Looking for an immaculate canalfront home to please an active family? Then Just Askin is your answer. Located in Askin's Creek on Shallow Point Drive, this cozy cottage boasts a private dock, nearby beach access, windsurfing sites, and sound views from every room. Also included is a double kayak with paddles (please bring your own life jackets). Step into the ground floor entry and head up the curving staircase to the second level, which offers the main king bedroom, two additional bedrooms (queen and capt’s) with adjoining bath, and yards of covered decks. On the third level, you'll find the main king bedroom and a large living area with a gas fireplace, TV, and comfortable furnishings. Go with the flow into the dining area with an attached covered porch and round the corner into the convenient galley kitchen, which is fully equipped for whipping up a nautical fare. Come sunset, you'll want to relax in the private hot tub or convene for cocktails on one of the home's many decks. Whatever you desire on your vacation, ask for Just Askin and your needs will be met.

Things to know:
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check-in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement.
*The fireplace is available October through April
Please note: Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open Mid-May to Mid-October, depending on the weather.

Amazing!

The home was very clean. It is an awesome place to stay. A little bit of a walk to the beach and there’s new homes blocking most of the sunset but overall it’s an A+

The location close to shopping and the beach access ramp was great. The house was ok. The kitchen accessories were a bit dated and the carpet could use a good scrubbing. The waterfront is a bit misleading as the waterfront is the creek and not actually the sound.

Perfect house for perfect vacation!

The location is great, the house is spacious and clean. The outdoor is well equipped with table and chair and the view is amazing! Thank you for everything!

Great house that needs attention

The house itself was great but it does need some attention. The beds were clean but the queen bathroom on 2nd has a moldy smell and the vents throughout (and probably the air ducts) need a thorough cleaning or to be replaced. The kitchen had lots of utensils and cookware but they could use an upgrade along with the appliances. There are incredible views in the evenings from every room. Easy and quick access to the beach and/or sound. Small convenience store at the end of the road and Food Lion is just 5 mins away. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but we do expect a tad more attention to detail for the price you pay.

Not a comfortable stay

The home is in need of a lot of repairs. Maintenance has been overlooked and it shows. Most of the furnishings and finishes look like they came from Dollar General. Towels and washclothes were thin and cheap and you only get 1 ( for an entire week stay) . If you are looking for a comfortable stay- this is not the place .

Amazing

Everything was perfect. The creek is a little smelly and the door code was tricky but was a great house. Loved every minute of the views!

Relaxing with kids

Just spent a week with another family, total of three adults and four kids, ranging from ages 5 to 13. There was plenty of space for everyone to play or relax. It was an easy walk to the beach and the local shopping center was just a quick drive away for groceries, recycling, and buying some fresh local seafood! The kids enjoyed playing on the dock and fishing in the inlet, as well as relaxing in the hot tub. Beautiful view of the sound and sunsets every night.

Slice of Paradise

The location and peacefulness of this home were amazing. You are walking/biking distance from the gorgeous beach; and backing up to a lovely creek, surrounded by maritime forest. The stars were incredible at night, and the views were peaceful during the day. Highly recommend using the provided kayak for a trip down the creek to a private white sand sound beach - lots of fun sea life, shallow, warm water, and amazing views. House itself was very comfortable and well laid out. Perfect for a family vacation or larger group. Can’t recommend this place enough - we will be back.

Beautiful home at a great price

We have a big family with kids from elementary through adult. There was something here for everyone. It was so nice to walk straight out the back door onto the dock where all kinds of fun awaited us—from crabbing to kayaking and seeing deer, frogs and the biggest snapping turtle we have ever seen! It’s near the beach and bay as well as all the local attractions! Got everything we were askin’ for.

Oh so satisfied

This house is in a great location and is so comfortable. We did not have to unpack any if the “just in case” items we usually bring down here. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was stocked. Towels were great as well. The only issue we had was the lower level air conditioner did not cool the area. We had a great time.

lovely access to the sound

Amazing sunsets over the sound. we loved Askins creek access to the sound. It was low at times but still got us there. House was in a terrific location. Easy walk to the beach, grocery and restaurants. Lovely to ride a bike. We will defnitey be back!

Sneaky business practices

We rented from VRBO because it was supposed to by owner at least that's what we thought all this time it standed for . But come to find out it's a front behind Hatteras realty in Hatteras North Carolina . Unfortunately we didn't get to stay because of hurricane Dorian . Our trip was cancelled before our stay even happened . And we lost all our money due to this situation. We could understand if we were there already and had to evacuate . But we never got to make it. I asked the Hatteras realty people if we could even switch the week but it was a no . You didn't get insurance you lost out . It's funny I looked on Hatteras realty direct website this house wasn't even available to rent but magically there in charge of it . Well will surely let everyone know we travel with not to trust a VRBO or rent from Hatteras realty . Thanks for my time

Nice house & good location (unless you brought a boat)

Our group was very happy with the house. It was clean and well designed with comfortable furnishings. The kitchen was well stocked. We did have an issue with the dishwasher but the rental company sent someone over that day and it was fixed. The location was very convenient for a short drive to beach and sound access. The hot tub and outdoor showers were great. We brought our fishing boat and jet ski thinking the pier meant we would be able to dock right at the house. This was not the case. We should have done some more research but it would have been nice if that was discussed in the description of the house. Overall, we had a great time and were very please with Askin' For It.
