sight (there was labels of what was where). Beds were comfortable and had a good night sleep. Only downside is there was no TV. Overall a very comfortable stay. Communication was excellent. Would definitely book again.

Met all our needs.

The house was in a good location for our needs. The check in/out process was seamless. Excellent communication from host. We would use this location again should the need ever arise. My only suggestion would be to add curtains or blinds that are not see through to the main level floor windows and the front door. Not having blinds/curtain on the front door and with the lace see though curtains on the main level windows made us feel as if we were in a fishbowl and it was a little unsettling at night. Besides that, this property was great and met our needs.

Hi, I'm Angela, married to Eric. I'm a massage therapist, and Eric runs a wholesale bakery specializing in noodles and crispy little cookies. We enjoy cooking and gardening together on our little city lot here in Hutchinson's historic district.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We chose to buy the Welch house because it is right next door to our house, and we love hospitality. Its adjoining lawn has provided space for Eric to raise a few chickens and rabbits, and Angela to have a few more flowers. And we both love having a hot tub to use when we aren't hosting guests!

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

We're told that the Welch house has the most elaborate, intact woodwork in Hutchinson's historic district. We really felt like this house is so beautiful, it should be shared with many people.
