Welcome to The Modern Cactus! This fun, family-friendly, stylish retreat is a true desert oasis! Located only minutes away from Westgate Entertainment District, the Arizona Cardinals’ home stadium, Spring Training fields, world class golf courses and endless outdoor adventures, you are central to all the Valley’s most popular destinations. Please come enjoy our beautiful NEW furnishings, a heated pool, luxury spa and a cozy outdoor living/dining space - This is desert living as its finest!

The House Layout:
Bedroom 1: 1 King Size Bed, 1 Daybed & Smart TV (en-suite bathroom)
Bedroom 2: 1 Queen Size Bed + Smart TV
Bedroom 3: 1 Double Bed and 1 Twin

Pool & Spa:
Pool heat is included in your stay during the months of October, November, February, March and April. We keep the pool at a comfortable 82 degrees.
Due to the cold evenings in December and January, we DO NOT heat the pool in December and January. Most of our guests prefer the luxury bullfrog hot tub during these winter months.

For safety, all sliding glass doors automatically retract and have elevated safety latches. If you have children, please book with care as the property owners and co-hosts are not liable for pool or spa injuries.

Loved, loved this house. kitchen was stocked with everything you could need, the house was surprisingly bigger then it looked in the pictures. We loved the pool, hottub, and outside tv. Beds and blankets were perfect.The gift basket with little treats and a bottle of wine was a great surprise!

We had a wonderful stay at A Modern Cactus in Peoria, AZ over the Christmas holiday! Communication with Shawna and Karen was A. The place was impeccably clean, classy, and well-stocked with everything we needed. The outdoor space, complete with a pool and spa, was absolutely beautiful and perfect for relaxing. The beds were incredibly comfy, making for a restful and enjoyable stay. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful and stylish getaway!

The Perfect Choice

My wife and I have stayed in other VRBO properties and this was the most enjoyable of them all. Shawna the co-host and Karen the owner were very responsive and a pleasure to interact with. They genuinely want you to enjoy the property and willing to help you with any questions or needs. AMAZING!!!!

Had such an assume time staying here with my 4 Kids. First time to Arizona, and man it was hot! The pool and and outside patio is on point! Great memories definitely made there with my Ohana. Great Girls Trip

This was a perfect spot for a ladies getaway! The house was perfect and the host was amazing with communicating. I even had a special request as we were celebrating a couple of birthdays and they accommodated beautifully. It was a nice, quiet location and we were able to do multiple day trips to different areas. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back! Thank you!

Perfect for a getaway.

Let me start by saying that the communication with the co-host, Shawna, was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. Shawna was prompt, informative and accommodating. Checking in was seamless. Accommodating our request for a late checkout was just the cherry on top of the weekend. As for the residence, it was impeccable. Better than we expected. The house was extremely clean. It was in great shape and the outdoor area was incredible! This house was perfect for our family and we felt like we were vacationing at a resort. We would definitely stay here again!

Delightful stay with super thoughtful hosts!

The people who manage/own this home have their guests uppermost in their minds and were super thoughtful of their guests needs. We were welcomed with a snack basket of goodies, a bottle of wine and bottled water in the fridge. There was sun screen available with the pool towels. There were lots of pool floats which was great. Of upmost important to us was the cleanliness of the entire house and pool. The management's response to an item we needed was almost immediate. There was a booklet of nearby activities and restaurants that we took advantage of. I highly recommend this home.

What you see is everything you get and more

The modern cactus was an absolute delight from booking to check out. The house is as clean, beautiful, and comfortable as you see in the pictures. We stayed for three nights, and every day remarked to each other about how incredible this house is. A family of four, two teenagers, the house was absolutely perfect. Lots of space for people to be together, and have our own, space I have never seen a VRBO better equipped. Food storage, counter, space, even sunscreen! The hosts were absolutely delightful. Checking in to make sure that we were comfortable and happy more than once. Pool is in fabulous condition. Very clean, and absolutely beautiful. We use the outdoor living area morning and night. The bathrooms are big and beautiful. In absolutely perfect condition. The garage is even empty and accessible so you can pull your car in and get it out of the sun to keep it. Cool! It is little things like this that come up big at the modern cactus time after time. If you are looking for a place to stay in Peoria, you will thank yourself over and over for booking this house.

Hi! We are Karen and Nick. Karen is born and raised in Phoenix and Nick moved here from Chicago. We have two kids ages 4 and 8 and we have lots of recommendations (plus toys, books and life vests) for young children in our home. We love swimming, hiking and attending family friendly events and festivals. Shawna, our co-host, also offers a lot of concierge services to provide the best getaway! We would love to help you plan your AZ vacation!

This house is located in a family friendly neighborhood within walking distance of a local park. We like how quiet it is and we have amazing neighbors.

I grew up in this area and I love how many options there are to be active: Spring training, golf, hiking, water parks, splash pads, trampoline parks, festivals, ice skating, dining, shopping, etc.

My favorite part of this house is the option for indoor and outdoor living. In the winter you can still swim and enjoy the hot tub and cool sunny days. In the summer the shade of the large patio allows you to relax outside and cool off in the pool.
