Maison de luxe au lac Michigan

Les vues spectaculaires sur le lac Michigan, les couchers de soleil et la cheminée, tous à proximité des villes balnéaires de Douglas et Saugatuck, font de cette maison le lieu de vacances idéal pour des vacances en famille avec les grands-parents. Fumer, les animaux et les invités ne sont pas autorisés. Les draps et les serviettes sont fournis. En raison du niveau d'eau historiquement élevé du lac Michigan, l'accès à notre plage ne peut pas être garanti en 2020, mais nous sommes heureux de vous fournir deux laissez-passer pour la belle plage primée et à proximité d'Oval Beach qui ravit toujours les visiteurs.

Il y a 6 chambres et 3. 5 salles de bain (une salle de bain complète par niveau), et notre maison peut accueillir 12 personnes. Nous avons une deuxième salle familiale et une aire de jeux pour les enfants situés à notre niveau inférieur.

Il y a le chauffage central et la climatisation dans toute la maison.

Cette maison ultra propre achevée en 2005 possède une grande terrasse donnant sur le lac Michigan où vous pourrez dîner en plein air avec le grand barbecue à gaz, profiter d'un coucher de soleil sur le lac Michigan ou simplement regarder votre famille jouer au badminton sur la pelouse.

Premier étage: L'étendue du lac Michigan est votre toile de fond lorsque vous entrez dans cette maison et admirez le mur de fenêtres qui séparent la terrasse extérieure et la vue sur le lac Michigan de la grande salle et de la cuisine attenante. Des poutres en bois de noyer sur les deux étages de la cathédrale ornent la grande salle qui abrite une cheminée en bois confortable, une télévision à écran plasma de 42 pouces, un câble et un service vidéo à la demande et un système stéréo intérieur / extérieur avec lecteur CD multi-disques. La cuisine entièrement équipée (lave-vaisselle, cuisinière et four à gaz, micro-ondes, élimination des déchets, réfrigérateur / congélateur à double porte, refroidisseur à vin) dispose d'une table à manger familiale en plus des sièges de l'îlot de cuisine avec des vues spectaculaires tout autour. Une laveuse et une sécheuse pleine grandeur sont situées dans la buanderie. Il y a une salle d'eau et un bureau privé avec imprimante laser. La suite parentale au premier étage dispose d'un lit king-size, d'un système stéréo intérieur / extérieur, d'un ventilateur de plafond télécommandé et de lumières et de portes-fenêtres donnant sur la terrasse. La salle de bains principale attenante privée comprend une grande douche, des lavabos séparés et une baignoire à remous.

Deuxième étage: il y a quatre chambres et une très grande salle de bain avec douche / WC séparés et double lavabo. Deux chambres ont une vue phénoménale sur le lac Michigan avec des portes vitrées / françaises menant à un balcon extérieur partagé. Ces chambres sont meublées avec des lits king size. La troisième chambre très spacieuse est meublée d'un lit king-size avec un pack-n-play et une bassinette (la pièce la plus calme de la maison). La quatrième chambre est meublée d'un lit gigogne contenant deux matelas simples. Toutes les chambres à l'étage ont des ventilateurs / lumières de plafond télécommandés et des stores occultants.

Niveau inférieur: Il y a une grande salle familiale (foyer au gaz prévu pour 2020) et tv, une chambre avec un lit queen et une salle de bain complète.

Jouets: Il y a trois vélos pour adultes et deux pour jeunes, un foyer extérieur portable, un croquet, un badminton, un ballon de whiffle et d'autres jouets assortis à utiliser.

Du plaisir à moins de cinq miles: 1 mile du centre-ville de Douglas, 2 miles du centre-ville de Saugatuck, une cuisine raffinée, des galeries d'art, des magasins, des vergers et des fermes de cueillette (myrtille, framboise, pêche, pomme), des promenades en buggy dans les dunes, des dégustations de vin, du golf, voile, navigation de plaisance, antiquités, théâtre / musique en direct, festival du film, grange d'art pratique (mosaïques, céramiques, fabrication de bijoux en verre fusionné pour tous les âges), sentiers de randonnée / parcs / plages étatiques / locaux (Mt. Baldhead, Oval Beach, Douglas Beach, Saugatuck Dunes State Park), bowling, pêche et belles promenades le long de la plage du lac Michigan ou Lake Shore Drive.

Big, comfortable home, well suited for our multigenerational family reunion. Well appointed and stocked with everything you’ll need for a stay at the beach and meals at home. Wonderful rental, and I’ve stayed in quite a few!

The Perfect Family Trip!

We would like to start out by thanking Tara and Randy for sharing their lovely lake home with our family! Our family of 10 fit perfectly! There was 6 adults and 4 children. We had plenty of room! Very accommodating! We were never wondering what to do next! So many options! We especially loved having Lake Michigan right across the street! The sunsets were breathtaking! We took the Transit to Downtown Saugatuck for shopping and dinner! We were able to go putt putting, a ride in the dunes and of course our Beach Day Picnics! Shopping was a definite plus! We would definitely love to come back! We also enjoyed a Michigan made gift basket made by Tara and Randy! A nice warm touch! Thank you again Tara and Randy for your warm hospitality! Wonderful week in Douglas

We had a wonderful time at the home. Everything about the property was great. We loved the home, the sunset views, the lovely expanse of lawn, the towns of Douglas and Saugatuck, beautiful bike rides along Lake Shore Drive, etc. There were just a couple issues. Obviously through no fault of the owners there was no beach due to high water levels at Lake Michigan. However, we made do nicely with nearby Oval Beach in Saugatuck for which the owners paid for a couple week's passes. There was also issue with the refrigerator which did not cool properly the whole week. A repairman attempted to repair it to no avail; he did acknowledge that there definitely was a cooling issue and that we had done nothing wrong. Our stay ended on a slightly sour note when the owner told us she was very disappointed in the condition in which we'd left the house. Some of her criticisms were justified. I not feel all of them were, however, and were sorry to see the excellent rapport I had previously had with the owner who went out of her way to ensure we would have a good week end on such a note. We have rented many places in the past and there seems to be a difference in expectations as to how much cleaning guests must do. Eight adults worked hard for several hours Saturday morning to clean the house and honestly felt we'd left things in pretty good shape despite a few obvious oversights for which we were very sorry. We did not, for example, have time to wash all the beach towels despite every attempt to do so. We underestimated the amount of time it would take. However, none of this spoiled our memories of a beautiful week.

Ideal vacation home on Lake Michigan

Lovely views of Lake Michigan inside and outside of this spacious, beautifully decorated, cozy home. Plenty of room for a big group to cook, eat, and hang out together. Stocked very thoughtfully with every detail we needed to feel at home and comfortable. The private beach is wonderful and the neighborhood is perfect for walkers and joggers. The manager, Tara, is the most helpful, welcoming and organized property manager I have ever worked with. The bluff at sunset is our new happy place!

Fantastic vacation!

This house is very large, clean and has EVERYTHING you need for a great vacation. Towels, bikes, beach chairs/toys and games for outdoor or inside are all provided. You don't need to bring anything except your swimsuit. The view is amazing and their section of beach is by far the best in the area. A great new coffee shop and the famous Douglas Root Beer Barrel is walking or biking distance! The towns of Douglas and Saugatuck are filled with great food, shopping and live music! Other adventures like putt putt, dune rides and sunset cruises are just minutes away. If you are looking for an easy fun filled vacation with amazing sunsets this is the place to stay!

Perfect In Every Way!

We could not have picked a better house to celebrate my husband’s 90th birthday. We flew in from Florida and the kids drove up from St. Louis for our reunion. The house was fully equipped, very clean, and extremely comfortable. The open floor layout was perfect to hang out in and we took full advantage of the large deck facing the lake. Tara was a joy to work with...very helpful in suggesting things to do in the area and immediately responsive to any questions or problems I had. We would love to return sometime. Perfect house and location!

The property was just as advertised - spacious, comfortable, well-stocked, and in just a beautiful setting! Our family had plenty of room and took advantage of the nearby attractions in both Douglas and Saugatuck. The neighborhood is really incredible, offering beautiful views of the lake and an awesome spot for walking and jogging. Tara was terrific to work with and was quick to respond if we had any questions. We would definitely work with her again!

Great family time!

We had such a great stay at your property. It was just perfect for us with great spaces to be able to all hangout together comfortably and plenty of bathrooms for everyone getting ready at the same time!! The location was so nice being just minutes away from the beach, hikes, shopping and great restaurants. Hands down the highlight of this beautiful home for me was the view of the sunset over Lake Michigan!!

Picture Perfect

What a dream week! We arrived to a spotless home with breathtaking views of Lake Michigan. Each room was very comfortable and equipped with anything you might need. We only brought our personal items. The linens and bedding were very soft and plush which made our stay that much more pleasant. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals in the home. Lastly, the hosts were perfect! We knew exactly what to expect and had guidance too on where to eat, boat, and shop. They were also available during our week responding promptly to our questions. Top notch home and hosts!

Wonderful Property!

This is a beautiful home with so much room! This is the first home we’ve rented where all adults (and one child) got a king bedroom! When our two year old grandson discovered the toy selection in the basement family room, he was in heaven, as were the older kids. Tara was a wonderful manager and was so helpful suggesting things to do with the kids. We will definitely rent from her in the future!

Amazing Clean House

Amazing house, location and host. Our family (three generations) thoroughly enjoyed staying at this lovely, large (and centrally located) house. Great, quiet location (picturesque setting). Home was very clean and well stocked (soap, toilet paper, kitchen cleaners, condiments, etc). Clearly the owner took great pride (and care) of the home. Wonderful, prompt communication with owner (who was very accommodating). Have stayed at numerous seasonal rentals and this was perhaps the best. Hoping to make it an annual family reunion.

On Lake Michigan

The house was perfect for our family. Clean, spacious and comfortable with great linens and just the right amenities. With Covid19 we spent a lot of time around the house and did most of our cooking there. We appreciated all the help from the owners and suggestions on things to do. It was great to just go out the back for a walk, run or bike ride. I would love to return when the lake recedes and they get their beach back but Oval beach was not far.

Wonderful Home for Multiple Families!

We booked this property a year before our actual travel dates and this property did not disappoint. Tara was very responsive from the beginning and made the booking process easy and seamless. The house is in a great location making it fun for both adults and kids to enjoy blueberry picking, dune rides, fishing, wakeboarding and beautiful beach days. We cooked most meals at home and enjoyed sitting on the large back porch to enjoy the daily sunsets. The house was large and even with 3 families, never felt overcrowded. The house was well stocked with comfy beds, beach towels, beach toys, kayaks, board games and bikes. We very much enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return in the future. Thank you Tara for allowing us to create beautiful memories in your home! The kiddos give it two thumbs up!

Great house! Great location! Great week!

We had an outstanding week in the Douglas/Saugatuck area and Tara and Randy's beautiful home was a great base for our three families (including seven young kids). The home had plenty of amenities to keep all ages entertained. The littles loved the games, outdoor toys, and books, while the parents took full advantage of the sunset views over the bluff and the expansive porch after the kids were in bed. The well-appointed kitchen make meal prep a breeze. Communication with Tara was great. She was very responsive before, during, and after our stay and all expectations were clearly communicated prior to our arrival. She was also quick to let us know our security deposit was being returned after our stay. We all had a great time and would love to return again in the future.

Family Reunion

We stayed in the property for a family reunion and really enjoyed the home. The rental process was very easy and the homeowner was very responsive and helpful. The home location was great with an amazing outdoor living space and great views of Lake Michigan. Included all the comforts of home with comfortable beds, fluffy towels and a fully stocked kitchen. The owner even left us a welcome basket and brochures of the area attractions. Highly recommend the house!

Terrific home for three-generation family get-together

Tara and Randy’s home was the perfect setting for our three-generation family vacation. The home is well appointed, very comfortable, and there was lots of room for everyone to spread out. It was lovely to have morning coffee or a sunset cocktail right at the edge of Lake Michigan, just steps away from the house. The positioning of the property on a one-lane road (which seemed more like a pedestrian walkway) affords a sense of privacy and calm, and a feeling of safety - especially important with younger children. The terrace has lots of table space and seating, and the grill worked great. We took advantage of their bicycles, both kayaks, and the tons of beach toys. We enjoyed the Memorial Day parade in the little village of Douglas. Saugatuck has a much to offer - including The Mitten Brewing Co. which has a nice variety of beers (and fantastic pizzas)! We rented a pontoon boat for a two-hour cruise on the Kalamazoo River and Lake. Everyone got to pilot the boat, and there are a lot of lovely homes and boats to see. Tara was always quick and thorough in responding to my emails and questions. The home absolutely exceeded our expectations. We would all love to be able to spend more time there in the future.

Great Multi-Generational Vacation Home

My wife and I spent a wonderful long weekend at this lovely home with our three daughters and their families, which includes 4 grandchildren. We had such a relaxing time because the house is so well suited to young children. The house is stocked with board games for all age groups as well as bookshelves full of children's beginning chapter thru adolescent aged books - perfect the morning when we had a little light rain. My wife and daughters enjoyed cooking in the well-stocked kitchen and the grandchildren could easily bake cookies with Grandma from their perches on the kitchen island stools. We loved watching the glorious sunsets from the deck with wine for the adults and and dessert for the little ones. Our daughters and sons-in-laws enjoyed catching up with each other and taking a break from their busy lives in separate cities and the cousins played together for hours - a delight to witness. This home was a perfect way for our family to spend fun and meaningful time together, and we are already looking ahead to summer 2020 to book another week with our family. The care and consideration of so many amenities made our visit so memorable.

Great place for a family getaway!

This house was perfect for our fall family weekend! Enough space, great location, and all the amenities! Kitchen was ideal for making meals at home; fireplace was a nice bonus for a cold rainy weekend. Owners were attentive, provided lots of information, followed up with us throughout the process and returned our security deposit right away. Highly recommend! Hope we can return soon!

Even better than we could have imagined!

House was extremely spacious and had everything we needed. Owners were responsive to any question before and after our stay. While we were at the house they had anticipated most needs (and most wants.) Lots of beach toys and even kayaks...which were great. We had a long list of things to do while there and we only did half of them because being at the house and beach were so great. Would recommend highly!!

Everything we hoped for!

Beautiful home on Lake Michigan, private beach, gorgeous sunsets, easy access to downtown Saugatuck.... what more could you ask for! Tara did a great job of having the house in top order along with great advice for our stay. Our 4 boys are already asking when we can go back for another week. Perfect trip.

A Slice of Heaven

Our family was fortunate to stay once again in this amazing home on the shores of Lake Michigan near the adorable twin towns of Douglas and Saugatuck. This home is kept in immaculate condition with additions and improvements being made by the owners each year (this time we discovered a new granite counter top on the kitchen island and new mattresses on the beds). The home has a well-stocked kitchen, shelves full of books and games, a garage full of bikes, and plenty of indoor and outdoor toys for kids and adults alike. The owners take pride in their guests enjoying a comfortable and enjoyable vacation and provide an environment where many cherished family memories can be made. Our favorite family hangout spot is the large front terrace overlooking Lake Michigan. It’s the perfect place to start the day by enjoying the view over a peaceful morning coffee or end a relaxing day with a late afternoon cocktail. The splendor of a gorgeous Lake Michigan sunset can not be matched and falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing is pure bliss! Thank you Tara and Randy for another wonderful stay! We look forward to returning next year!
