The house was perfect. Welcoming, familiar family feeling mountain home surrounded by national park on one side and open meadows on the other. Judith the owner we very responsive and made the whole thing effortless. Will definitely request to book again if in Estes Park. Saw deer, rabbits, and elk on the regular. Great for night time stargazing. One night had terrific thunderstorms which were equally impressive against the backdrop of the mountains.
This home is stunning, and backs up almost to RMNP. We felt we were surrounded by beauty, the home and the park. We would highly recommend it, and hope to return soon!
Spent Christmas week with family in this wonderful older home, nestled up in the Rockies and only minutes to Estes Park. The house is full of character (creaky wooden floors and clubfoot bathtubs), with many whimsical touches. Would love to come back.
Great location to explore Estes Park and RMNP. Renovated while keeping all of the beautiful architecture and design of a historic home. Comfortable living space and bedrooms. Beautiful views from front patio. Great place for a vacation.
We have 4 children (ages 4, 6, 8 and 10) and for the 6 of us, this house was perfect. Judy was an awesome host. The home is a perfect location close to downtown, grocery store, Stanley Hotel, and trails. We would love to stay there again!
The number one draw for us was the location, steps away from the beautiful Gem Lake hike and gorgeous views of the mountains. The children enjoyed exploring the yard. The house was old and had a lived-in feel, with a lot of interesting antiques, which we enjoyed for its character. The owner was communicative and helpful. We had a great stay.
Awesome home - so inviting and so peaceful! Location was close to trails and convenient to Estes shops and yet away from other homes. Great view of Longâs Peak. So did not want to leave!
The house was ideal for a long relaxing vacation with family and friends visiting throughout. The location was very convenient to Estes Park and for hiking, horse back riding, fly fishing and, of course, Rocky Mountain National Park, even though it felt as if you were "far away from it all." We even had visits from deer, rabbits and elk! As an added bonus, the owner was very responsive and a delight to work with.
The pictures do not do this property justice! We loved the house and our time there. So relaxing and so beautiful. We canât wait to come back. One week is simply not enough time. Donât think. Stay here.
You will be greeted by an incredible and gracious host. You have beautiful views from every window. There are multiple gathering places, also including places for a bit more privacy. You're in a lovely setting both indoors and outdoors. The home is comfortable, spacious, well stocked, conveniently located, beautifully decorated. A phenomenal find and a beautiful place to stay for a vacation in a beautiful area. The host is so welcoming and her home is beyond compare. Don't miss an opportunity to stay here.
This property is so beautiful and perfect for family gathering. A special older home with many details that have been carefully preserved, updated, cared for but still gives a glimpse of how the cultured families lived during the heyday of the Stanley. So comfortable to stay here with some extra benefits such asâŠ. The homeâs local wildlifeâchipmunks, cottontails, and birds were a joy to watch and the dark nights brought out the stars in mass. I hadnât seen the Milky Way that bright in many years. Thank you for sharing this homeâŠ..
Beautiful spacious home with plenty of quiet areas to enjoy a good book when not on the trail!
6 adults enjoyed the beautiful historic property with plenty of room! Enjoyed hiking the national park then sitting down for meals and games in evening. Nice sky watching away from down town Estes Park! Wildlife right out the window and views of the mountains.
Everything about the house-size, location, amenities, was perfect.
We loved all the sitting spaces, especially the front porch and the views of Longs Peak. Nothing better then enjoying your morning coffee with the views of the mountains. The house is very large and comfortable--lots of space for 5 adults. Kitchen is well stocked, had all the things we needed. We cooked most nights on the gas grill outside--nice bonus. It has two fireplaces, which would be perfect on cold nights. Star gazing at night was spectacular.
Location is the best--we walked to Lumpy Ridge Trailhead and hiked so many trails there. The Gem Lake hike is fantastic.-don't miss it. We did many pre-dinner hikes since the trails were so close. Also, short drive to the trailhead for Bridal Veil Falls. The area is perfect. 5 minute drive to a grocery store and the Stanley.
Lumpy Ridge is in the National Park, however, if you want to pay and pass through an entrance, they are very close by-about 20 minutes, with the Estes Park traffic.
Judy is the best host. She can answer any question, and has the most wonderful home. We can't believe she shares so a beautiful place. She even brought us up a Keurig for morning coffees. You don't get anyone better then her.
My only regret is people will discover this gem and it will become hard to book. We had a beautiful time at the house and in the Rockies. Thank you Judy!
