This cozy cabin is located in Tahoe Donner and makes for a perfect basecamp for exploring this beautiful area! You'll be a short drive to Tahoe Donner's HOA amenities (pools, hot tubs, golf, tennis, over 60 miles of hiking/mountain biking trails, X-Country ski trails and more!), Donner Lake, Downtown Truckee, and your options for hitting the slopes are primo (Sugar Bowl, Palisades/Alpine, Northstar, Tahoe Donner - take your pick!).
Perfect location for our family's Truckee summer trip - with lots of fun activities nearby. The house was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the kitchen was well-equipped. We would be happy to stay here again!
We really enjoyed our time at this cabin! Itâs so clean inside and the kitchen is well stocked. Lots of games for the kids too! Would definitely stay here again.
Very nice house. Very convenient (very short drive) for Tahoe-Donner XC and downhill and Glacier Way trailhead (snowshoeing, easy ski touring). Host very helpful and communicative. Great selection of board games
Great experience with this cabin. Clear, on-time communication from the hosts and cabin was exactly as expected. Comfortable beds. Heating worked well for our unexpected cold weather during the summer!
We loved staying at Britta & Blake's place. It was perfect for a quick trip to Truckee/Tahoe - cozy, homey, and really well kept for a comfortable stay! We really appreciated how it was so clean and exactly what we expected. We would stay again if back in the area!
This house is located in the beautiful Tahoe Donner neighborhood. The area allows you to enjoy the Sierra without the crowds of the South Shore of Lake Tahoe. Great area to visit.
Super great rental. Owners were informative, answered initial questions, and communicated before arrival. They checked in and were there if needed. Thank you for allowing my family to rent your beautiful, fully stocked, comfortable and clean cabin!
We couldnât have asked for better hosts or accommodations! We came for a family ski trip and this place was instantly inviting and cozy. The house is just as advertised, and hosts Britta & Blake are wonderfully responsive. Added bonus: we even experienced a Truckee area-wide power outage while we were there due to severe weather, and Britta & Blake helped us feel totally at ease. Not only is the house well-equipped to handle an outage (the fireplace and oven are both gas-powered, and there is an emergency kit with flashlights, lighters, batteries, etc, under the sink), but Britta & Blake also stayed in contact with us to give updates on power restoration and answer our questions (on a holiday, no less!). 10/10 experience - would definitely go back and recommend!
I stayed in the cabin for a total of 2 nights with a group of 5 over 4th of July weekend, and we enjoyed our stay a lot.
The cabin is very clean. It has a bunk bed, a king sized bed and a queen sized bed, and 2 bathrooms, so it was very spacious for a group of 5. My only complaint was that the beds were pretty firm. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we used the grill every night. The patio was very beautiful, and the sound bar with TV was a nice addition.
Location wise, it was only a 10 minute drive to downtown Truckee, and 30 to 40 minute drive to Lake Tahoe. It also has markets nearby, which was super convenient.
The hosts were very communicative and helpful. Britta texted me the day of check in to make sure I have her number just in case. We had a little issue with the Nest thermostat, which Britta helped us resolve immediately. I would definitely stay here again for my next Tahoe trip!
Just returned from a restful weekend at Britta and Blake's cozy and comfortable home. Everything was clean and as described on their listing.
Bedrooms were clean, thoughtfully equipped with humidifiers to counteract the dry mountain air, mattresses very comfortable and bathrooms supplied with full sized toiletries. Towels were plush and clean. Despite being located on a busy street, rarely did we notice any outside noise while inside the house.
The kitchen was equipped with the essentials (spices, salt/pepper, oil, dish soap, pans/pots, cooking utentils), new large appliances, and some bonus small appliances (loved the panini press!).
The living room was comfortable for lounging in front of the gas fireplace and watching TV, equipped with access to many apps for viewing shows. The kids enjoyed the many games available at the house as well.
Outside, there was plenty of space for snow play and sledding (including sleds under the deck). The driveway is slanted downward from the main road, which made it a bit challenging to get out of without chains on our minivan, even with minimal snow on the ground. Thankfully, because of being on a main road, the snow plows come by frequently and the roads are usually clear once you get out of the driveway.
Lastly, Britta and Blake were incredibly responsive and welcoming! We look forward to our next stay at their wonderful house!
We had a great time! This cabin was well equipped with everything we needed, the beds were comfortable, and our kids loved the board games! Britta is so welcoming and nice! She was easy to get in contact with, and went above and beyond to be helpful! We would definitely stay here again! Thanks!
Great cabin. Location is very convenient to Truckee and nearby ski areas. The kitchen may be the best weâve had at a rental - well equipped and excellent appliances. Wish we lived closer so we could come back more often.
We loved this place for our recent mid-week ski trip. Comfortable house with cozy bedrooms and plenty of space for the kids to play and explore. The kitchen was also well equipped for meals for our group. The host, Britta, was friendly and responsive. We would definitely book again.
I rented this house with a friend and our kids, and it was absolutely perfect for our ski trip. It was clean when we arrived, with a great layout (a great room with couch and TV, contiguous with the kitchen and dining area, so we could all be together, then bedrooms/bathrooms down a hall). The smart TV was a great feature, as we could access our Disney+ and Netflix accounts, and the Bluetooth soundbar was fun for dance parties. The beds were huge and comfortable, with plenty of bedding to stay cozy. The yard was fantastic for snow play, and they provided saucers and shovels. Itâs an easy drive up Northwoods to the ski area or down to head toward the lake. Britta was SO friendly and conscientious, checking on us when the weather shut down 80 and overall just bring helpful during our stay. We were very happy with this house and hope to visit again.
This cabin was perfect for our family of 4. It is very comfortable and all of the appliances and electronics are newer and work well. The Weber gas grill on the back deck is large and awesome for barbecuing. Backyard has plenty of space for snow play. Best of all, the hosts are extremely nice and readily available for anything we needed during our stay. Thanks Britta & Blake!!
We love everything about this cabin! It was perfect for our family of 5 (my husband, me and our 3 children ages 7, 5, 5). We went to Tahoe Donner as first time skiers (my husband and children) and the cabin is less than 3 miles from the ski resort. The cabin is well stocked with everything we needed (kitchen appliances, coffee maker, panini grill, salt/pepper, oil, etc.) for all of our meals. The kids loved the games, the bunk beds, TV. It is spacious (we didn't even use one of the bedrooms), clean, with ample space to hang our snow gear at the entrance of the cabin, bathrooms have shampoo/conditioner/body wash, soft towels and the bedrooms have warm comforters and soft sheets.
As one reviewer mentioned, the driveway is steep and slopes down toward the house so may be a challenge without AWD and/or snow tires.
Britta and Blake are quick to respond, went above and beyond to be helpful, and are such gracious hosts. We cannot wait to return to their cabin!
Blake and I (Britta) have loved the Tahoe area for years. Every season holds a special place in our hearts and gives us different excuses to get outside to PLAY (hike, ski, swim, etc) and reboot. We also love to share this amazing place (both the area, as well as our cabin) with others, so we'd be honored to host you and yours!
After your adventures, come home to an open layout that's perfect for gathering with your crew. The living room is equipped with a gas fireplace and hidden TV (check out the pictures), not to mention a ton of games to keep you busy on a snow day. The kitchen is well stocked and ready for your culinary adventures. The bedrooms are all equipped with casper mattresses and great linens to ensure that you fuel all the fun with good rest. The deck is surrounded by our beautiful forest and is equipped with outdoor seating perfect for enjoying the fresh Tahoe air - and there's a Weber grill for BBQ fun!
Wifi is fast and free. There's also a desk and office chair in one of the bedrooms in case you need to get a little work done between your adventures.
There is a washer and dryer available.
Our driveway can park up to 3 cars easily. A 4WD/AWD vehicle is recommended in the winter months. If you have 2WD, chains are a must.
Should you need anything during your stay, we have a wonderful property manager who lives in the neighborhood and is always happy to help.
WEATHER-RELATED CANCELLATIONS: Given weather is out of everyone's control, we will look to the cancellation policy if anyone wants to cancel their trip due to weather (in other words, if a big snow storm is predicted for your stay, we won't automatically refund your trip - we'll look to the cancellation policy for guidance).
SNOW PLOWING: We have once-per day driveway snowplowing with the local company in Tahoe Donner (Elements). Per Elements, driveways will be cleared on days when the average snowfall accumulation throughout Tahoe Donner on asphalt surfaces reaches 4 inches by 7:00 AM (Required Snow Depth) and the roads are passable to their equipment and service vehicles. If cars are in the driveway when they come, they will plow as much as they can while maintaining safe distance (try to park all to one side or as far down as possible). Sometimes they come by again to clear out snow once cars are gone. You may still need to shovel near the door, around cars, and where the driveway connects to the main road (city plows come by and leave a line of snow often referred to as a "berm").
BEAR AWARENESS: Tahoe Donner and the surrounding Truckee/Tahoe area have resident black bear populations. There have been numerous reports of bears opening car doors to go after food. Please make sure you lock your vehicle doors and roll up windows, remove all food and smelly garbage from vehicles and outside areas, and secure all garbage and recycling in the bear bin.
TAXES: Like many communities, Nevada County assesses a 12% Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) on short-term rentals. The Town of Truckee also assesses an additional 1.25% as the Truckee Tourism Business Improvement District (TTBID) Assessment. These will be charged when you book. Truckee TOT: 029600
