The home is perfect for short-term monthly rental, professional, or corporate housing, or for use between closing and purchasing your new forever home.
The house was perfect to host about 9 out of town family members. Place was very clean and description of listing was a perfect match. The host was very responsive. I would recommend staying here again.
What a beautiful home and such a warm welcome by our gracious host upon our arrival: a handwritten note welcoming us and congratulating my daughter on her wedding, along with a basket filled with a variety of snacks and drinks! I couldnât have made a better selection on a home to host my family as they travelled to Virginia for my daughterâs wedding in the Farmville area. The home is nicely decorated and had everything needed to feel at home. It was an easy and beautiful drive to the venue, and gave us the perfect place to come âhomeâ to. There was plenty of space for us to visit, and we especially enjoyed sitting outside on the screened in deck. A very private setting, but easy access to everything you need, including a new, really nice neighborhood across the road for my sister and I to get in a 4 mile run! It was the perfect place to spend time with my family on such a special weekendâŠ.did not disappoint!!
I have stayed at this location before and enjoyed the property and location very much which was why I booked it for our national staff retreat. Several of our team members flew in to RIC airport and the property is an easy commute to and from the airport. Another staffer drove down from Maryland and it is easy to come within 3 miles of the location from the freeway. There are many restaurants and stores within 5 miles.
The property is immaculate and perfectly arranged for families or work teams. We connected our computer to the large screen TV in the family room for training. The large kitchen was comfortable for 5 people to work together on meal preparation and we enjoyed group meals together. When individual team members had meetings, the office was the perfect place to be out of the traffic area and privacy for leading meetings.
Every team member had their own separate bedroom with plenty of towels and very comfortable beds. After dinner we all got together on the screened in porch and several times staff played pool.
When we left, everyone wondered would we be back next year?
This home is beautiful, very spacious and immaculately clean. The beds were very comfortable and we especially enjoyed having the pool table in the basement for games and fun. There was a hand-written note welcoming us along with two bottles of wine. Very nice touch. It was a perfect place for our family to gather and enjoy time together with our elderly parents who live nearby.
The house is located on a busy street so I recommend that anyone staying at the house plan to turn around in the driveway so you can pull forward onto the road. There is some extra space in the driveway to turn around but it is rather tight, especially if there are multiple cars. Be VERY, VERY, VERY careful when you turn around not to run off onto the grass. You will be charged a hefty fee (we were charged $250 to re-fertilize the lawn). The owner sent me a picture of the damage that resulted in this fee and I wish I could post it here so you could see how minimal it was. We did walk on the grass to take some family photos. Perhaps my 80 year old mother and father with their walkers caused damage? I strongly recommend you stay off the grass altogether. The sprinklers come on every evening at about 6pm in both the front and back yard so the soil and grass is wet and very soft. Also, be careful not to hit any of the small lights along the driveway, especially the one behind the turn around area. We hit one and damaged it ( which I self-reported ).
So, I can certainly say this is a lovely home with lots of room and great place for a group to gather. But, be careful, the owner is very particular. You may find yourself paying extra fees for minor things.
We booked this beautiful home for New Years. Our group had reservations for the weekend nearby and did not want all the traffic of a hotel. Upon arrival the owner had decorations set up and everything laid out perfectly. The rooms were all designed nicely, and it was enough space to accommodate the 8 adults in our group comfortably. The home is very inviting and has everything you would need to have an enjoyable stay. However, I can not say the same for the owner. She does not make you feel welcome in the home at all. She has a book of rules that she leaves out on the counter for you to read and then she requires you to text her a quote she put inside to ensure you have read them. These are not quite the same as what she put on the listing. She constantly text âremindersâ about her rules throughout your stay. We had not arrived 5 minutes before the 1st text came through from her. Continually throughout our stay she made numerous notations to the cameras on the premises. We had a smoker in our group and to adhere to her no smoking rule he would go get into his personal car to smoke with the windows up and doors closed. Each time he did we got a text. In a course of 2-days we received a minimun 8-10 text messages from her to include very early on New Yearâs morning about keeping down noise after 11pm when we were not even in the home the night prior as we had reservations for the evening out but obviously, she was âwatchingâ her cameras and could hear us when we came in which was after 2am. Second day in and we were feeling unwelcome, harassed and violated. How often was she watching us? Where else was she watching? Everyone in the group started to become uncomfortable. We had the home booked for 4 days and 3 nights and only because we had plans for New Yearâs Day in the area did, we stay the 2nd night. We checked in late on Friday evening and were not due to check out until Monday morning. We had plans to cook and fellowship that Sunday prior to departure but we checked out early on Sunday instead. The home is immaculate and I can understand worrying about the care of it but if you are that concerned to the point you must violate and harass your guests then maybe she should not use the home as a rental property.
