Great House!

We loved staying at Shades of Summer for our fall break trip with our friends. The location was fantastic and it came with everything you could need for a beach trip. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location and setup for multiple families!

This house was perfect for our large group. The bunk room with its own sitting area was so nice for the kids. All beds were comfortable, and the location can’t be beat! The house could use a good deep cleaning, and some of the rugs were stained, but we would definitely stay here again!

Perfect house for a group of friends...

We were four couples on our annual trek to Grayton Beach and this place could not have fit us better, with room to spare - we could have fit another couple abs 8 kids! Just steps from the Red Bar and the beach. We’ll be back.

Shade of Summer is a delight!

This home is spectacular. It exceeding our expectations. The location was perfect. The home comes equipped with duel refrigerators, dishwashers, and washer/dryers! We wanted for nothing and can’t wait to return.

Great location

The house has an amazing location and a ton of space. We loved how each bedroom has its own bathroom. The house seemed to be missing the bare necessities that beach properties normally have (paper towel, extra toilet paper, salt, pepper, olive oil, etc...). So be sure to bring those necessities or plan to purchase everything.

Thanksgiving weekend

Amazing location. Very responsive staff. Beds very comfortable. Kitchen well appointed for a big dinners and lots of cooking including thanksgiving dinner which we had at the property with large family gathering. Could have used beach towels and chairs, more higher end cleaning products for hygiene, laundry, dishwasher, etc.

Shades was perfect for our extended family of 21 family members, ages 13-77. Great place.

The perfect place for a big family reunion!

Had a family reunion with 15 adults. We loved the huge kitchen and big bedrooms each with their own bathroom! Having a private swimming pool certainly provided extra entertainment especially when we had room for our cornhole boards. The walk to the beach was easy even for the oldest in our group which were 82 and 81! Being able to walk to shops and restaurants and the younger adults having a place to gather worked out perfectly! Loved the amenities like the golf cart, bicycles, and little goodies left for us to enjoy. Thanks for a great time and we look forward to returning next year!

Perfect layout for multi family vacation

We all felt that there was nice space for community and for privacy. Each bedroom was great and had private bath. Kids room was so nice and fun. Kitchen was awesome and really worked well for large group cooling.

Very well maintained and nice furnishings. Topically clean, but could use a deeper clean. Pool extremely nice, but would have helped to have had leaves blown away when pool was cleaned, so they would be tracked back into the pool. Overall, very nice experience.

Great Family House

The kids' bunk room was great for them. 4 single bunks and 4 double bunks. The pool and porches were wonderful for gathering. Kitchen well stocked. Convenient to the beach and Red Bar. Rental agency was prompt and accommodating.

Our group had 18., 8 of which were children under age 8. The fenced in pool was a real security concern that was great! Each bedroom had its own walkout deck which was a pleasant retreat! The neighborhood had a homey feeling unlike the hotel type zone! Great space and great amenities!!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a fantastic house for our group of 5 families for our annual beach vacation. We've come to Grayton for four years now, and this was by far the best place we've stayed. There was ample room, including a place for the kids to hang out, and it was only a block to the beach. When there was a slight problem with the refrigerator, Cole responded right away, and sent a repairman out on a Sunday night to take care of it. We couldn't imagine a better place to stay and plan to return!

Convenient to good restaurants and happy hours that are also kid-friendly. Loved being just steps away from the beach and the lake. The pool and the bunk room were big hits with the kids. Each family having their own bedroom and bathroom was a real plus. I would definitely recommend this house for families with children. Also loved being in the less-crowded, Grayton Beach area. We plan to come back again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house is perfect for our family and have rented it for several years. There have been some upgrades over the last couple of years that make it even better. It does need some upgrading on the furniture - same sofa for last 8 years (don't know how long it was there before we rented) and very worn and uncomfortable. This house is handled better under Grayton Coast Rental than it was with Rivard. Concerns are handled promptly and efficiently. Love Grayton Beach and our "home away from home"!

This house has everything you need for the perfect beach vacation. The owners of Shades of Summer did an amazing job of making the house cozy and comfortable yet spacious at the same time. Great simple design with out all the useless "fluff"! We absolutely loved everything about this home.... The proximity to the beach, amazing decks and incredible kitchen/dining area.... We will be back!!!

Family Vacation 22

Everyone enjoyed the property, the closeness of beach, the pool and the small neighborhood feeling.and the golf cart was a nice extra. I would suggest you add a system ( sheets of clear plexiglass under the the 2nd and third levels) to allow the water to run off the side of house versus down on top of everyone. We had a few storms and couldn’t be on the decks or swings and had to remain inside plus beach towels got soaked and we had to constantly dry the furniture. Overall very satisfied. We will return to the are for sure but probably need a bigger house. Thank you.

The house delivers!!!

The house and all of its features was wonderful. Just as advertised. And the Santa Rosa Beach destination was charming and fun. Two minor items of constructive criticism... I think, for the price, they could provide coffee filters and enough trash can liners so guests didn't need to buy or bring their own. And... I felt like our host was a corporation. (Well, it was.) I never felt like I was connected to a person who had a personal interest in my happiness. But my family had a GREAT time!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall great property and house, perfect for our 3 families that were there, had lots of room for us and all our kids and stuff. The two fridges and ice machine were great. The non-HD cable was disappointing, especially on opening college football weekend...Big houseful of college football fans! A few other minor issues with kitchen utensils/equipment and the floor being really slick, but again, overall the place was great and the location was fantastic!

Not beach front but the beach was easily accessible. Kitchen was well equipped, but the oven did not work when we arrived (we had been alerted to the problem prior to arrival by 360 Blue). Someone came to repair on Day 3 of our week. Fuses tripped multiple times in downstairs areas and would not reset, but again maintenance came next day. These were inconveniences, but not trip spoilers. 360 Blue was excellent in responding and communicating. The biggest complaint was the condition of the outside gas grill. It appeared to be relatively new, however, it had not been cleaned for some time. Underneath were 2 pans full of putrid grease and we had a terrible time trying to clean and dispose of the grease with limited cleaning resources. We needed the grill to prepare dinner that night due to oven being out of service, otherwise I would have called and asked them to come clean it. Shower curtain liners need a good wash. Pool was lovely and clean. Overall, I can only rate 4 stars, not 5. Thanks

Love the improvements!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have rented this house for several years and love the location and the room! We also loved the renovations that have been done. It was not as clean as I would have liked (sand in the bathrooms, lots of debris in the corners and under the beds). The lower porches (access to the house) was covered in sand so it is very difficult not to track it inside. We had to sweep the porches before we could unload the cars. I understand the fast turnaround that happens so it is hard to do everything. The response to any issues is immediate and great! I would like to see the upholstered furniture replaced. It has been there for a very long time and is very worn and uncomfortable. Another suggestion would be more towels. We had 13 in the house (it advertises for 22+) and we had to do towels twice every day. There was not enough for two per person. I don't want to be too critical, because we love this house and have already rented it for next year. Grayton Coast Rentals does a great job.
