Lovely top floor unit with great ocean view from both lanais. Well equipped with free WiFi and air conditioning.
OUR RESPONSE TIME is less than one hour on inquiries!!
King bed in master bedroom, Queen bed in the guest bedroom and the Loft bedroom has a queen bed.
Kona Makai condominiums feature concrete buildings, air-conditioning units in living room and bedrooms, pool, spa, oceanfront sunning deck, fitness room, tennis courts, covered and open parking, BBQ picnic area, and gated complex. Located approximately 1.5 miles from Kailua Pier. Walk, bike or jog along the oceanfront road of Alii Drive.
All reservations are required to digitally sign a rental agreement between the person booking and and property manager to be confirmed.
Guests now have the services of the best concierge on the island. Please check our "Activities" page on our website for more information.

Our family trip was perfect! The condo was set up nicely for a family of 6. If you forgot sunscreen or beach stuff they have you covered. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A wonderful week

Three of us stayed for 5 days and we really enjoyed ourselves. The location was really convenient and it was so close to the ocean! We ate quite a few meals on the lanai and enjoyed the quiet and the view!

It was unbelievably hot because no air or fans were on nor were there instructions of HOW to turn on the ac units but called the person on call (ALLIE) and she handled everything immediately with explanation,etc

Great Spot!

We truly enjoyed our time at this unit. Perfect size for 5 adults. Well stocked, clean, and easy access to Kona. We enjoyed the pool, outdoor cooking and dining area, and the recreation area as well. We will definitely return!

This condo is as advertised. It was clean, well stocked, in a nice location, the beds are comfy, and the development was quiet. This was a great condo for our family of five.

We stayed five nights. The grounds are beautiful and garden-like. The condo is well-equipped and comfortable. The kitchen has every tool and utensil you can imagine. The hosts have sunscreen available in the unit and beach gear. There were a few small hiccups with fan remotes while we were there. The property manager was quick to reply to a request for help and the handyman came out the next day. Communication was great!

A week at the beach!

Flew in from the PNW for a week. The Kona Makai was clean, well managed, condo was large, roomy, kitchen worked for making full dinners or what ever. Would do this again. Had a blast.

Beautiful setting, lovely condo

This is a great unit inside a lovely property. The condo itself was clean and well-appointed, the grounds are beautiful, the pool is warm and the ocean is very close! We had other family stay in a condo in the same building and we met in the evenings at the barbecues for dinner. The property manager was very easy to communicate with. We would happily stay here again!

Perfect 3 bedroom home away from home!

This centrally located condo in Kona, Big Island was absolutely perfect for my family and me. I have never felt so at home when I’ve been away from home. Some places are relatively clean and well-kept, but this place was practically spotless and very well-stocked with supplies and everything to keep you comfortable. The kids loved the big TV, and my husband and I loved the full kitchen that allowed us to cook and eat in as often as we wanted. The layout of the condo is very open and spacious, and it was great to have the option of using the air conditioners. The check in and check out processes were simple. We give this place 5 stars! We would love to book it on our next trip!

Zero complaints about this property. It was all we could ask for and more. Perfect location. Beautiful property. Gorgeous and peaceful grounds. Lovely view. Close to all the activities and fun. The house its self was lovely, easy to navigate kitchen, even had beach chairs and snorkels to borrow. It fit our family perfectly and everyone had their own space. My favorite part was the patio for the sunrise. The management was so great and willing to help with storing our luggage a little longer on check out due to an injury I had while in Hawaii. They were so helpful and that made everything even better. I highly recommend this place. You won’t regret it. We will be back!

Nice Place

Management was excellent to work with and responded quickly to any inquiries. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the room, which was well-equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed, though it would have been nice to have more spices available beyond just salt and pepper.The BBQ area was a highlight, offering a fantastic spot to cook steaks while enjoying the sunset. However, the amenities fell a bit short of expectations. The gym was in poor condition, with rusted equipment and no windows, and it didn’t open until 8 a.m., which was inconvenient. Additionally, the pool closing at 9 p.m. felt a bit early; a 10 p.m. closure would have been more typical and would have allowed us to relax longer after a long day of hiking and exploring. Unfortunately, we only managed about 10 minutes in the hot tub.Despite these minor issues, it was a great place to stay in an excellent location. Mahalo!

We so enjoyed our stay at Kona Makai. The grounds are beautifully kept, parking was great and easily found a spot every time we pulled in. There was a pool and hot tub, awesome area to grill with 4 built in grills with propane, ping pong table and small gym. Lovely spot by the grills to watch the sunset. You can also easily walk out on the lava rock beach. The unit was perfect for four of us! A wonderful surprise was that it was so stocked! Trash bags, toilet paper, paper towels and more! Full kitchen with everything you need. When we grilled, we even found a meat thermometer! There was lots of sunscreen and aloe there which was nice especially because you need the reef safe sunscreen. Several beach items when we were there, noodles, chairs, coolers, umbrella, beach towels, snorkels and sand pails. It is close enough to the strip in Kona to walk for shopping and dinner but far enough to not be in the hustle of it. Would have liked there to be tennis rackets since there is a court but not a big deal at all. There were pickleball paddles. I loved that it was a quiet community so I would suggest being mindful of that as you plan a trip with small children or if you are into lively night life. Quiet hours are 8p to 8a. A lot of rules at the pool about no floats or jumping, no kids until 13 in the hot tub. Overall a beautiful place to stay on the big island!

This is a nice condo in a great area. Parking is easy and plentiful. You need to be prepared to walk a bit of a distance from the parking lot and then up three flights of stairs, which was no problem for us. The kitchen and bathrooms have everything you need. The kitchen even has a rice cooker, which we put to good use. No need to buy sunscreen, there is PLENTY in the hall closet. They also have lawn chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear, coolers, and other things you may need to use. We liked having laundry in the unit. The beds were nice and comfy. It was nice having air conditioning. It was a very hot week in Kona and the AC struggled to cool it off inside, but it's much better than not having AC at all. The downstairs queen bedroom has the best AC that quickly cools the bedroom off. The loft never got cool because it relies on the one AC that cools the whole kitchen and living room too, so my youngest son slept on the couch, which he didn't mind. There's really not much the owner can do about the outside temp, though. Like I said, it was much better than staying somewhere without AC. Whoever uses the loft bedroom needs to be someone capable of climbing a small, spiral staircase. We had no trouble with it. Overall, it was a great stay and we were happy with this place.

Convenient location but area is quite busy during the day. Lots of stairs so, next time I will stay on a lower floor. Loft is nice for younger people but not so gor older - steep stairs. Nice views! We enjoyed are stay.

Wonderful condo!

We thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful condo and the complex grounds! The condo was clean, well stocked and had everything we needed to enjoy the Island (beach chairs, towels, cooler, Hawaii the Big Island Revealed Guidebook). lovely vacation

It was a very nice condo. You have to carry your luggage a distance and climb 2 flights of stairs with it but once there it was very comfortable, quiet away from street noise. Both bedrooms had a balcony and there was a loft which was fine for the 2 grandsons. It would not be appropriate for a small child or older person such as a grandparent

Great Place for a Week on the Big Island

For a group of six friends, this place was perfect for us to rest and relax as we explored the Big Island. Bedrooms were comfy with plenty of space and the kitchen was well stocked with supplies to cook meals and chill beverages. There was plenty of parking on the property and a balcony that was perfect for waking up with coffee and watching the sunset.
