This comfy tiny house is your private oasis for a quiet getaway. (Please no kids under 12) The Mountain Laurel tiny house is on our 5-acre family estate that we call Deerhaven Retreat. A queen bed downstairs and 2 twins in the upstairs loft (low 5 ft ceiling) can sleep up to 4. Full kitchen and bathroom with shower provide everything needed. Amenities included: WiFi, Roku TV, AC/heat, stove/oven, fridge, Keurig coffee, tea, toaster, microwave and outdoor BBQ. Enjoy a Hill Country vibe that's only 8 minutes to shops & dining! Not suitable for pets or children under 12.
Itâs not so tiny! Full size range/oven, micro & fridge to cook full meals. Plenty of dishes, pots/pans, cutlery, cookware, drinkware. Keurig, tea kettle, blender, etc. Pantry for groceries. Comfy mattress with nightstands & power/usb stations on each side. Plenty big closet. Cubby big enough to use our laptop as a tv at night (no tv in primary). AC great & ceiling fans in living & primary. Full size living room with Roku tv, sofa & two chairs. Coffee table moveable for 1 person to do yoga. Lots of windows/light in high-ceilinged living area. Loved waking up to watch deer every morning. Appreciated hostsâ personal touches-basket of coffee, tea, sugars, also oats & breakfast bars, a bucket of fresh ice in freezer (freezer uses ice trays). Did not use upstairs beds, but suitable for kids/smaller adults. Full size shower, but bathroom too small for multiple people to get ready at same time. Did not use washer/dryer (elsewhere on property). We chose this for it's proximity to friends & golf courses & it was perfect. Easy to get to airport & downtown. Super quiet, almost rural. Area is more hill country than typical SA. Hosts easy to reach when had a question just after arrival. There was a note in the bath that time should be allowed between showers cuz water heater was small, but we never had a problem-but we are conscious of water saving/rationing & shut off water while lathering. Parking right outside front door, slightly covered by tree canopy. Would 100% stay here again!
I have no complaints. It was a really cool small home that I really enjoyed staying in. If I'm back in the area, I would look to see if it was available again.
We stayed at the property for 10 days and absolutely loved it. There is a sense of peace and serenity that overwhelms you as you sit in the house and watch the deer wander by in the morning. My wife didn't want to leave! While technically a "Tiny House", we found it to be very comfortable and well designed. We even hosted Christmas Eve dinner for 8 guests (we ate outside at two table from the property) and had no problems. Which brings me to my review.... The house is very well stocked with dishes, pots, towels, sheets, etc. which you would expect. But it also had a number of nice touches you might not expect - little notes around the house answering questions that have no doubt come from guests over the years, a supply of cooking spices in the kitchen, hair dryer, ironing board, various kitchen utensils, a wide ranging collection of books - in short it was more of a comfortable home than what you might envision in a "tiny house". And finally, I want to complement our hosts. Hospitality is not easy - but Chris and Catherine made us feel welcome during our whole stay. We would absolutely rent the "Texas Tiny house again!
Not used to all the noise, traffic and commotion in the city. Loved coming back to this little house. Quiet, comfortable, peaceful! And all the comforts of home. Only downside is didnt see an armadillo!! 5 plus stars!!
Nice location on the outskirts of San Antonio's. Tiny house is adorable with lovely amenities. Enjoyed seeing the deer in the mornings. Very responsive and helpful host/hostess. Loved every moment. We would definitely recommend this location.
My buddy and I stayed here for a wedding and it was a perfect little spot. Had everything we needed, plenty of space and extremely clean. A+ experience.
If weather could have cooperated, it would have been better. I only offer suggestions as the little cabin was great for a short stay. Very convenient drive to medical center from Huebner. A cover over the stoop of the little cabin would have been nice due to the rain and a better path to the unit as it was a bit muddy. Otherwise, we had a nice host and a very friendly black kitty who welcomed us each day. Thank you.
This tiny house is cute and comfortable. The view on the property is full of deer and Texas scrub oaks. Definitely a peace filled sanctuary to rest your body, mind and soul at!
This is a lovely, magical property! The house is cute and clean and well appointed. Have your morning coffee outside and watch dozens of deer graze in the yard and surrounding forest. Baby skunks, a super friendly big black cat, chickens, all delightful⊠We really loved this vacation rental. Thank you!
We loved our getaway to this tiny house. Our goal was to visit Guadalupe State Park which was about a 20 min drive away. The house was a perfect layout and spotless with all the needed amenities. We appreciated the coffee for the keurig! Saw multiple deer and a fox. We will definitely be back!
We were in town for a college graduation. The tiny house had more than enough room for 2 adults. We enjoyed quiet country feel of the property. Plenty of deer and more to enjoy. It was a relaxing weekend in a wonderful location. A lot of thought has been put into making the grounds a natural retreat.
Beautiful cabin and peaceful environment. My husband and I have stayed at many VRBOs and this was the best experience we have had. It would have been the perfect place to see the total solar eclipse if the clouds hadn't rolled in. Still worth it. We enjoyed the sky, trees, birds, butterflies and deer from our secure and serene location. We felt very much at home. The cabin was immaculate.
A peaceful setting where nature in many forms speaks to your senses. Deer appeared & disappeared into the surrounding cedar forest. Fantastic 4 day getaway. The hosts & accomodations were top notch!
The Gappa's from Fort Worth,TX
Cottage was as described. Everything was clean. Bed comfortable and bathroom good despite having to wait between showers due to small water heater. Living room furniture a bit aged and somewhat uncomfortable. Owner was great to work with. All in all a nice spot for 2 nights from which to visit San Antonio and have a safe spot for our travel trailer.
very clean, cozy, comfortable, and accommodating. they literally have anything you could need too, it was awesome. beautiful property, we saw a couple of deer and the sweetest pup and cat. not too far out of san antonio to be able to go do things, but far enough away from the busy-ness of the city! thoroughly enjoyed staying here and hope to get to come back in the future!
We had such a fun stay at this cabin. The hosts are so friendly and provide coffee and tea and snack bars. We had visiting deer every day and an adorable black cat. It was great to relax at such a quiet location after a day of running around. The beds are also super comfortable. Thanks for an amazing weekend!
