1st floor private suite with 2 entrances. Filled with light and art in our pre Civil War home in the heart of Harpers Ferry. Brand new bathroom!
Historic Harpers Ferry, with homes on the national register of historic places, brick sidewalks. Easy walking distance to all attractions and train station.
Parking directly in front of house. You may leave your car during your visit, and walk to all attractions! Quiet hours after 10PM
This stay had all the essentials for a quick solo weekend getaway. The property was nearby plenty of food options, parks, and a quick walk to Lower Town & the National Park buildings and plenty of hiking trails. The mini fridge was very convenient for ledtovers from all of the shops and bakery nearby. There were cobwebs is almost every corner and doorway. Was a bit distracting, but didnât stop me from enjoying my stay. And the A/C was running constantly, making it more enjoyable to sit in the screened porch at some times since they was no way to control the room temperature that I was aware of.All and all, a great stay in Harperâs Ferry. There
Listing exactly as described. Christie was helpful on arrival in getting oriented in Harper's Ferry- very welcoming and knowledgeable. The house is in a great location, quiet, safe, updated perfectly, and incredibly clean. The room was beautifully appointed with thoughtful details for travelers. The covered porch attached to our room was the perfect place to enjoy my morning coffee. Would recommend to anyone traveling to the area!
Christieâs place is exactly as described and her reccomendations were excellent. The room was beautiful with charming personal touches. The screened in porch overlooking the back yard was a perfect spot for coffee in the morning or to unwind after a hike. The location was walkable to both lower town as well as a few lesser known spots in âupper townâ. We will definately keep this place in mind for our next visit to Harpers Ferry.
The room was clean, nicely decorated and well appointed. Our host was fantastic and made sure we were well taken care of. Great location within walking distance to restaurants, bars and historical sites.
Room very clean, our room had side porch. Access to kitchen, top of hill of Harper's Ferry so easy to get street parking and permit provided for parking. Host quick to respond, mostly via text. Very accommodating. This is the second year we stayed and we will go back.
Our amazing host Christie warmly welcomed us upon arrival at the lovely, quaint historical home. She provided a tour of the entry level and kitchen area with its many amenities. She took us to our room on the second floor and spoke to the special features of the accommodations. Christie is the consummate host. She is kind, responsive, and resourceful. She makes you feel like a king and queen!
We had such a lovely stay in this beautiful house in Harper's Ferry. Our room was absolutely lovely and our host could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We hope to return and stay here again!
Christie was a wonderful host and gave lots of good information for both myself and my daughter to both do and see. She has the history of the area and the property was both clean and well set up. We enjoyed the veranda and short walk into town. A parking pass was also provided to park right in front of the home. Thank you for a wonderful stay! :)
Christine has thought of everything to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable! The room was beautifully decorated, with an in room espresso machine, snacks, mini fridge and flashlight for your night time explorations! The bed was very comfortable! She is so friendly and knowledgeable, we canât wait to return!
This property is exactly as advertised and then some. It exceeded our expectations. Attention to detail is in every aspect of the Parisian Suite. It is decorated beautifully. The bed is very comfortable. We were the only ones in the house so it was a very quiet experience. We parked our car upon arrival and didn't drive it until we left. We walked everywhere. Christie is an exceptional host and gave us a list of suggestions for places to see, things to do and where to eat. We were happy with all the recommendations we tried. If our future allows us to, we will return and stay in the Parisian Suite.
We were pleased with both the property and the location. We arrived early in the day ahead of check in time but the property manager provided us with the parking permit so we could park the car and start exploring. We could walk to everything. Yes, it is downhill to the historical sights which means uphill on the way back. But we took our time and even saw some deer the one afternoon.
The property was very clean and as pictured on the website. One suggestion would be to provide some luggage racks so we wouldn't have our bags sitting on the floor.
Also, and I admit this is something missing from most rentals, is towel racks. The towels and washcloths had a musty odor which happens when left damp and without somewhere to hang them after showering this was unavoidable.
Overall we would recommend Trouvaille house if you are visiting the area. We had a relaxing visit and hope to return to the area some time in the future.
Room was just as described and Christie was a trove of information for restaurants, things to do and shortcuts to get around. Donât miss the Bolivar Bakery just a couple doors down the street (the scones are phenomenal) and a walk through the Storer College on the way to Jefferson Rock. Suite 2 is not the largest, but we LOVED the little screened porch and listening to the rain falling on the leaves while tree frogs and birds chirped away⊠our first trip to Harperâs Ferry, but we will be back!!!
A wonderful stay! We want to come back to visit Harper's Ferry. Jody was our host and was amazing to us! No complaints about her. Overall we really enjoyed everything about staying there.
A couple of things to change would be temp in room( way to cold) and no refrigerator in the kitchen. It definitely needs one! The shower floor needs a lip so water doesn't run all over the bathroom floor. Anoying but easy to fix I think . Everyone please try them out. It is worth the money!
We loved our stay! It is a cute little place with a great story. Managed superbly. Super clean rooms etc. but LOVED the bathroom with the local made lavender soap and the best towels.
I live around the corner from the Trouvaille House at La Soledad Lavender Farm. I have been a professional artist for many years, and started hosting my first guesthouse during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was such a positive and rewarding experience, that with a partner, I purchased and remodeled the Trouvaille House in 2021. I love meeting my guests and making sure they have the best experience and memories of their visit to Harpers Ferry!
A lovely, pre Civil War home, Trouvaille House is right on the Main Street, Washington Street, in historic Harpers Ferry. Just 3/4 of a mile from the convergence of the rivers in lower town and the NHP. Just across the street from the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. Easily walkable to just about anywhere you want to go. Free parking in front of the house.
Even though the house is very old (1830) and historic, it has had a fresh makeover. All the spaces are light and bright. The Parisian Apartment feels like a small apartment in Paris with your own mini fridge and Nespresso coffee in the room. Two separate entrances into the suite are a bonus. The screened porch and private backyard looking into the woods makes you think you are not even in the town!
