Overall, we found this rental to be great for the price. The appliances in the kitchen have been updated since the listing photos and all worked well, though the microwave isnât a full size. There werenât many dishes in the kitchen (only 2 bowls, 4 dinner plates) but we managed just fine. The HVAC unit works very well, but it is loud when it runs. Bathroom is small, but water pressure in the shower was great. We stayed with our 2 small children and found that our queen-size air mattress fit well in the living room and that is where they slept. The couch is a sleeper sofa, but we didnât try it. It is definitely not the most comfortable couch to sit on. The unit is a short bike ride to the beach or to Night Heron park. Itâs a bummer that it doesnât have pool access, but its proximity to other things on the island is great. We loved watching the alligators in the pond from the screened in porch.
Pros: easy access to main road, second floor unit, wonderful screened-in porch, roomy living area and bedroom. Cons: access to beach, noisy A/C and fridge, "tired" stove and microwave, cramped bathroom.
This condo looks like it was built in the late 1970's and has not been updated one bit. The furniture was ok but the condo interior is in poor shape. Kitchen and bath needs to be torn out and redone. Appliances are old, gross and loud. Carpet is disgusting. Place hasn't been painted in years and cracks in walls. No way is this condo worth the money that I paid. Vacassa is good and prompt. Cleaning crew did what they could but this place is in need of much repair. Sorry for the bad review but I won't be returning to this condo.
Perfect for my husband and I. Close to the beach, nice view of the lagoon, convenient location to the grocery store and great biking trails. Would definitely revisit!
This place was the least attractive place weâve ever stayed in at Kiawah. Been here maybe 30 times in 22 years. The appliances were from the 1980âs. The stove had no level burners, fridge was old and bathroom was dirty looking because of the age. Carpet is filthy! Some tile would be very nice. The price was ridiculously high for this 80âs unit!!
Pull out sofa had no linens. Was going to sleep on it since hubs was coughing. Mustâve been the carpet throughout the unit.
You get a bar of 1.5â soap. Dropped in tub and it went down open drain. Do better Vacasa. Our 2nd time at Kiawah with Vacasa. Never again!!
We found the property to be extremely dated for the price point. The basics were missed-such asâŠ..scissors to cut tags off new items, Individual packets of salt, pepper, condiments.
This was a quiet villa. The bed and living room furniture was comfortable. This is not fault of the owner but even putting in the correct address, GPS has a hard time guiding you to this condo unit. The bathroom door and some of the walkways through the little condo are narrow so if one has mobility issues, this is not the best choice. I had no issues with this just want people to have an accurate review. The condo had all the necessary things like dish soap pods, laundry pods, dish soap and hand soap and enough towels to last me all week. Since I did not rent from an owner I was not sure at first what amenities were available to me at the resort. It was a nice get-a-way.
Comfortable unit, good sized living room with enough seating. Comfortable bed. Unit smelled like bacon upon arrival. Did not cook to know state of pots/pans etc. good view of pond.
This was a great little house for the money. Itâs not fancy but itâs in the middle of everything and the price is really good. We will definitely be checking this place out to see if itâs available next time we come.
We had a wonderful vacation and are so appreciative of Vacasa!! Everything was perfect and we appreciate all the excellent correspondence before, during and now after our vacation from staff members for Vacasa. We donât plan on every booking with another agent! Thanks you
The property has a nice lagoon view. It is in need of updates and the carpets are stained and dirty. I was surprised that their was only 2 wash cloths, 2 rolls of toilet paper, etc. It is as if they felt the bare minimum is adequate. Kiawah rates a bit more effort I believe.
Les points faibles : Communication et exactitude de lâannonce
A waste of money!
Tiny space straight out of the 80âs! Back sliding patio door would not lock, completely outdated furniture/decor. Had to put bath towels on the upholstered kitchen chairs because they were filthy!!! Only one TV set in living room (none in BR) TV apparently only available with SD (standard definition). No WiFi available so no Internet!!! đł. No hair dryer??!!! đł could barely turn around in the bathroom and we are not big people. We left after one night and booked a Marriott hotel room so it was an expensive lesson learned. Iâd be looking for a refund but can only imagine what that outcome would be!
Word to the wise, caveat emptor! Save your money and find something else worthwhile in the area.
Enjoyed our stay at Turtle Pointe in this condo with a great location to the beach and a great screened porch view...yet condo is very dated. Seemed right out of the 1980's.
I thought the entire rental was being handled by VRBO yet somewhere along the way, Vacasa got in the middle of things......Vacasa was terrible with providing information for Check In...
I never received my the email with the Check In process or Gate Pass. Finally on the the night before and the day of arrival, I sent emails to the owner... never heard anything back, and I had neither Pass Code for the Key (or where to find the key) or a Gate Pass to access Kiawaha Island. Then spent hours on hold with Vacasa to attempt to get the information I needed . Oh they took our money without a problem,.... but trying to get some information from them was ridiculous!
A real mess.....
