My 12yo child and I stayed 3 nights at this lower unit thatâs one of the rentals in this house.
A few problems we noticed: the unit is dark. The only bright space is the bedroom facing the street but itâs set up with a small /twin mattress in a queen sized frame, both in very worn out shape. This would be the quieter bedroom of the two since its ceiling is mostly along the roof line so nobody could wake you from upstairs. The rest of the unit is about 7 feet under the ground level (house sits on hillside).
The other bedroom has a queen sized bed so we stayed there. However itâs where you could hear every move from the upper unit - the ceiling has minimal sound proofing.
Shower faucet control has H/C backwards and the water temp control only works up to 50% of the way then it is dead stuck, so the water is between a little too hot and boiling hot. Keeps the shower time short unless you want your skin to come off
Kitchen sink faucet is detached from the counter so you have to be careful using it so you wonât end up taking a shower in the kitchen instead.
The toilet seat is wobbly so maybe they just need to to tighten up a nut?
Overall the unit was remodeled with âmodernâ in mind with black doors and trims, for example, but most decor and furnishings look like they were from yard sales and goodwill so thatâs pretty confusing. I think they should consider switching the beds and make the brighter room the adult bedroom and the one underground secondary.
