The Dollhouse is a fully updated two story centrally located 1870s historic house with 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths. The house was completely restored during 2016-2020. The house has a front porch as well as screened rear porch. There are TVs in living room (55") and master bedroom. Popular local outdoor activities include fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, biking or simply relaxing. This is a wonderful property centrally located in St Michaels. Great restaurants and shops within blocks of the house!
Chesapeake charm with new kitchen appliances. The large yard and enclosed back porch were wonderful for our dog. Super location. Very clean and comfortable.
We highly enjoyed our stay. It was a great location and we got a lot of use out of the screened in porch. The coffee shop out back was a great visit in the morning.
It's a lovely historic home with those types of quirks: narrow and steep stairs, railing that is definitely not up to code, original windows, not well insulated so it's a good thing that the neighborhood is quiet, one nail sticking out of the original floors in the DR near thr kitchen door. It was kept clean other than some cobwebs in corners. It is comphy but the furniture is all antiques to fit the vibe so some of it is fragile (curio tqble by front door had a busted leg when we arrived for example). However, the kitchen, full bath, washer/dryer, and powder room were qll clean and in good working condition. AC works well. Within easy walking distance to the main street of town. Backs up to a cute cafe, the local library, and the local police office. And the beds were comphy so a perfect place for a couple or small group yo enjoy St Michael's from.
Thomas, our host, was incredibly prompt and responsive, which we really appreciated for our last-minute getaway. The location was perfect, everything was clean and comfortable, and check-in was a breeze. We absolutely love St. Michaels and enjoy it more with every visit. Looking forward to returning soon!
This was a comfortable home, and a nice location. We were staying mostly for business, so didnât do much in town, but the main restaurant and shopping areas are two short blocks away. We did use the nearby nature trail to walk our dogs. The only concerns others might have with the house, and the reason for four stars instead of five, were: minimal kitchen equipment (few pots/pans etc.), steep narrow stairs to the second floor, and low water pressure in the shower. That said, none of these things would prevent us from staying here again, and frankly we might try to next year.
I recently stayed here for a wedding and loved it. I am small and had a bed to myself. I was sharing the house with another couple and they are taller ⊠the ceilings are low, the bathrooms small, and the bedrooms pretty cozy for two ⊠it worked for us but beware that it really is small in every way. That said, it is an ideal location, clean, and has all the basics. I loved the screened in porch and the sweet yard. I would definitely go back.
This is a great property in an ideal location. We loved the porch and the fancy w/d unit. However, the mattresses are worn and the shower water pressure is weak. Explanation of pet protocol in the ad would have been helpful.
Had a great, relaxing stay at this property with a friend who came to MD for a short visit. The location is close to all of St Michaels restaurants & shops, and not far from the waterfront or the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. The property was very quaint and clean. Would recommend for anyone looking for a quiet getaway.
They property, location and amenities were great. The shower water pressure was lacking which made it hard to clean the soap and shampoo off. I did not receive the check in email but the host was very responsive and it did not impact is getting in. I would recomend adding in complimentary soap, shampoo and laundry soap.
This was our 2nd time staying at this property! It is a perfect location and house for a girls weekend with my mother and daughter! Great communication with the owner! We will definitely rent again!
Great location, close to down town St. Michaels! Very cute historic house.
Pool is a town/community pool .7 miles away.
As descirbed in other reviewes:
Pillows are flat/old, suggest to bring your own pillows. The AC on the ground floor is great, but limited on the second floor.
Lovely little house - cant beat the location - spotless - loved the powder room under the stairs! One suggestion - can maybe get a better mattress for the main bedroom! đ
Very enjoyable stay. Nicely updated kitchen with new washer and dryer. Wifi excellent. Built in 1900 and furnished with antique pieces. Nice screened porch is a good place to leave your bikes. Close to Maritime Museum and restaurants.
I brought my parents who are seniors and we found exactly what others have said. The location is excellent to walk to the main street for shopping and restaurants. The home is comfortable and nicely restored and decorated. The steps upstairs are pretty narrow because of the age of the house but we had no issues getting our bags upstairs. Bring your own pillow(s)! The ones provided are flat and the beds are noisy, but again, its due to age. They're antiques and it just adds to the charm. I would definitely stay here again and in fact, would love to bring my husband next time for a long weekend.
Everything was as expected and nice. The beds were noisy though. Just rolling over created a lot of noise. I think that could be solved with a better frame and a rug under the frame. Everything else was fine.
Beautiful small fully updated historic house located on quiet street but a short walk to almost everything in Town. House features a front porch as well as a rear screened porch overlooking a large yard.
